Melodifestivalen 2010
Yes it is a bit of a grower. Personally I'd be quite disappointed if it won, and it's not among my favourites, but I've listened to all of the songs and arrived at that conclusion. Disregarding a song without even attempting to listen to it is utterly ridiculous. It's not my favourite song by a long stretch, but there are people on this forum and others who do like it, and clearly the Swedes see something in it considering that it's top of their iTunes chart, so who is to say that you won't like it?

Melodifestivalen 2010
 Would it be so hard to listen to Anna's song before you decide you don't want her to win?

Melodifestivalen 2010
To be fair, it's probably not Christer all by himself, I'm sure it's not that much of a dictatorship  It's far from random but there is probably a group of people who decide.

Melodifestivalen 2010
I'd say Salem could do very well in the final if it comes across well visually. I've come around to the idea that Timoteij could do well, but they are by no means winners. Top ten though. I think I'd agree with most of those other predictions except I think you're overestimating Anna and Jessica. I think Ola could maybe do a little better than 18th but not much.

Performing last. And no they haven't but songs like that don't do nearly as well as fans like to believe.

Melodifestivalen 2010
Out of the last 8 Melodifestivalens (since the introduction of heats), 4 of the winners have performed first in the final. Don't rule him out! Two have been the last to perform, and the other two were Lena and Carola.

Portugal 2010
I don't get all the love for Catarina. Well I do, I wouldn't have expected any different, but if Soraya couldn't get anywhere with her song when she was performing in the pimp slot, then she certainly couldn't. Also if RTP were to be "more innovative" then surely that would mean going in the opposite direction of songs like that.

Melodifestivalen 2010
Running order: 1. Darin 2. Pernilla Wahlgren 3. Andreas Johnson 4. Timoteij 5. Peter Joback 6. Ola 7. Jessica Andersson 8. Salem Al Fakir 9. Anna Bergendahl 10. Eric Saade I know there are alot of ballads and they all have to go somewhere, but Darin has to be the more bizarre choice for an opening song I've seen in a long time. Predictable that Christer has stuck the schlager in the death slot and commendable that he realises Peter Joback doesn't stand much of a chance. It's going to be a bit of an uphill struggle for Timoteij, and it's looking more and more like a win for This Is My Life.

United Kingdom 2010
This is Pete Waterman! 2004 would be lightyears ahead of what I'm expecting, so I'd have no complaints about that! Let's face it, the song will be exactly the same for all of them, so it pretty much depends on who looks and sings it the best

Melodifestivalen 2010
OK it was funny, but I hope you mean the best comedy sketch you've seen in Melodifestivalen, not ever!

United Kingdom 2010
I admit it's not looking hopeful but how can you possibly deduce that from minute-long interviews?

Any sign of Niamh Kavanagh yet?

Melodifestivalen 2010
I've heard it so much now I've become desensitised to the appalling lyrics  I choose to ignore them, but no doubt at some stage I'll listen to it and it'll hit me again, at which point it will go plummeting down the list!

Ireland 2010
Well that's your opinion, so fair enough. I suppose there are similarities with Georgia's entry as well but it doesn't have the "big finish" that Norway and Ireland have. My opinion is that the only thing that makes Norway scream winner as opposed to Ireland is that it will have the home crowd reaction, and they'll all be cheering and singing along in the audience, which will come across very well on television, especially for this particular song. So I suppose that could give it an edge. That said, there's usually a pretty large Irish crowd in the audience too :)

Ireland 2010
Why do you think this will do so much worse than My Heart Is Yours? I love both songs and I'll be the first to admit they're incredibly similar, so I don't understand how you can see them both getting such different results. Is it just because you're from Norway and you're hoping that Diedrik does well but you don't actually think he will, or is it something else? Because to be honest, apart from if they're drawn close together which would be a nightmare for both of them, I actually think Niamh could cause trouble for Norway. Both songs are great, and similar, but Niamh definitey has the edge vocally and in terms of performance.

Melodifestivalen 2010
My finalists in the order I'm liking them at the moment. 1. Salem Al Fakir 2. Hollow 3. Manboy 4. Kom 5. We Can Work It Out 6. Unstoppable 7. This Is My Life 8. You're Out Of My Life Out of all of those, the only song I'm still not really liking is Darin's. I like all the rest, although I wouldn't like to see Anna winning, and don't think that Ola or Andreas stand any chance of doing so.

Melodifestivalen 2010
Tomorrow I'd really like to see Pernilla and Alcazar qualify. Then it will have shades of a proper MelFest final :D I suppose Neo stands a pretty good chance of beating Alcazar so I wouldn't mind him making it, and if we're judging by song alone and nothing else, I probably prefer Human Frontier to Headlines. As for Pernilla's half, if she doesn't make it my second choice would be Pauline, and she seems to stand a fair chance. If you'd asked me 3 weeks ago about Pain of Salvation, I'd have quite liked them to get to the final, but knowing what we know now, I really really hope they don't make it as that would mean half of the finalists would be male ballads.

Ireland 2010
The judges now have a complete 50/50 say in the semis as well remember. I think this will get out of the semis no doubt and will get at least mid-table in the final for Ireland. Yes I know it's similar to Norway's song and it's predictable, but Niamh can really sell it, and I think it'll go down great in the hall.

Ireland 2010
These are the latest odds. Major turnaround since the songs were revealed! Niamh - 4/11 Mikey - 9/4 Leanne - 12/1 Lee - 18/1 Monika - 25/1

Ireland 2010
I don't quite understand why the instrumental bit in Niamh's song isn't led by a tin whistle, but what sounds like a recorder  It does make it sound a tiny bit amateurish, but it's only a tiny niggle. At least it's not a saxophone  http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp357/Peter30/boyzone1.jpg

Ireland 2010
Yes but the difference is most of the songs this year aren't intentionally dated (Denmark, Macedonia, Malta off the top of my head), whereas this song is going for that 1940s retro type of feel. It's not a case of the writers being stuck in the past! That said, it doesn't make the song any better, or change that fact that it's a criminal rip-off of Candyman.

Ireland 2010
I suppose Niamh would get quite alot of votes based on name alone too. The Irish are very proud of the glory days, and alot of the general Irish population seems to be convinced they'll win again if they just send Johnny Logan back  So I'd say that way of thinking will apply to Niamh as well. I'm also getting quite impatient to get mp3s.

Ireland 2010
I'm really quite worried. They do say it's a 50/50 judges and jury vote but it does give slight bias to the public vote. If Mikey beats Niamh in the public vote, Niamh needs to beat Mikey consistantly with the juries. Niamh would need to get every 12 and Mikey would need to get at least one set of 8 points or lower.
