Guys and gals...Madonna, the almighty is nominated for yet another award! This time the peoples choice awards have placed her in their category of 'Favourite combined Forces' for her hit duet '4 Minutes' with Justin which has now sold an incredible 2.2 million copies alone in America and became her 37th US top ten hit when it immediately peaked at #3 in April this year!! I strongly disagree. :rolleyes: Although the album has been produced by hip hop/rn'b producers, both Madonna and her collaborators have somewhat managed to retain some pop elements infused in tracks such as Give it 2 Me and Miles Away amongst others. Madonna is aware that she is a dance/pop artist and she's carefully crafted material that consists of both dance/pop and r'nb. I'm not a fan of hip hp/r'nb myself and i would never have bought this CD had it been purely that but thanks to Madonna's pure genius in mixing musical sounds and trends, the album is a fine selection of a wider range of musical genres. ;)

Well i have to agree, i've always thought the world music awards were a bit pathetic, Celine Dion and Mariah winning the same awards like every year, i'm sure the artists are concerned sometimes! lol So obviously, it aint Madonna's style to participate in trashy stuff like this but i guess its just another award for our madgesty :) Kelly, we must remember that Madonna is a bigger seller than Mariah in Europe so the extra 2.1 is valid. By the way, Hard Candy has sold 3, 094 but i just rounded it off. :) And before u kill me for it, MC's record company have been rounding off her album sales by additional millions for years so y'know :P So Hard Candy's sales are pretty much real. Even though 3, 094 is hardly amazing, its still good that Madonna has the 3rd biggest selling album worldwide and its been officially stated! :smoke:

Madonna Miles Away?? :(

At the 20th annual World Music Awards held in Monaco, Monte Carlo last night, Madonna won an award for the best selling American artist worldwide this year. Madonna was not there to accept her award because she was busy performing her Sticky & Sweet Tour in Las Vegas this weekend. This World Music award is in recognition for Madonna's album Hard Candy having the highest global sales for an artist from the United States this year. Hard Candy is so far 2008's 3rd best-selling album with sales of 3.1 million to date. This also makes Madonna the highest-selling US worldwide artist too! I like the sound of that! :dance: Congratulations to Madonna and all her fans! :)

Wow what a truly special night! Probably the best concert date so far! All those surprises and Madonna in sucha crazy ass mood! The reviews in America just keep getting stronger and stronger!! I really hope all this positivity has an effect on CD sales next week in the US! This album must sell 700k before the tour ends next month!! Britney looked cute but nervous! Her outfit was a bit inappropriate too! JT was cool! Great show!!!

American Life will always remian as her lowest selling record. No doubt Hard Candy will surpass it eventually!!

5k? lol I'm sure they said that about Get 2Gether and Jump and theres still hundreds available at my local Zavvi and HMV stores! 2-TRK CD single is one big mistake! What about all the remixes?! Hope Miles Away at least makes #11 nothing lower please Lord! :(

I had the joy of seeing M twice this past summer (Cardiff + Wembley) and this particular interlude was just mind blowing. It was totally incredible and i danced my ass off :)

If there was gonna be a 4th single then it would have to be Beat Goes On definately cos its kinda more US friendly aswell which is a big + in her case!!

According to Madonnatribe, Warner Music in the Netherlands have confirmed that 'Miles Away' will indeed have a live video clip to promote the new single. It will comprise of footage from the S&S tour and not the promo tour from earlier this year. Phew!

A live video is better than no video and at this rate, i doubt we'll even get one as nothings been announced yet! Theres a fanmade video clip on youtube. Its awesome! Its basically her performance of the track during the promo stop in Kent mixed in with clips of her and Guy. Its actually quite emotional and really fits in with the track. The 'artistic creator' behind the clip is trying to get the attension of MTV and VH-1 so they can play it! That would be awesome i reckon!!

True, Warners have totally messed up Madonna's singles since the Music era! I'm so glad shes leaving them!! With regards to Miles Away, firstly i have to say that its an excellent choice for a single a i totally love this song!! Again, Madge should've done a video perhaps during tour rehearsals i mean come on...if she can do videos for interludes and photoshoots then why not a video for a single? At this rate, obviously she won't do one so i hope to God that they premiere a live video real soon!! So sad about her divorce but the press have been mentoning Miles Away quite a lot ever since that 'guy dig' in Boston last week so i mean, maybe it'll give the single some exposure! lol For now though, i'm embracing myself for a top 10 miss :( #11 or #12 i reckon!
