Such a good Summer NOW, but that second Disc of Rock/BritPop/Indie can be struggle to get though. The Artwork is also gorgeous - love the colour schemes for it. It really screams Summer in my opinion. Faves from the album for me are: 1 Hanson - MMM Bop (03:58) 2 Eternal/Bebe Winans - I Wanna Be The Only One (03:35) 3 The Cardigans - Lovefool (03:16) 4 No Doubt - Just A Girl (03:27) 5 Sash!/Rodriguez - Ecuador (03:32) 6 No Mercy - Where Do You Go (04:17) 7 Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are (03:43) 8 Ultra Naté - Free (03:50) 9 Rosie Gaines - Closer Than Close (03:43) 11 En Vogue - Don't Let Go (Love) (04:02) 12 Shola Ama - You Might Need Somebody (03:51) 13 Coolio/40 Thevz - C U When U Get There (03:41) 19 Backstreet Boys - Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) (03:41) 20 N-Tyce - Hey DJ! 5. Fingers crossed. It's turning into my favourite song of the year so far.
  6. These are the ones I'd love to see.I wonder if Kesha would be licensable since she's independent now.

I was never a fan because they just looked and felt lazy. The album would've been so good if all the songs were car/roadtrip themed. So songs like "Mustang Sally", "Vroom Vroom", "Scream If You Wanna Go Faster", and "Jesus Take The Wheel" were included. What would have you included?
  9. It's so odd about the Spice Girl one. They even use the mix in the advert! 3rFDphHPgbQ?si=BsUh-vro5gXc-a1G The CD booklet does say something like "the lengths of the tracks might be different compared to the original NOW releases" Other than that, it's a good album to have playing in the car and even for parties.

But still has some great songs on it.
  11. The wait is over! NOW Yearbook '93 - Extra arrived August 9th! My immediate reactions: Dannii made it! :w00t: Michelle Visage now has two appearances on the Yearbooks (Previously on 90 - Extra with her band Seduction). Whilst R.E.M. are here "Everybody Hurts" hasn't been included, instead it's "Nightswimming" There's a few re-release remixes, including 'Fade to Grey' (previously on Yearbook '80), We Are Family (previously on Yearbook '79), and Copacabana (previously on Yearbook 78). "No Limit" is a no-go? Perhaps the UK Edit wasn't available and so they just skipped it all together. Shocking that "Babe" by Take That, and "Don't Walk Away" by Jade were saved for the Extra edition, they seem like quite big hits imo. What is everyone thinking?
  12. I agree. I feel like they hand picked the songs they wanted instead of just putting a bunch of songs that were available at the time on 5 discs.
  13. My top 5 from each disc is: 01: Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On (I think this was the first appearance for this song on the NOW Series which was so exciting to see at that point) 02: Spice Girls - Wannabe 03: Adele - Someone Like You 04: Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time 05: Steps - Tragedy 01: Katy Perry/Snoop Dogg - California Gurls 02: Fugees - Killing Me Softly (first appearance for this song as well) 03: Coolio/L.V. - Gangsta's Paradise 04: Lady Gaga - Poker Face 05: DJ Fresh/Rita Ora - Hot Right Now 01: Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights 02: Sinéad O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U 03: Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock 04: David Bowie - Let's Dance 05: Adam and the Ants - Stand And Deliver
  14. Yeah, that is a weird glitch. Like you say though - that's the only thing wrong. It is a solid spin-off!
  15. Also released today 12 years ago was: CD 1 1 Adele - Someone Like You 2 George Michael - Careless Whisper 3 Robbie Williams - She's The One 4 Take That - Patience 5 Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around 6 Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On 7 Boyzone - No Matter What 8 Gnarls Barkley - Crazy 9 All Saints - Never Ever 10 Hear'say - Pure & Simple 11 Britney Spears - Baby One More Time 12 Spice Girls - Wannabe 13 Steps - Tragedy 14 Blondie - Heart Of Glass 15 ABBA - Dancing Queen 16 Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive 17 Black Box - Ride on Time 18 Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls 19 The Human League - Don't You Want Me 20 Tony Christie - Is This The Way To Amarillo CD 2: 1 Rihanna/Jay-Z - Umbrella 2 Gotye/Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know 3 Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are 4 Katy Perry/Snoop Dogg - California Gurls 5 Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 6 David Guetta/Sia - Titanium 7 DJ Fresh/Rita Ora - Hot Right Now 8 Cheryl - Fight For This Love 9 Jessie J - Domino 10 Lady Gaga - Poker Face 11 Tinie Tempah - Pass Out 12 Shaggy/RikRok - It Wasn't Me 13 Coolio/L.V. - Gangsta's Paradise 14 Fugees - Killing Me Softly 15 Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling 16 Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head 17 R. Kelly - I Believe I Can Fly 18 Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger 19 The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work 20 Coldplay - Paradise CD3: 1 Billy Joel - Uptown Girl 2 The Beach Boys - Good Vibrations 3 Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock 4 David Bowie - Let's Dance 5 Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through the Grapevine 6 Rod Stewart - Maggie May 7 10cc - I'm Not In Love 8 The Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody 9 Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me 10 Soft Cell - Tainted Love 11 Dexys Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen 12 The Jam - Going Underground 13 Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick 14 Adam and the Ants - Stand And Deliver 15 Sinéad O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U 16 Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights 17 The Animals - House Of The Rising Sun 18 Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale 19 Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water 20 Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World They've done a few "No. 1" themed albums now, but this one is still the best one in my opinion. The mix of old and new songs for the time is well balanced, and that artwork is so striking! Disc 1 starting off with sing-a-long ballads followed by camp party classics is just brilliant as well. What is everyone's fave songs from each disc?
  16. Can we get back to talking about the NOWs, and also treat people in this thread with some respect please. The talk of AI/Photoshop is really off topic. Anyway, here are what I'm most happy to see on NOW 118! 1. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso 2. Billie Eilish - LUNCH 4. Dasha - Austin (Boots Stop Workin') 7. Perrie - Forget About Us 8. Dua Lipa - Training Season 9. Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe! 10. Ariana Grande - we can't be friends (wait for your love) 11. Olivia Rodrigo - obsessed 12. Tate McRae - exes 17. Artemas - i like the way you kiss me 21. Badger & Natasha Bedingfield - These Words 22. Orville Peck, Kylie Minogue & Diplo - Midnight Ride 23. Pet Shop Boys - Dancing Star 24. Nemo - The Code CD 2 5. Dua Lipa - Illusion 7. SZA - Saturn 10. Charli xcx - 360 15. Mabel - Vitamins There's so much I haven't listened to yet, so I'll probably discover some amazing songs in a few weeks. Plus this line up of Perrie, Dua, Chappel, and Ariana is just pure pop brilliance.
  17. Spiral posted a post in a topic in The Music Lounge
Love the inclusion of "Rain" by Madonna. It's one of my favourite Madonna singles of all time. Would you go for the Album Version or the Radio Mix?
  18. That artwork is gorgeous! I think the only omission for me is "Set My Heart On Fire", 'cos you can never have enough Celine Dion. Especially since she's only appeared twice on the Numbered Nows
  19. It's easy to say, but I'm going to assume you know nothing about licensing in general, let alone for a compilation album. It's not like a Spotify/Apple Music playlist - you have to pay to make a physical release and that includes licensing artists. Songs are EXPENSIVE! Artists are now in more of a role of what they can do with their catalogue - if they say "no" they mean it! Rare occasions like Charity, Award, or Big Budget Soundtrack compilations can make their money back with sponsors or label backing (or licensing is a bit lenient due to a quick and easy charitable image). “Here's some stats to make you understand that it's not NOWs fault. Taylor Swift hasn't appeared on a non-NOW album since 2012, which was a Radio 2 album. So it was probably backed by the BBC or had a bigger budget. Since then Taylor didn't make a Clubland, a Pop Party, a "Your Songs" themed album, or any other themed/chart CD. Beyonce's last appearance was a remix of "Formation" on an Annie Mac album - again, similar situation of either backing from BBC or a bigger budget - or maybe Annie could pull the strings? "But what about the USA NOWs". It's one disc, and they probably get given the same kind of budget the UK gets, so they can splash some cash on bigger names like Taylor Swift. The Grammy albums were quite the prestigious compilation - so big acts were fine with their names appearing, especially if it meant getting closer to winning an award. But even they couldn't get Rihanna with "Work" for the 2017 edition - even though she was nominated. I really wish you'd read and acknowledge this kind of information and just accept that NOW isn't the almighty juggernaut of music! Even they have their limits, they always have! This is the compilation that couldn't get Madonna, Michael Jackson, Los Del Rio!!!!!!!, or the Baha Men! If you don't like the NOWs anymore, don't buy them - just make a playlist! Then you can add as much "urban" music and as much Taylor Swift you want and you can never have to worry about the "R2 style" artists infiltrating your ears ever again”
  20. George Michael & Queen - Somebody To Love 2 Unlimited - No Limit Take That - Babe Culture Beat - Mr Vain DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Boom! 21. “New” to the NOW series includes: LL Cool J feat. Jennifer Lopez - Lose Control Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway Emma Bunton - Downtown Shayne Ward - No Promises Ronan Keating - Iris Pet Shop Boys - I’m With Stupid Death Cab for Cutie - I Will You Into the Dark Christina Aguilera - Hurt Rufus Wainwright - Going To A Town John Mayer - Gravity Celine Dion - Taking Chances Michael Buble - Lost Shayne Ward - If That’s Okay With You Spice Girls - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) Amerie - Gotta Work What a great collection of songs. 22. Myabe this is were Waterloo will included as well.
  23. I have no idea what Volume 1 was, but with artwork like this it makes me wish we had something more interesting to celebrate than what we had for the 40th anniversary last year. 1. 24. Nice to see Troye Sivan finally debut as a main artist. Rush should've been on NOW 115! Pet Shop Boys haven't appeared since NOW 72, so was not expecting to see them again. Quite iconic really J.Lo sneaking in another appearance as well? Fair play! I love that song Two Kylie songs! Amazing! And Natasha Bedingfield hasn't appeared on a NOW since 67! Glad Unwritten made it. Also, so many samples connect this album to so many other NOWs. Off the top of my head we have: Ella Henderson feat. Rudimental - Alibi / Coolio feat. L.V. - Gangsta's Paradise (NOW 32) Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday Girls / Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun (NOW 2) Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor (Not a sample, but was previously on NOW 51) David Guetta & Kim Petras - When We Were Young (The Logical Song) / Scooter - The Logical Song (NOW 52) If I've missed any, let me know.

The Buzzjack label is proud to present its latest collection! We present Buzzjack Presents: 2017! We have worked together to present 4 CDs of songs and artists that really defined the year in music! Kicking things off is the artist of the year with the song of the year Ed Sheeran and Shape of You, a Grammy award winning UK No. 1 single! Following it a selection of other big chart hits from the world of R&B/Rap with French Montana, DJ Khalid & Friends, and Camila Cabello. It also featured big pop hits from Rita Ora, Shawn Mendes, and Anne-Marie. Finishing off with floorfillers from Jonas Blue, Sigala, and The Chainsmokers. Disc 1 is just an appetizer of what else is to come on the other discs! Disc 2 showcases the Latin-Pop takeover with the unstoppable hit Despacito (Remix) by Luis Fonsi/Daddy Yankee/Justin Bieber, and big hits from Enrique Iglesias, and Little Mix & CNCO. Further down is the amazing R&B/Rap/HipHop songs that set the scenes for the year with big names like Jay-Z, BRIT Award winner Stormzy, and Kendrick Lamar. Ending with the Alternative Anthems that were on heavy rotation on stations like Radio 1, Kerrang, and "other cool stations'. Rock out to Kasabian, Imagine Dragons, and The Killers. Think of this disc as the BRIT Awards Album we should've had for 2018. Disc 3 is pure pop pleasure! Pop Princesses like Dua Lipa, Little Mix, Lady Gaga, and Kesha rub shoulders with Male Heartthrobs Olly Murs, and Justin Bieber. We also shine a light on some of the latest and greatest singer-songwriters with artists like Lorde, HAIM, and Shania Twain (who reached No. 1 with her album "Now" after a long hiatus). Disc 4 starts of with emotional ballads, including Harry Styles' debut single (and UK No. 1) Sign of the Times, Ed Sheeran's Perfect, and P!nk's poweful "What About Us". We're soon picking up the pace with Dance-Pop bangers from Jax Jones (You Don't Know Me feat. RAYE), and Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson's No. 1 "Symphony". We head to the clubs with Dance Anthems MK, Disciples, and Camelphat & Elderbrook, and finally ending it all with Steps' fantastic Scared of the Dark! We hope this album is enjoyable and depicts the best songs, artists, and memories of 2017! Please enjoy and let us know what you think. Also, yes Loreen didn't make it, but we should all actually morn the loss of 'Go To Work' by Nadine.
