I don't think it's messy or ridiculous, it's just the euphoric 27-year-old Gaga's way of expressing herself. Y'all should choose your words better when referring to her.

US first week sales of the 7th album by female artists: Taylor's Lover - 867k Janet's All for You - 605k Pink's Beautiful Trauma - 408k Madonna's Ray of Light - 371k Beyoncé's Renaissance - 332k Mariah's Rainbow - 323k Whitney's I Look to You - 305k Britney's Femme Fatale - 276k Rihanna's Unapologetic - 238k I hope LG7 debuts with at least 300k.

I wish she had reproduced that scene or flown on a plane at the Oscars performance (obviously an outside shot). I don't like that stripped-down performance of the song.

Chromatica would have easily opened with over 300k in its debut week if COVID hadn't f***ed up by closing stores + if Gaga hadn't closed her store out of respect for the BLM protest, as well as dropping the album and disappearing. With a strong schedule and wisdom to spend the budget, LG7 has everything to debut with over 300k.

The sound is a mess but the photoshoots of this era are amazing.

It definitely would have sold more. I can't believe GP saw the official ARTPOP cover in stores and thought: I'm going to buy this album. The cover is visually polluted, sales of this album certainly came mostly from Gaga fans than from casual listeners at the time. A less crowded cover like that shoot would provide the necessary balance in the face of the chaos of the era.

Applause was definitely not a flop and was the only possible option for ARTPOP's lead single. The album doesn't have any other radio-friendly songs besides Applause and DWUW. G.U.Y. is ok but had no radio spot in 2014.

A single that peaked at #4 and spent 14 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the Hot 100 was anything but a dud. Ok, there was all that Applause vs Roar drama in the beginning, but anyone who thinks Applause was a flop just because it didn't hit #1 doesn't know anything about charts.

If that was the album cover, everything would have been totally different. ARTPOP is a mess starting with its cover.
