BJUSC XXIX Confirmation
Bloody hell! I clearly left at the wrong time...3 Scandipop winners in the last 3 contests?! :o

Melodifestivalen 2011
The first four songs and artists have been announced....one of them has got me particularly excited!! Linda Bengtzing – ‘E De Fel På Mig’ (Thomas G:Son, Pontus Assarsson, Jörgen Ringqvist) Lasse Stefanz – ’En Blick Och Nåt Händer’ (Alexander Bard, Ola Håkansson, Ola Norell) Pernilla Andersson – ’Desperados’ (Pernilla Andersson) Swingfly – ’Me and My Drum’ (Teron Beal, Patrik Magnusson, Johan Ramström) Obviously the return of Linda Bengtzing combined with those songwriters has got me salivating (could this be her year??), but I'm also quite enthusiastic about the debut of singer-songwriter Pernilla Andersson, and intrigued about the songwriting return of Alexander Bard (intrigued, not excited!).

BJUSC XXIX Confirmation
Well hopefully...I'm sure once the songs themselves are announced that will provoke alot more discussion. If the anonymous thing continues, then one small tweek that could perhaps be made in the future could be instead of a list of countries that have confirmed being put up, a list of songs instead? It would mean people having to be quite discrete about when/whether they've confirmed, but it would (a) avoid situations of people not knowing what songs are/aren't free, and (B) give people more to talk about in the run up to the contest. Obviously it's early days, and nobody knows how it will pan out yet, but it's just something that had occurred to me at this stage. I'm sure different things will be tried and tested anyway.

BJUSC XXIX Confirmation
I don't mean I don't like the thought of the songs being relatively unknown songs, I was referring to the songs being entered anonymously.

BJUSC XXIX Confirmation
I do think it's an interesting twist, and it'll be fun. I just have a feeling that making it a permament thing would kill the craic slightly.

BJUSC XXIX Confirmation
I was just looking at old threads from a year or so ago as a way of putting off working even more :P On one hand it made me feel quite nostalgic and more enthusiastic to participate again, but also it made me realise something...around the time of reservations and confirmations being opened this place was a hive of activity. And I don't just mean the fights to secure certain artists etc. There was SO much discussion and banter in several threads, and in comparison it seems like a ghost town. I know it seems like I automatically disagree with rules that are put into place just to be difficult, but I swear that's really not the case; I think that anonymous entries is a really interesting development, and one of the things that is tempting me back again. However it could be placing the integrity of the contest itself above the fun that could be had. Because I can't really see activity picking up all that much, as there just isn't that much to talk about if we can't discuss what we're thinking of entering :(

BJUSC XXIX Confirmation
Question! If changes are allowed then what if... FSR Rontvia confirm Song A, and the next day, Kopecka attempts to confirm song A but is told that it is already taken. Therefore Kopecka confirms Song B instead. The day after that, FSR Rontvia changes their mind and decides to send Song C instead. How will Kopecka know that Song A is now available to use?

BJUSC 29 - Ashton - Sign Up Thread
Hmm...I've now got a potential artist with a few good songs, but I can totally see myself flopping yet again. A part of me really wants to come back but another part of me shudders at the thought of listening to 40-odd songs!

Herzebania is kind of 80/20 in favour of not participating right now but if I can find a really good song I'll maybe give it a shot.

Buzzjack Unknown Song Contest Premiere!
Sounds very interesting, and I'm definitely tempted to come back. Just wondering though, if the hosts know which country is which, and the mods have the power to ban songs that they don't see fit (which, no matter what way you look at it, is going to be subjective or else we'd just be able to stick to the afformentioned rules), would it be completely fair for them to participate?

Christer Björkman one step closer to world domination
There is no way the running order will be pre-determined should Christer take over. I can see him adding some more elements to the draw to make it more "fun" but it will always be basically random. Melodifestivalen is completely different, as although the songs and artists are in competition, they are all competing for the same team so to speak, and one could even use the argument that Christer just wants the best song to represent his country. He would have no right to do this in the contest proper, as it is the big final, with many different competing teams, and he could not be impartial, something that's less vital in MF than in the real contest, and I doubt he'd be stupid enough not to realise this.

Ke$ha - 'Take It Off'
Is there anywhere I'd be able to find it or will it only come around on the music channels if I wait long enough?

Herzebania is considering rejoining for BJSC XXIX

Ke$ha - 'Take It Off'
To be fair I've not looked around very much to find this, but I was watching a music channel last night and saw this video with what I'm convinced is a different version of the song. It was in a higher key I think and seemed to have richer production...I thought that it was a new version for the single release but it seems like the album version is the one being released. Was it just a remix? If so can anybody tell me which one? Because I really liked it! Am I just imagining this??

Tone Damli - Norwegian Pop Goddess
Glad this is getting released finally, as far as I'd heard it was meant to be out in July and has got put off...as if it was going to get any more promo in that time. I've got a soft spot for Longshot, I'm glad it's been included :) Even though it's been relegated to track 8 for some reason...

Up-Dated UK Million Sellers - On BBC Radio 2
So what are the 24/25/26 new million sellers since 2002 then? Amarillo Mysterious Girl Band Aid 20 Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah Shayne Warde - That's My Goal BEPs - I Gotta Feeling Sex on fire Wonderwall? Torn? Angels? Back for good? Anyone care to fill in the gaps for me? I hope Save Your Kisses For Me isn't now number 101 :( I seem to recall it being the lowest selling of the million sellers back in 2002

Margi Clarke Eurovison Bid
Well you / she have blown it already because you've put it on the Internet before October 1st

Agnes & Björn Skifs - When You Tell The World You're Mine
I agree about the vocals sounding ropey, Bjorn's timing is all over the place. But I much prefer the arrangement, it's much more atmospheric, and less formulaic sounding than the studio version.

Agnes & Björn Skifs - When You Tell The World You're Mine
I much prefer the arrangement of the version performed at the wedding, shame about Bjorn's vocals. Sorry for the bump but theres a version on Swedish itunes called the Church version and it's the one that's still riding high on itunes. It seems to be a studio recording of the church version, and while judging by the 30 second clip it seems to just be a sloppy remake of the radio edit, I'd still be interested to hear it. Anybody know how I can get hold of it??

Melodifestivalen 2011
That thought did cross my mind too, but then I realised it's professional songwriters only :( Amateurs are allowed only to enter the webjoker contest, although I'm not sure whether that's open to non-Swedes.

Individual jury/televotes
I can only assume that Israel was much better in their dress rehearsals...5th in the final from juries?!?! Not surprised at all that Denmark did better with the public than with the juries, although quite surprised that Romania only came 6th with the public!

Scissor Sisters - Night Work [28th June]

Katie Price - Free To Love Again
If that's sarcastic, then it's hilarious, but if not it's so ridiculous it makes me sad! Anyways this is blatantly going to be a Gaga rip off.

Danish Melodi Grand Prix 2010
Actually now that I've listened to most of the songs I have to say it's really quite poor :(

Danish Melodi Grand Prix 2010
Just downloaded the album and I'm listening now. Very pleasant so far but none of the songs are anywhere near as hooky as In A Moment Like This, which by the way, sounds slightly different in its album form.
