N-S Chart #1 Archives
394. "The Edge Of Glory" Lady Gaga (4 weeks) Reached #1: 26 June 2011 UK Chart Peak: #6 As one of the tracks frontloaded for the release of the "Born This Way Album", "The Edge Of Glory" had first charted in early May peaking as high as #10 and was on the way out of my chart until its proper single release propelled it from #36 to the topspot, which remains the biggest climb to #1 within my top 40 chart. Regarded as the album's highlight and featuring a saxophone solo by Clarence Clemons, "The Edge Of Glory" was 2011's longest running #1 in my chart. QeWBS0JBNzQ

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Not their best song but for some reason when I think of U96 tracks, this one from 1993 springs to mind. a2qP8UJkXOA Their leader Alex Christensen was the Alex on the Alex Swings Oscar Sings 2009 Germany Eurovision entry.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
One of the rare tracks remixed by Robert Miles at the height of his fame. It was #69 on July 1996. hEUPCaN-ZZY And then there was DJ Dado's version of the X-File theme, unashamedly carbon-copied from Children, including the music video. rFxOW8SMsdg

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Although quite distant from the brilliance of Children, Fable is a great listen as well. At the time I thought Robert Miles would become a huge DJ/producer of say, David Guetta proportions and he would be remixing everyone and his dog just like Todd Terry after Missing.

first artist younger than yourself to get a #1 single
Just wondering, does Jessica Smith aka Sun Baby count as part of the performers on the Teletubbies #1?

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
I was in high school at the mid 90's and one of the most tuned satellite channels of the TV in the cafeteria was German music channel VIVA, that played lots of videos for Happy Hardcore tunes. One of those was this one. Is this Mental Theo the same one credited to Basshunter's "Now You're Gone"? aEA8EWAvMfQ

Favourite chart weeks?
The top 6 with brand new entries in early 2000 - Fill Me In, Flowers, Song For The Lovers, Deeper Shade Of Blue, The Bad Touch and Blow Ya Mind, plus Airwave at #10 - always stood out for me for some reason.

Favourite Christmas Chart Moments
Sales were so low in 2003 that pretty much every song in that year's Christmas chart top 10 sold enough to be on the year-end chart. Mad World and Darkness were in the year's top 20 and even Too Lost In You sold enough that week to become the year's 166th best-seller.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Missing is still a very pleasant listen twenty years on. The remix not only revitalized EBTG's career but also elevated Todd Terry to the Champions League of 90's DJ remixers together with David Morales, Junior Vasquez, Armand Van Halden and Joe T. Vanelli. Anyone who was anyone in music in the 90's wanted a remix of at least one of those five.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Looking back it's strange how N-Trance's take on Stayin' Alive was so successful. Very limp and lazy cover. Go figure why N-Trance went on the dodgy cover route when they had strong original material.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
I Luv U Baby is a 90's house classic and is still a good listen even if sounds a tad dated. And I've just realized that my favorite dance song of 1995 hasn't made into this list. RVukIhibLYM

Great chart mysteries...
Although the music video had made a huge impact and it was one of the closest things to mainstream he had ever done, but it was still surprising that Aphex Twin's Windowlicker was able to enter the top 20 (#16).
