  1. A standard Greatest Hits would definitely have sold more - I think calling it Odyssey and reworking a lot of the tracks stopped it reaching the sales a greatest hits album should do. No1 is still nothing to be ashamed of though. One of the things I'm enjoying seeing on the European leg is more spontaneity that you can get from smaller more intimate shows - Howard crowd surfed in Vienna and Gary hit an amazing falsetto note that lasted ages in Relight My Fire - the UK shows did seem extremely scripted. Also, they're changing their outfits for each show and look fantastic. Still think Europe have been short changed with the setlist though. Today is the last show of the tour. What an experience it has been.
  2. Plus Sure. Which would be crap without the dancers, so understandable. Howard's done tonight's gig with an eyepatch after he hurt his eye. Also, great news about the Cardiff gig being released on DVD. I'll definitely be getting that - it was an amazing show. I finally bought Odyssey - I'll post my thoughts soon. I'm probably 50/50 on the new versions.
  3. Not to keep banging on about this, but the Dusseldorf crowd are not happy if Insta comments are anything to go by. Lots of people feeling short changed. It's not a great move by TT to go about pissing off their European fan base (which is dwindling, let's be honest.) I've watched the version of Babe from last night, they're not even doing the bridge at the end (my eyes etc), they're just stopping after the two verses and a chorus. What? No strings either, just the three of them. If they are paying the same as we did, they really are not getting their monies worth. Here's the European setlist: Greatest Day Shine Get Ready For It Giants Patience Pray Everything Changes It Only Takes a Minute Could It Be Magic Babe A Million Love Songs Back For Good Out of Our Heads Everlasting These Days The Flood Cry Relight My Fire Rule the World Never Forget Not sure how Cry and Get Ready For It are priorities on a Greatest Hits tour over How Deep which was No1 in lots of Europe.
  4. Don't know anything about that I'm afraid, I was presuming he meant for Take That. Exactly. They're not doing LAHA either, I mean what's the excuse for that? Lots of fans feeling short changed. He's definitely full of energy, but he posted a rather close up selfie on Insta and it struck me how much he's aged in 2 years. His face has lost a lot of definition.
  5. So it seems like some European fans aren't too happy about the show they're getting - it's obviously not the full Odyssey experience, how can you fit a massive ball and dancers in a theatre, so cutting some numbers like Sure and Spin makes sense, but apparently they're also not doing How Deep Is Your Love and Said It All which were the B stage numbers, leading to a much shorter show. Different band as well. And the original Pray (which I would've preferred to see in the UK). So really it's just a standard Take That gig, not much to do with Odyssey. A further aside but how much has Mark aged in the last two years. Wonderland tour he still looked very similar to how he had done for the last 10 years, but he looks much older and thinner now. I wonder if he has a health problem.
  6. Gary said in a recent Instagram reply that there would be news on America soon.
  7. We were doing that in Brum too. It honestly is an amazing show. I could see it so many times. Sadly, my bank balance can't
  8. Great to see Love Thing and Never Give Up in the setlist, just what we wanted. Lots of complaints about the sound though.
  9. Agree with this. Was expecting to see them all over twitter. Not a word.
  10. Went for the second time tonight, even better show than the first. The last Arena show of this tour. All the songs sounded fantastic. Two snippets I found interesting from the tour programme. The band's favourite song to play live is Sure, and they're delighted it's back for the first time since Beautiful World. And Mark is really happy to be singing Babe again, having not sung it properly since Ultimate, as he didn't feel it fit with the second iteration of Take That. What an unforgettable experience Odyssey Live has been.
  11. It was also fantastic to see full versions of hits like Sure, LAHA, Babe which haven't been played much on previous tours. Sure was last played Beautiful World tour, Babe (Mark singing) Ultimate, LAHA (all three) Ultimate. Plus of course Everything Changes. So really special to see all on once concert. The only negative for me was no original version of Pray, the slow one was alright but I was just waiting for the drummer to come in and then they could go into the dance. A shame.
  12. My first ever Take That concert last night. Was seated very far back but luckily the B stage was right in front of us which was great. Was nice to see the parts being shared with Howard and Mark in Could It Be Magic and Love Ain't Here Anymore. Agree with others that Howard is on top form, he sounds really confident singing and there's no doubt in his abilities. Again agree that Mark is sounding the worst of the three, but still decent. Babe was fantastic, but he struggled in Everlasting, which I thought he would. Overall an amazing experience. They really powered though all the hits. Loved the stage, Rick Astley, and Lulu as well. Lots of bang for your buck there.
  13. Everlasting is getting constant plays on Radio 2, might be helping? All booked for Birmingham, can't wait.
  14. Having just joined and read through this thread, it's so negative. I think it's great that they've got a remixed greatest hits album to Number 1 - I wasn't expecting it, with the biggest first week sales of 2018. These are things to be proud of.
  15. Is this true? There a couple of tickets left for the Birmingham shows and I'm thinking of going, but if they're going to do the Odyssey Pray, I probably won't. I really don't like it.
