  4. im a huge fan of Paul Weller's career since I first heard The Jam's "that's entertainment" as a 13 year old back in 1980... and occasionally I ponder as to how he will be remembered when he dies... will he be regarded as an influential artist? will he be admired as a great songwriter? will he be revered as an eclectic innovator? will he achieve 'legendary' status" thoughts and opinions good and bad welcomed...
  5. "rap devil" is a superb song... Eminem needs to sit back, take note, and re-learn his craft from this song... unfortunately though, ive heard nothing else by MGK that comes close to this one

Kamikaze.... I own everything by him except this new one...I listened to it on Spotify but liked not a single track... I wasn't impressed with the previous album "marshall mathers 2" neither, but I found it in a discount bin so I bought it, will probably buy Kamikaze when it hits the discount bins just to keep the collection complete... for the record, "recovery" "is my favourite of his
  7. I own all of The Killers' albums plus Flowers' solo albums... its my least favourite of all their albums but I still like it
  8. I love reading those sort of "best of..." lists whether its singles, songs, albums, drummers, vocalists, or in this case, guitarists... I rarely agree with them because afterall, theyre all only opinions of those writing them... but i'll throw my hat in the ring here... im a huge fan of Paul Weller but really, a great guitarist??? come on! same goes for Noel Gallagher who is very average to say the least! I thought bluesman Buddy Guy would have been on the list, after all, Eric Clapton calls him "the greatest blues guitarist of all time", I think EC's opinion counts for something! also, Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist of KISS, back in the day he was shit-hot on a bad day!
  9. I bought Arctic Monkeys' debut album which was pretty good, heard all their others on Spotify but disliked them and come to think of them as one trick pony's... that is until this new one... heard similarities to Bowie throughout it either musically or vocally... a good solid album...
  10. im a huge McCartney fan, I own everything he has officially released including the opera/classical and Fireman material... I was not a fan of the last three albums "chaos and creation in the backyard", "kisses on the bottom" or "new" but I thought Egypt Station was the return to form he needed, the album would be a fitting end to his career if he never released another album... I love three tracks off it: the rocker "who cares", the acoustic "happy with you" and despite its political overtones "despite repeated warnings"... I dislike three other tracks but overall, its pretty good for a guy 60+ years into his recording career...
  11. a very good song, love the choir... not so rapt about/with the overtly political message though
  12. Imagine Dragons are one of the most consistent bands around at the moment... they've made four very good albums so far.... favourite track off "origins" is "bullet in a gun"....
