    Me too....15th
  2. It will be.
  3. Oh for heavens sake, their rep does not solely ride on how something Jade did once is viewed retrospectively.

    Well we can hope :)

I think it's on Dailymotion. And she's performed it on some TV show since then and it was no better. She's going to need some serious vocal coaching before Oslo, but even at that, vocal coaches can't just turn a bad singer good in a month.

I wouldn't have gone that far either, but after watching a couple of live performances, her vocals aren't just marmite a la Anna Bergendahl, they are just amateurish. There's "quirky" and then there's just off key. With regards to the whole Germany being the way forwards and Denmark being the way backwards, I know that I'd rather see an old fashioned song win that was professional and well performed, than a contemporary song that was clumsy and below par. I don't think it'll be a genuine worry though, I'd say the votes will speak for themselves. Even though I've never thought it was a winner, I do really like Satellite, but it is just in the last few days that I have really struggled to see it doing well at all. It only has one chance to impress and I don't think the voters will see through the amateurishness of Lena and the performance in that 3 minutes to appreciate the song enough to vote for it. I've predicted better in the past but I'm going to have to say right-hand side of the scoreboard for this.

I entered as well, although I put Germany 5th which I'm now pretty sure isn't going to happen. I've had quite a turnaround in the last few days regarding Satellite, and contrary to what Rich predicts, I would now be pretty gobsmacked if it manages to finish in the top half.

I'd hoped that Adam Lambert would do somewhat better in this chart that in the sales chart but clearly that's not the case :(
  9. By the way, I got a bit confused when I said that only 3 songs remained in tact from the original album in their original forms, referring to Release Me, How Do You Know and Love Me Senseless. I wasn't including Look At Me Now, Don't Pull Your Love Out and Open Your Eyes which as far as I'm aware are off the UK version. On and On, I Need You Now, Big Blue Wall and Sometimes I Forget have been remixed or revamped, and Love Love Love has been added, as have Secret Love and You Rain.
  10. I've PMed y'all under the condition that you at least buy On and On when it comes out on May 16th. You never know, we could make it 94 instead of 95!!
  11. Much inferior. In their attempt to make it less cheesy, all they've done is removed the synthy sound from the verses resulting in it sounding extremely 90s and dated. Although it might have been given another update...I've seen a YT clip of her singing a version of it in America with a completely different arrangement. And check your PMs
  12. I'd say that'll be the case with Josh, who is a very competant singer, but for some reason sounds like a robot on the final studio version.
  13. I've been enjoying this in all its HQ glory as it's on the Australian version of the album Listening to the album has totally reignited my obsession with Agnes. It's brilliant, and almost unrecognisable from the original release of a year and a half ago - I think a total of three songs remain in tact, in their original form. It's a brillant party album with no less than 8 really catchy floorfillers on it. It's made even better by the fact they've got the Cahill radio edit of INYN rather than the UK version. I've adjusted it slightly on my iPod by reinstating the Melfest version of Love Love Love instead of the album mix, and keeping on Don't Pull Your Love Out and it's just perfect :) Totally worth the wait, and I now won't be banging my head off the wall if it never sees the light of day in the UK!

Just noticed your signature bigzarafan... So I take it we won't be seeing you around in this forum much next year ;)
  15. I wouldn't be so sure about that...remember, most if not all of the successful "chav pop" rappers are a good 20 years younger than Daz.
  16. I think Denmark is the front runner to be honest, and the majority of people I've played it to really like it. I've not really heard any complaints about it being dated, even though it quite clearly is, but people just seem to enjoy it for what it is, and I'd say that'll be the reaction. I don't really care if it's seen as a "typical" Eurovision song, considering this is the Eurovision Song Contest  If it is, as you say, exactly the kind of thing your average viewer expects from Eurovision, then I can't see many people complaining about it if it's exactly what they expect. It wouldn't set the charts alight, but it's a good quality song with a wide appeal. And a little like the Buzzjack Song Contest, I like songs winning Eurovision that you wouldn't get outside of Eurovision. Fairytale, after all, was one such song. OK it had something special, but it was far too folky to be a pop success and too mainstream to be taken seriously in folk circles. Eurovision is the only place it could find success, and it did, on a much larger scale than just Eurovision. So while I am totally for mainstream, contemporary music at Eurovision, and encourage it wholeheartedly, what the contest is not, is a competition to find the song that could chart most successfully etc. I think that would make it quite dull :(
  17. The same person / people who were behind "Time Stood Still" the entry that the UK should have chosen. This, according to the video description, is the arrangement that would actually give us a chance. Out of the two people to comment, I'm pretty sure one of them is definitely involved with the person who made the song.
  18. Well folks it could be worse.... 8kH1-K0yBNU This the version that apparently could have guaranteed us a better placing than Josh will.
  19. To be honest I don't care about whether we have an established artist or not. We've seen it go horribly wrong in the past with other countries having enourmous backlashes when their entry hasn't done well. As we all know, fame is not correlated to talent; we'd have been hard pushed to find somebody who did a better job than Jade, and Josh has a great voice and he's very natural when it comes to performing and being interviewed. I think our main problem is how the BBC handles the selection in general, as well as the songs themselves. Indeed, it could be said that the BBC's quest to find a big name songwriter this year is the main reason everyone is so pesimistic about our chances!
  20. I think now that On and On has been given its makeover, and is less midtempo, it is the much better single choice. It fills dancefloors when I've been out and heard it far more than I Need You Now ever did. I can't see this even making the top 75 sadly. And to whoever said she now has an album to promote, remember she had an album to promote last time and we all know what happened there! I got hold of the Australian release today, which has a much better tracklisting. Also, there's now a Facebook campaign to get this to #1!! :w00t: It has 23 members :nocheer: It's both hilarious and tragic at the same time!
  21. I definitely prefer the live (final) version to the recorded, in which he sounds like a robot. It's blatantly a very rushed job, the vocals sound very messy.
  22. I'd agree with most of semi-final one although to be fair positions 6-17 could be in any order and nobody would really give a rat's arse! I'd predict almost the same for semi 2 except I can see Cyprus losing out to Georgia in the battle of the ballads at the end and Sweden losing out in their block of three female ballads and being replaced with Ukraine. While I think Croatia's finish in their semi is pretty accurate I can't see it winning. Lower top ten me thinks, and as for Germany, it reeks of a fan favourite and I'd predict 11-15 for it. I agree that Spain will do better than people are thinking too, and although I think Azerbaijan is very much in the running, I see Denmark or Romania as much more likely outright winners (although that only applies to the latter should they keep the piano).

Gotta love videos with a storyline  Although for a minute there I thought we were going to be seeing Hera in a bathing suit...don't scare me like that again!!! :o

Tyron will be happy! It's the full 3.30 of the final version!
  25. I think it needs to be pointed out that it is not the final version. It is the version they recorded in order to submit a studio recording to the EBU in time for the deadline. It will be included on the official CD (which is where the radio station who played it got it from). It has since been further revised, apparently is "significantly different" and "punchier." So the version which will be released as a single and performed at Eurovision itself is different from this version and will be premiered at the Dutch Eurovision party on Saturday, and hopefully on British radio sometime next week. Still, even considering that dire version played today wasn't the final version, this whole thing is a bit of a mess.
