Just to be quite clear, "Get Back ASAP" won't be used as a benchmark regarding what is and isn't cheap / uninspired. If something is vetoed, it's vetoed, and cries of "Alexandra Stan was allowed in, so this should be!" will not in themselves be accepted.

Also, regarding the scores, the set posted on the previous page are correct with ties broken according to "most votes." I think there was just a breakdown of communication with Mark and Matt assuming that the ties on the spreadsheets had been broken, which wasn't the case, hence my sending of the message with the broken ties. Easy mistake to make, and not one involving people getting confused about what system was used.

I explained the situation in the mods forum where Jester put himself forward, but I thought I should ask RFC too since he came 2nd last month and there had been people suggesting we did a joint contest had I not been able to host. In the end they decided to share. Considering the last minute nature of it, if RFC had said no then I'd have just got the first willing volunteer (in this case Jester) to do it rather than working my way down the leader board.

I'm a bit confused too, I broke the ties using the "most votes" method and sent the hosts a message with this info in it but it seems to have changed at some point between then and the final scoreboard being posted...

It wasn't "just for the sake of it," it's because I thought he'd been a bit of a c**t throughout the thread. Besides...low blow? "You didn't win this internet song competition, you just came 4th - haha!" If that is considered a low blow for anyone then I suggest not emotionally investing quite so much in the contest :lol: But OK I'll stop now :P

Well! After Britt Love being built up so much I was a tad disappointed with 10th place, but still delighted to have my 4th top ten in 5 contests, which would have been inconcievable in the old days!! I can't help but chuckle at the irony of Britt Love flopping for me and Rich going on to win... :heehee: Thank you so so much to Mark and Matt for stepping in and hosting a fantastic, tense final show. I have no problem with the manipulation of the voting order, and Phil to be honest I'll say to you what I've always thought, and that is if you've had a lousy day don't take it online, especially if you take something like the Buzzjack Song Contest so seriously that there's a chance of it pissing you off even more. The voting order was clearly not done specifically to give one country a massive fall from grace, and if you look at the start, it was manipulated so that FSR Rontvia and FYR Vojvodina were miles ahead - the latter really came out of it worse than you did in the end. Obviously I can understand how this and the deliberate brutal kicking of Prince Saade during the Eurovision results would leave a bitter taste about the voting order being manipulated, so you can present the votes however you want now that you've won - oh no wait...you haven't! Many congratulations to Rich who did win, with a song that crept up on me in the final week and that I hadn't been crazy about beforehand. That's twice that Herzebania has handed the title to FSR Rontvia! I'm glad you've decided to host the next one - onwards and upwards...it'll be the treble for Herzebania next month!!

Right well I suppose I can't comment on anything much considering I know where all this is going, but thank you to Numayania, Letland and Kopecka for your votes! Now I've got to go but best of luck to everyone :) And thanks again to RabbitFurCoat and Jester for taking over today!

I should point out the big gap there was between Dead On The Dancefloor and everything else for me. Definitely the best discovery I've made in this contest for a good few months, despite the fantastic quality last month!

That has never been the case, and I have no idea who told you that, but it can't have been anybody with much experience. Besides, it doesn't matter what the rules may or may not have been in previous contests...it is made quite clear on the first page of this thread that everyone was meant to vote.

Anyways folks, the announcement... As wonderful and massive my plans had been for the final of this contest, and as much as it would have been unlike ANYTHING ever seen before, real life has engulfed me and I will be unable to present the results this weekend, or any time close to this weekend. Therefore it's been decided that instead of making you all wait an unreasonable amount of time, that Herzebania will not be presenting the final results. It's regrettable, and if there was any way around this I would have taken it, but real life must come first and there was simply no way I would have done them. Please still send your scores to me, as I will still be counting them up and putting the results together, but when it comes to the results on Sunday, I will not be presenting them. I'll now give the people whose capable hands the results will be left in, a chance to announce it themselves :)
