I wouldn't be surprised if Song 5 qualified along with Yohanna to be honest. It's awful but it's woken everybody up!

She has such an amazing voice...the song is amazing, and still sailing to Eurovision, but I hope the performance is made a bit more interesting for when it does.

Obviously I have no idea what she is singing, but with a title like "Night" I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for lyrics along the lines of "Rule The World" by Take That. That would be perfect.

The main reason was really to make it easier for the mods to sift through the proposed entries in private and veto any cheap entries without a backlash distracting from the contest. Now discussion is allowed, it's just felt that restraining from revealing final confirmations until the official list is posted by the host will make for a more level playing field.

I'm fairly confident that the English version of "Nótt" will be pretty good. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually written in English first, since most of Yohanna's material is in English, and then translated into Icelandic to be within the rules of the national selection.

That's true, I think last time there wasn't any kind of production revamp was in 2007, or maybe even 2005. Still it's really not necessary in this case...with Silvia Night, Euroband, Is It True and Hera, they all sounded unfinished, or there was at least potential to make them "bigger." In this case any alterations they make could make it sound overblown.

I hope they don't revamp it, it's fine the way it is, and I don't really see exactly what they could do to it productionwise to make it better. Obviously it'll be translated I'm sure, which is why I'm trying not to listen to it too much in its current state, so that I don't get used to it in Icelandic and the English lyrics aren't too jarring when I hear them.

They've made it a rule this year that all songs have to be in Icelandic. There's nothing to say for definite that the winning song will be translated, but considering every Icelandic entry since the free language rule has been in English, it's pretty likely.

Goodness Rapper + female chorus does not automatically = current. Stuck In My Head is current compared to most of her stuff in that it could concievably be from about 2002 compared to the rest of her 1998-esque songs but seriously how deluded do you have to be to think that in its current form it would be anything close to a hit in the UK?

Right, so Kim/Linda qualified because it was my best performing entry, although it may or may not have got the qualification points or whatever to qualify of its own accord anyways. That still doesn't answer my question about how many songs from each of the ten contests have qualified for this. I did read the nomination thread a while back, and I didn't nominate because I didn't want to. Simple as that. I fail to see why that merits quite a rude response to what was a perfectly reasonable question.

Wow hold on a second, Herzebania has 3 songs in here? How many from each contest qualified? I'm confused. And which was voted as my best entry (if indeed anybody voted for that)?
