The Official Buzzjack Hot 40
Sorry about the minimalist style of the blurb this week! I have to admit I've not been fully keeping up with chart action this week so was a bit short on interesting tidbits! I'm sure normal service will be resumed with Tom at the helm!

The Official Buzzjack Hot 40
http://i48.tinypic.com/2dtzkly.jpg Evening all! Time for the latest edition of the Buzzjack Hot 40, based on singles, airplay and multichart data. Let's see who's made it to the top this week! This week / Last week / Artist - Title (Peak) (Weeks) 1 1 LADY GAGA Feat. BEYONCE Telephone (3x1) (15) 2 4 SCOUTING FOR GIRLS This Ain't A Love Song* (2) (4) 3 3 Cheryl COLE Parachute (2) (9) 4 2 RIHANNA Rude Boy (3x1) (11) 5 8 Tinie TEMPAH Pass Out* (5) (6) 6 7 Jason DERULO In My Head (2) (11) 7 5 Ellie GOULDING Starry Eyed (2) (10) 8 14 PLAN B She Said* (8) (2) 9 6 Alicia KEYS Empire State Of Mind (Part II) (1x1) (14) 10 12 TIMBALAND Feat. Katy PERRY If We Ever Meet Again (2) (11) 11 10 INNA Hot (10) (4) 12 11 Gabriella CILMI On A Mission (8) (9) 13 15 Pixie LOTT Gravity* (13) (8) 14 29 Joshua RADIN I'd Rather Be WIth You* (14) (3) 15 17 USHER Feat. will.i.am OMG* (15) (3) 16 9 BLACK EYED PEAS Rock That Body (9) (7) 17 16 OWL CITY Fireflies (5x1) (13) 18 19 Diana VICKERS Once* (18) (4) 19 13 Justin BIEBER Feat. LUDACRIS Baby (12) (5) 20 27 TIMBALAND Feat. Justin TIMBERLAKE Carry Out* (20) (2) 21 36 FLORENCE & THE MACHINE Dog Days Are Over (21) (4) 22 18 LADY GAGA Bad Romance (6x1) (25) 23 NE KELIS Acapella* (23) (1) 24 NE CHIPMUNK Feat. Esmee DENTERS Until You Were Gone* (24) (1) 25 20 JLS One Shot (4) (13) 26 NE David GUETTA Feat. KID CUDI Memories* (26) (1) 27 32 Kate NASH Doo Wah Doo* (27) (4) 28 25 KE$HA Feat. 3OH!3 Blah Blah Blah (11) (10) 29 30 FLORENCE & THE MACHINE You Got The Love* (10) (22) 30 21 YOUNG MONEY Bedrock (16) (7) 31 35 Sophie ELLIS-BEXTOR Bittersweet* (31) (2) 32 31 IYAZ Replay (2) (14) 33 33 3OH!3 Feat. Katy PERRY Starstrukk (3) (17) 34 28 FLORENCE & THE MACHINE & Dizzee R. You Got The Dirtee Love (17) (8) 35 40 Alexandra BURKE All Night Long* (35) (2) 36 NE PARAMORE The Only Exception* (36) (1) 37 24 BOYZONE Gave It All Away (18) (6) 38 37 Alex GARDNER I'm Not Mad (37) (2) 39 NE N-DUBZ Say It's Over* (39) (1) 40 NE Paloma FAITH Upside Down* (40) (1) So despite Scouting For Girls being the top seller for the second week, they are outperformed by quite a margin on this chart as GaGa and Beyonce make it a third week at the top, although Scouting For Girls do reach a new peak of second place. Last week's high new entry from Plan B has been pushed into the top ten thanks to a large increase in airplay, but other than that, a fairly static top ten apart from Timbaland and Katy Perry creeping back in. Kelis is the highest new entry at 23, and looks set to climb in the coming weeks, with other new entries from Chipmunk, David Guetta, Paramore, N-Dubz and Paloma Faith.

ESC Simulator 2010
My first time this year doing this: 1. Denmark (315) 2. Azerbaijan (217) 3. Romania (189) 4. Germany (176) 5. Ireland (171) 6. Turkey (160) 7. Bulgaria (115) 8. Norway (109) 9. Albania (100) 10. Georgia (99) 11. Russia (88) 12. Armenia (88) 13. Croatia (69) 14. Iceland (65) 15. Bosnia Herzegovina (56) 16. Belarus (51) 17. Greece (41) 18. Estonia (39) 19. Israel (30) 20. Slovakia (29) 21. Belgium (24) 22. FYR Macedonia (22) 23. United Kingdom (8) 24. Spain (1) 25. France (0) The order seems fairly believable there, although I can't see Denmark (or any country for that matter) having such a landslide victory.

Azerbaijan 2010
I remember the album being up in its entirety well before the contest last year, and Alexander was originally at #3 on the back of sales from the compilation, but obviously some legal complications resulted in Fairytale being an album only download and the single version being substituted in the chart.

I like Delirious :(

Russia 2010
Have I been really stupid not to realise that the Russian song is a complete pisstake? Did everybody else realise this? I just thought it was unknowingly atrocious!

Just because they were disqualified doesn't mean money didn't go to shelter does it? I've never heard of anyone getting a refund because of a disqualified sale.
-
iTunes Thread // April I
It's technically an album purely by virtue of people clicking the buy album button as opposed to the buy song button. It won't count towards the iTunes single chart, it counts towards the iTunes album chart instead rather than as well, but like has already been mentioned, the sales of the itunes album chart are pretty low and in this case they'll all count towards the official chart anyway. Which is what really matters.

Betting Help.
If you put £1 each way on something, it means you're putting £1 on them to win, and £1 on them to finish in the top four, for a quarter of the odds. So you're betting £2 altogether. If the odds are 12/1 and it came in the top 4 then you'd win £3. And if it won then you'd win £12 and also the £3 you'd win for it coming top 4. I hope that makes sense!

Evidently

Yeah just make sure you do some calculations before putting bets on, so you don't end up putting money on something which would still result in a loss even if you won!

An each way bet on Romania at 66/1 would be very worthwhile I think. I can't believe people aren't picking up on its potential yet. It may not win but I simply can't visualise it finishing outside of the top 4! I'd just stick the 2 euro on Azerbaijan to win tbh. Basically with your each way bet if they came in the top 4 you'd win about 90 cents.

Normally I'd agree with you but if indeed there is only a tiny gap between #2 and #3 then I see no reason why Delirious? couldn't overtake both if they can overtake one of them.
-
iTunes Thread // April I
I think #1 is probably out of the question sadly, as Delirious would need to make number one on iTunes and delevop a vast lead over everything else. Remember we've had 4 out of 7 sales days already. HMV and Amazon really don't count for much unfortunately. #2 should be within reach if Plan B is only a fraction ahead of GaGa, and it'd be a fantastic result.

My goodness!! Combined, Delirious? are ahead of GaGa??? Wow!! Was not expecting that.

iTunes Thread // April I
I'm going to hazard a guess that the pop bars will make quite disappointing reading for Delirious? supporters :(
-
iTunes Thread // April I
Yes it may be a primitive version made as an unsigned band but it's still the best known version. I personally think the production is great.
-
iTunes Thread // April I
Well it is from 1997 :P As for Delirious? themselves, they officially disbanded at the end of 2009, so in a way this is good as it means they get to go out on a high.

United Kingdom 2010
The compilation CD will include the entries as they are now. Hopefully the official Eurovision website will make the same blunder as it did last year and stick it online a few weeks too early!

Although did Mel C not make number 1 with NBTSA anyways?

Azerbaijan 2010
To be honest I don't see any other way they could have the ending without going over the three minute mark. It's already been cut down quite considerably. I'm not a huge fan of the ending either but I'd rather have it that way than lose another part of the song.
