Dance Chart Number Ones 2000 - 2009
Haven't listened The Way in quite some years. Althought it sounds more 1997 rather than 2003 (it's like the N-Trance and Tina Cousins collaboration that never happened), it's still a bop.

It's a shame that she never got to perform Brighter Day on TOTP. Or that it was a top 40 hit, for that matter.

I find Shiny Disco Ball rather annoying.

Cover Versions
The original version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Richard Hazard instead of being a feminist anthem becomes a hymn to cheating nymphomaniacs as shown on the middle 8 that was left out Cyndi Lauper's version: I know your love for him Is deep as day is long I know you'd never be the Thing to do him wrong But when I knock on the door I'm close now, you could come It really wasn't important 'Cause girls just wanna have fun Yeah, girls just wanna have fun

Why it took so long to release ATC's Around The World in the UK? Scooter's longetivity is baffling especially since they make the same music over and over. Dance beats and that guy shouting. I don't mind Mad'House take on Like A Prayer, and their version of Holiday (that also recovered a famous mash-up with Music Sounds Better With You) was better.

At the time, there was definitely a discrepancy of what Paffendorf actually was (a producer-driven dance act) and how it was being promoted (a Steps-like showcase with two girls and two guys ) From the NOW 52 booklet: Formed in Germany in 1998, Paffendorf are twin brothers Patrick & Alex (who, incindentally, are both trained dentists!) and vocalists Tanja and Camilla The same happened with other dance acts at the time like Alice Deejay (I remember Judy saying on an interview that the group was her and the two dancers that accompanied, and that the three of them were all DJs) and Ian Van Dahl (with Annemie being quoted as stating that Ian Van Dahl was her DJ pseudonym).

Funny how being actually a trance act, Pafendorf was at the the time of Be Cool marketed as a Steps-like act, although I don't think most (if any at all) of the people who served as the faces for the project actually sang in the tracks.

Two great classics to wrap up 2001. Still love both Who Do You Love Now and Gotta Get Thru This today. Here's a 2001 mix of dance hits (at least in Germany) before starting 2001. iVgJTrim1IA

Any love for the follow-up single? And am I the only one who think that Nadia Ali and M.I.A. look so much alike? 9-MgTXY-HCk

Castles In The Sky is very good and is still a pleasant listen. My favorite Annemie-sung Ian Van Dahl track is Try. The Superman Lovers' follow up to Starlight, Hard Stuff, is worth a listen and its video is definitely worth a watch. TSx1PLHZ3m0

Another Chance is one of those songs I cannot disassociate the video from the song. Everytime I listen to it and I immediately picture the actress carrying around that giant heart and expect to hear the dialogue "It's small now. It was bigger before".

Thanks for that. Once you know all that, you can pretty much catch the actual Everyman's lyrics in Sal Soul Nugget, even the sped up sample sounds like it may have different lyrics.
