I agree with scrapping the anonymity...it was a nice experiment but it does seem to have killed quite a bit of banter and discussion. OK this could well be down to people leading busier lives nowadays or the big gap between contests, but there is certainly more potential for discussion if we know who has entered what and I think, with the activity drying up, it should be encouraged as much as possible. The anti-cheap measures are fine and above all simple. I even think the method of confirmation used in this contest could be continued, whether out in the open or via PM. Simple first come first served worked in the first few contests, I don't see why it can't work now, without the need for voting on banlists, reservation etc. If we want to keep "flavour of the month" songs out of the contest then I propose that participants simply confirm by PM, which gives the opportunity for the mods to vote on any "questionable" entries, and then they can be officially confirmed by the host when they've been approved, without the anonymous aspect. Although for transparency's sake, I'd be in favour of having a list of any rejected entries posted at the end of confirmation. As for the above quote, my response to that would simply be: not conciously anyways.

I agree. To be honest even if the voting and results all go smoothly and the right song wins etc, the actual result is really a relatively small part of the contest. Having been away for 9 months it makes the difference even more noticeable. We all may disagree on the reason, but the BJ(U)SC jumped the shark when Silly Boy won.

Bugger! It's a good job the deadline's been extended, I had it in my head that it was a midnight deadline!

And sorry about the song choice :lol: it was pretty much a random choice provided I like it (which I do, quite) and it fitted in with the show. I'll definitely be playing the winner next week, and possibly another one that I couldn't fit into last week's show.

Ha! Well it's not, but I did forget about it being there :P I was going to play it last week but didn't because I'd left one of the f-bombs in, so I wasn't gonna let it pass another week :lol:

OK I really need to start doing this properly. I've been listening to the songs on shuffle for a week now but I keep forgetting which I've heard how many times, which ones I like and which I don't like. I need to start being systematic about this. I'll start by just deleting a song from the playlist when I don't like it.

Not at all, I quite like it. Let's face it, both Joe's album and Cheryl's album would be just as good if sung by pretty much ANYBODY else, but Joe's does have better songs. I can't help feeling that Cheryl has been given songs that nobody else wanted / didn't make it to 3 words.

To be fair I think it would be unreasonable to expect Phil (or anyone) to individually quality check and edit 36 audio files...

Possibly...maybe it's mine...I was going to play it on the radio show the other day by the way, but we had some technical glitches at the start so I didn't have time!

I'd be quite curious to see the songs that got rejected in the end, and if anybody actually did attempt to enter Le Kid, or just assumed that they'd already be taken / banned :lol:

Can I just ask whether Aaron and Tom had anything whatsoever to do with the rejection of songs? :P

It's not that I associate it particularly with Ashton's "sound"...it's more a case of putting two and two together, as I was reading up on a few of the songs that I was thinking of playing tomorrow.

ALSO, I've got a feeling I know what the home entry is this year :heehee: I've also been toying with playing it on the show but I think I'll wait until next week :P
