This is so good - can't help it from the other semi but I will be having some stern words if this isn't the one to end your DNQ streak! As I said on SyncTube it really feels like a musical sketch from The Mighty Boosh, both the song itself and the surreal visuals, I'm sure it must be consciously inspired by that if not a direct homage.

Did give this album a second listen yesterday although wasn't quite in time with the listening party oops (not that I ever comment along live with these things anyway). My opinions on the album are mostly not too different from what I thought on first listen, although I'll dump them here as I haven't posted on the forum about the album at all yet - the first and last songs are two of my favourite tracks on the album so a very strong start and finish, happy that 'kiss me' got to be a top 15 hit, not sure how likely it is to get a single push (I expect that if they go with another single at all 'like i do' might be the more obvious choice, and that is also a highlight for me so wouldn't be mad x). I really like both of the singles, 'petal' took a couple of listens but I actually like it more than 'hate that i made you love me' now. 'oh well' and 'bad thing (bunny hop)' are welcome moments of slightly more energetic production on the album, the 'Blinding Lights' formula has tired on me a bit by this point but am still enjoying the latter. 'stay' is solid as well and the interlude is pretty cool for what it is. The other few songs I've not mentioned didn't do much for me - although will say that on first listen I thought 'big feelings' was comfortably the worst song on the album and I take that back now, still one of the weaker songs but has a bit more to it than a couple of others. The whole album feels very The Weeknd-coded to me which is not a bad thing, it could perhaps do with a little bit more sonic variation but a good number of highlights and no songs that I outright dislike or anything. Voted - thought this was a great semi, I have a reasonably clear top 9 but then 7 or 8 songs that I could easily have given my 1 point to (in the end I stuck with the song that was provisionally at 1 point after the SyncTube session, but I did swap a few songs around within my top 9 and feeling happier with the order now). There is a song I haven't voted for (it is among that group of 7 or 8 songs fighting for 1 point) but will probably be stuck in my head for the rest of the day x

Was going to say the #75 for the whole of last week did barely over 7k so 6.4k for #64 would surely be too high even for a Thursday update. That being the position on the old rules chart makes more sense.

I sort of submitted a song but the artist was taken already (as I half expected they would be). Nevermind, I'll look for something else at some point x The song I kind of wanted to send would have been very well known compared to the typical Bror song contest entry anyway so maybe it's for the best, curious to hear the song that has been sent by them (assuming it's not one of their couple of even more well known songs lol).

(Also entered all 3 editions of the short lived Movie Forum Song Contest and never came close to winning that one lol)

I would have been unable to attend today as I'm at a motorway services waiting for a recovery truck so I shan't complain about this being put on hold for another week this time...!

I have roped myself into taking part in a second contest on PopJustice (deadnaming sorry x) although it's only once every 2 months (There are 4 contests on there, the other one I've entered the last couple of editions is for non English language songs only and then the other two are both retro contests somewhat analogous to The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! and Bop Idol, I still don't plan to bother with those ones x) I think uhsting's other 40 song contests are just on random Eurovision fansites but who knows.

I don't think I'd be able to join a Sunday one (ofc if other people want one go ahead x), but I might be able to do Tuesday this week Just got to be careful it doesn't create monstrosities like 'Bțatniki kă' #iykyk x Copy and pasting does work so that's at least one upside of the post-BBCode era!
