I'm pretty certain he was being ironic. Alex does actually seem to have a surprisingly strong fanbase for an adult contemporary commercial radio slop artist. Not sure where those fans are though. In the real world I guess. x (in fairness he was a social media personality before he was a musician, though I don't see what about his old content warranted a fanbase either)

Dolly Parton (for now) blocking 'Loser' from the top 10 and 'Sue me' from the top 20... I see this as an absolute win x (fab to see 'Marianne' still managed to stay top 20 despite the triple Dolly ahead of it! so far not thinking it's quite one of their best songs (actually I think I still like even 'It's Amazing To Be Young' a bit more between their top 40 hits and it's definitely not in the same league as 'Starburster'/'Favourite'/'Bug' not to mention many of their uncharted songs) but still very good and I love to see them getting any success x)

Have been meaning to point this out for ages but Audrey Hobert's name has been spelt wrong here ever since she debuted (I think). x

His only previous album chart appearance was a weird case of initially charting as an EP and then that being expanded to a full length album but still continuing the chart run from the EP so it's not really directly comparable. But the "first" week of the "full" album was 20.8k.

Well per the sales report this week her top 3 songs literally account for more than 50% of her entire digital era consumption. I guess it's less than that right now but it's still pretty concentrated, the streaming boost for artists passing away is just always pretty short lived.

I confirmed it for now in case anyone else has the same idea anyway xo (the song is kind of old and seems to have gone under the radar on BuzzJack but there are ~reasons~ I've just come across it now) I might swap it out for some niche alt nonsense later in the week x

Oddly the song is omitted from the tracklist of its parent (Kenny Rogers) album on streaming so it's only available via Dolly Parton compilations.

If she has any songs going top 10 it's more likely to be next week when the Thursday stream estimates won't matter (again if anything they might help her).

Why 'thanks to the OCC'? If anything their rules might make it more likely that her songs will go top 10 (as some of the most streamed songs of the moment are on ACR while Dolly's hits will be reset).

'Free Your Mind' (she was added to the credits on the single on Spotify so kind of counts, although oddly she remains uncredited on the album tracklist so her name doesn't show up in the Spotify chart still and ofc her name wasn't added onto the OCC listings either). I mean don't get me wrong I would prefer if the numbers were actually accurate as well!

Not sure if you thought today was Thursday or if you think her streams will continue to increase tomorrow...! As far as certifications go the Thursday estimate being a bit out for one week is really a drop in the bucket. The only songs doing particularly huge numbers are already certified multiple times over. I can't see that it really matters that maybe some time months/years down the line one of her slightly less popular songs maybe takes an extra couple of weeks to hit a certification mark.

Being a little pedantic but it is still 24 hours of streams, it's a perennially popular song so it's not like it'd have been on 0 streams for the day before / regardless of the news.
