  1. Enrique Iglesias's Be With You was a US #1 but did not chart in the UK.
  2. Another victim of the World Cup Third Place curse. Whenever an European team (except Germany) is third on a World Cup, they don't qualify for the following Euro Cup. Portugal - 3rd in the 1966 World Cup > DNQ Euro 1968 Poland - 3rd in the 1974 and 1982 World Cups > DNQ Euro 1976 and 1984 France - 3rd in the 1986 World Cup > DNQ Euro 1988 Italy - 3rd in the 1990 World Cup > DNQ Euro 1992 Sweden - 3rd in the 1994 World Cup > DNQ Euro 1996 Croatia - 3rd in the 1998 World Cup > DNQ Euro 2000 Turkey - 3rd in the 2002 World Cup > DNQ Euro 2004 The Netherlands - 3rd in the 2014 World Cup > DNQ Euro 2016 Only Germany, who were 3rd in 1970 (West Germany), 2006 and 2010 have beaten the curse.
  3. Norway was in the EURO 2000.

The version of Don't Give Me Your Life that led the UK release is the "Classic Alex Party Mix". But this "Original Mix" is the version I'm the most familiar with. Granted it has a random and useless rapping part in but at least it's squeeky-synth free. 5PhOfDcCVE4

Sia and Jackie Chan had a baby.
  6. Everyone remembers that Aurora for that cover, which was good but for me their debut top 20 hit was even better. 6TdHLdK4stM

I prefer to remember Rednex for their ballad Wish You Were Here.

In my local radio's dance music show, the presenter would play this remix rather than the original. My fave Baby D tune is So Pure. D8hsYrr4-6U
  9. "Sax" released on the day of Adolphe Sax's - the inventor of the saxophone - 201st birthday
  10. I've read once this story that in the USA, people were buying British band Suede's records, mistakenly thinking they were by an American jazz singer named Suede. She sued the band who thus released their material in the US as The London Suede.
  11. The OCC archive denotes what can be three different artists under the moniker Michelle - Michel'le (No More Lies, #78 in 1990 and featuring in The Dogg Pound's Let Play House, #82 in 1996) - Michelle (Standing Here Alone, #69 in 1996) - Pop Idol Season 2 winner Michelle McManus, whose two singles All This Time and The Meaning Of Love were released under just her first name.

Lest we forget, Olaf "O-Jay" Jeglitza performed under The Real McCoy in Poland's 2006 Eurovision entry. n7pL-jaEnwQ
  13. Three different artists have had chart hits under the moniker Nicole - Nicole Hochloch who had a #1 with her 1982 Eurovision winning song A Little Peace and #75 follow-up Give More Time - Nicole Ray's 1998 #22 hit Make It Hot (featuring Missy Elliott and Mocca). Her follow-up I Can't See (#55) was released as Nicole Ray. - Another artist named Nicole had a # 69 hit in 1996 Runnin' Away. Not the same thing but remember that singer named RHIANNA who had the 2002 top 20 hit Oh Baby and barely missed the top 40 with follow-up Word Love?

Whereas the original version of Another Day is basically Saturday Night redux, I remember Whigfield performing this version instead on TV appearances in my country. oONhYZHV6oE

Say When were actually Dutch, one of the members being mother to Eva Simons. Giovanna "Jenny" Bersola has quite an history for providing vocals for acts fronted and lipsynched by other women: she also sang Playahitty's The Summer Is Magic fronted by Marion Playahitty and J.K.'s "You & I" fronted by Marta Simlat. And just like in Corona's Try Me Out and Baby Baby, some of other songs by Playahitty and J.K. were sung by Sandra Chambers. While the most famous edit of Rhythm Of The Night is the one that samples "Playing With Knives", I also had a compilation album that had the Lee Marrow remix and therefore both versions are equally iconic for me. My fave Tony Di Bart track is the fourth single "Turn Your Love Around" that peaked at #66. Z4Scb-MZSts

The vocals sounded to me like "Doop doop baby, what'cha gonna do"

I didn't know that track with such title. I only knew Move Your Body and Express Your Freedom. Cappella's 1996 track "Turn It Up And Down" had a remix by legendary 90's remixer Todd Terry. vAuEYXV-WuI

The blue corridor video for UG2LTM is better but I have a soft spot for the falling shoes video.

Ironically my fave 2 Unlimited track is their only non-dance single, "Nothing Like The Rain". But at the time I also listened to this "Rainy Remix" as much as the ballad version. 4yb9aqN7HP4

So many memories. 1993 was the year I first had MTV Europe at home and when I started following the UK chart.

My favourite Utah Saints track is 1995's (#42 in the UK Chart), mixing up Ohio Players' Fire, Jocelyn Brown's Somebody Else's Guy and KC & The Sunshine Band's That's The Way I Like It.

I actually have a softpsot for that charted at #62.
