  1. Has everyone forgotten about Pernilla??? :o She's the epitome of aging Swedish schlager diva! Malena wasn't a schlager diva before MelFest and Carola and Lena have pretty much been constantly recognisable since they emerged. Pernilla is the sole schlager diva this year and she's totally living off her former glories, which is awesome

Safura did record Cancelled but she didn't perform it. I think the jury has said that the song sent to Oslo will be one of the three that she performed tonight.

As frustrating as it is for us fans, it is refreshing that they're putting so much thought into this.
  4. It's not just your download, that's its name apparently

Mr Hudson – Young Forever (10) (10) Quite a few big climbers this week, but in the very top rungs it's a quiet week, with Alicia Keys sneaking a week at number one while Owl City slip to number 5. However her run looks like it could be quite limited, as several songs climb into the top ten, several with a chance of taking the top spot next week. The highest of a batch of new entries is Chiddy Bang at #30 which should be a big climber next week, with other new entries from Robbie Williams, Black Eyed Peas, Muse and Young Money. Gabriella re-enters the chart as she is now picking up some airplay, so hopefully she should be there for the long haul. Finally, I Gotta Feeling finally drops out after 34 weeks on the chart! The longest runner is now Empire State Of Mind which has clocked up 24 weeks. Tom will be back next week with the chart. Until then, have a good week!
  6. I really don't think popularity played a part in Andy Abraham getting to represent us. Blame the poor sound from the studio or whatever but Andy and Michelle were the only ones who put in a performance resembling professional. The Revelations had a good song but I'm including them when I say the rest of the performances on the night were laughable.
  7. OK I'm almost done with my essays so will somebody kindly PM me a link to download the album? :) Ta
  8. It's similar to the moment in Friends when Ross announces that the quiz is ready
  9. Can I just say I loved Rich's understated delivery of the news
  10. About bleedin time!
  11. I see your logic, but not every every can qualify alongside every other entry. There are 28 possible combinations in a regular heat, where the top two simply go through. For example, Pernilla and Jessica Andersson could qualify for the final together, but Pernilla and Pauline could not. So it's not just every possible combination.
  12. Have I calculated correctly that there are only actually 16 potetial combinations of qualifiers from Andra Chansen?
  13. Whilst that logic makes sense, also note than Underbart is 2nd out of the AC lot  Like that's gonna appeal to anybody outside of Sweden or indeed under 40.
  14. Right, for heavens sake all of the studio versions are available somewhere or another! I wish somebody out there would just package them together and upload them as a set! It had been done by this time last year surely! Also, not surprised that Neo is favourite out of the AC lot, but very confused about Pernilla and Alcazar being 5th and 6th!!
  15. And I think maybe that is why her voice bothers me so much more in her MelFest song than her version of Release Me did. Because This Is My Life is not nearly as quirky as Natasha Bedingfield or Amanda Jenssen; it's pretty mainstream, and purely in my opinion would suit somebody with a purer voice singing it.
  16. By the way, since Keep On Walking hasn't been released as a single yet, how are people getting the studio version? I can only assume they're getting it from the album, so why doesn't somebody hurry up and just upload the whole thing!
  17. They give comments like that on American Idol??? I never watch it but I think those two things you mentioned is already more than they'd say in a whole series about the actual singing skill of the contestants. It's either totally mindblowing and perfect (when it quite clearly is not) or pointless comments about the performance, or the song choice and how they made it their own. I suppose American Idol is still more about the music. As for Anna I have no doubt that she'll get better if she's given a decent shot at having a proper career, just as Agnes did. Some of her Idol performances were unbearable, and Anna is already alot better technically than Agnes was. At least Anna does sort of suit the shakyness in her voice.
  18. I know that whether or not a voice is pleasant to listen to is totally subjective, and I fully accept that me finding her voice irritating it just personal opinion. However there is no getting past the fact that she is a long way from technically accomplished. She is shaking all over the place, and not just in a vibrato sort of way, and she's extremely nasal.
  19. Just listen to the live recording, it's pretty much the same thing.
  20. What is this Anna Bergendahl amazing vocal nonsense?!?! I have to say that while it was a lovely song with a very nice presentation, she has one of the most irritating voices I've heard in a long time!! It's annoying in the same way Agnes was just after she came out of Idol.
  21. What?? :o I quoted it!! :P It's perfectly acceptable. EDIT: Actually, forget I said that...it was a completely different Peter30
  22. An international jury voted for a wildcard, which is how Sofia made it. She got no public votes in the final and the reception in the arena was very muted so unsurprisingly that idea has been scrapped.
  23. No 11th song. And I'm backing Pernilla and Alcazar. Pernilla should ease through as that first half is $h!t easy, whereas Alcazar have more of a fight on their hands.
  24. All the songs will be on iTunes from 9.30pm on Saturday night!! :w00t: I don't know whether that also means UK iTunes but if not I'm sure they'll be pretty much everywhere else on the internet by 10pm!
  25. I think we're being a little unrealistic about the UK's perception of the contest. Yes, people did like quite a few of the songs last year and the general opinion was that we achieved a good result last year. But ask a random person on the street what they think of Eurovision and their answer won't have changed that much from a few years ago. The contest hasn't seen a major surge in ratings and I think Jade's chart position and subsequent lack of support for her solo career is quite telling. Don't get me wrong, I think we're on the right track but it is a long process. There are alot of years to put right (remember the contest was generally seen as an irrelevant joke in the UK even long before Katrina won), and I think to say that last year turned the public opinion around in a major fashion is being a tad over-optimistic.
