Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 16/10/26
Hoping for Olivia to hit #1 if only to make up for her last two singles both just missing out x This song isn't as good but still would be one of the year's better #1s (I like it on about the same level as 'drop dead', maybe a little bit less still), not heard the Chappell remix yet though. Zach has actually done slightly better on Spotify than he has on Apple! His second and third entries are both also in the top 40 ('Lodi When' at #27 and 'Robot Killed The Working Man' at #39), and of course there are a lot of Fontaines album tracks ahead that will be subject to the 3 track rule, so hopefully this may be his first project to have more than one top 40 hit. (The rest of the EP is also all in the top 100). Wow at KETTAMA/Prospa debuting so much higher on Spotify than Apple, unusual for a dance song. Hoping it'll sound more like KETTAMA's other recent releases than Prospa's. Great showing for Fontaines - the order of the songs today is largely dictated by the tracklist as to be expected so 'Where Is Gone?' starts as only the 7th highest song but the numbers are all pretty close (<40k between it and the current third highest track 'Mimesis') - I guess 'Japan' is the bigger threat to crowding it out as one of their three charting songs since it has a music video and it's charting higher today despite being later in the tracklist. 'Marianne' seems like the only song that's 100% safe to assume will be one of their charting songs, the picture for the other two should be clearer tomorrow.

Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 22/10/26
I know, just saying I'm glad it is out of the top 40 by the time it's clawed back to being in her top 3 songs. (I guess it should be back to ACR in 2 weeks hopefully)

Friday Chart Predictions
Zach could get more than one new entry as well! (Olivia also won't be a new or re-entry technically x)

HALLOWEEN VI: “The Dark Room” Sign-up
It is, I'm not sure if the shortened name is meant to be a spooky reference to something or if Cow just got bored of typing out the full name xx

Thank Christ we are spared of 'Opalite' being top 40 again even though I take it it also got a reset x

'Starburster', 'Favourite' and 'Bug' were all slow burning sleeper hits (as was the 'Romance' album as a whole which had a really impressive chart run for an indie/rock album) so their next new album was always bound to have quite an emphatic debut!

HALLOWEEN VI: “The Dark Room” Sign-up
Doesn't need to be especially spooky but if the artist name is the only link that might be a bit tenuous x (A vaguely spooky song title may be enough tho xo)

Sales W/E 22/10/2026
If there were 3 CD variants then the vinyl might not be chart eligible depending on how the OCC interpret their own rules about a maximum of 3 physical formats (But as we can't have nice things watch them count anyway and she somehow gets a third extra week at #1 leeching off the same FOMO pre-order x)

Oh wow so close between Jamie and C&S in the end! The wording of this somewhat obfuscating that nearly all of the rest of its CD total "came from" the week before. (It seems to have somehow managed to add another ~200 CD sales since then, some must have really taken their time to ship as afaia it was never restocked (and surely would have sold a lot more if it was)).

Hopefully 'Marianne' can get a new peak (top 10 please? x), guessing it's likely that'll remain their top song.

Oh that's a much higher debut than I expected for Fontalía! At least it definitely has a chart position locked in even if it gets 3 track ruled next week. ROSALÍA's 7th top 100 hit, actually currently the lowest peaking of those surprisingly (for now she's had songs peaking at #53, #55, #56 and #57)! Fingers crossed it does stay one of the top three Fontaines songs next week and jumps at least 23 places to become ROSALÍA's highest peak instead x Lol this was the first of probably many, many 'chances' for Jamie Miller.

Lewis just saying he 'wrote several hit singles' is underselling how pervasive he is in the industry in recent years - first off he's more well known as a producer than a writer (though they go hand in hand). If you've been into any mainstream-but-sort-of-vaguely-alternative music in the last few years there's a strong chance Antonoff was behind it. For better or worse. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Antonoff_production_discography

I don't massively stan him tbf (I do like 'Earrings' a lot and generally enjoyed most of the other songs I've heard from him too but I accept the criticism that he's basically an off-brand Steve Lacy) but I feel the need to defend him from the constant posts insisting Audrey is so much better when I think it's her music that is pretty awful oop xx

The Pop Factor: Season 3 • The Six Chair Challenge in Szczecin
I could imagine Iz saving 'I Trance' maybe. Think that is my favourite Agnes song besides the obvious! (I didn't vote for 'Here Comes The Night' in PFSC so maybe there's a reason I don't remember it oop, will see if it clicks with me more when I listen to these songs x)

Malcolm's 2025 album has a higher user score on Album of the Year than Audrey's btw (and the 2024 mixtape that 'Earrings' is from is higher than both). x ((His newest album not so much, but he was quite 'fan acclaimed' before that)) Don't love the timing of giving P!nk a chart revival lol but 'Just Give Me A Reason' is a song that's held up shockingly well to overplay imo, I actually probably like it more now than when it was first charting.

'Earrings' still flitting around while 'Sue me' is long gone, the public gets things right sometimes ❤️

Great that Jamie T and Chase & Status held their top 2 positions! (Would have loved for C&S to get a #1 album but at the start of the week I am not sure I'd even have expected it to go top 5). Feels a bit odd that Jamie T went so long without a #1 album and now has 2 in a row quite a long time after what seemed like the peak of his relevance but I heard '3310' on R1 recently and enjoyed it so he's still putting out some good stuff.

'Good Girl' is such a ridiculous song but I'm lying if it's not a guilty pleasure, I'd definitely rather listen to it than 'Free Your Mind'. (Prospa have much, much better songs than either in their back catalogue though, shoutout to the excellent instrumental 'Boy Racer')

Lol people speculating they'd play the Chappell version of 'expectations' and instead they skip it entirely 💀 (what's the betting the producers assumed it was a re-entry lol)

Never heard of Season 25, I see comparisons to PARTYNEXTDOOR from a (somewhat difficult) Google which doesn't fill me with hope, also get that apostrophe out of the title xx for another artist making a chart breakthrough though - a bit less established than last week's but I see he's been releasing singles since 2023.
