  1. I kind of thought he was one already tbh...! Hard to keep track of these things on the new site. (Congrats anyhoo x)

I mean I'll be slightly less mad at another Taylor physical drop this week when it's not denying what would have been the best #1 of the year but it'd really be beyond a joke for her to get not one but two extra weeks at the top when the song is nowhere near the most popular of the week just because the label is allowed to strategically distribute sales which were all made before the song even came out across multiple weeks. Guess we'll see what happens though x I really think all pre-order sales should just count to the originally stated release date regardless of when they ship. It's such a flawed system when release dates can be changed on a whim.
  3. It's been #1 on that list for some time! (Only a few days ahead of Wham! though so likely to be overtaken again in December unless it has another 20-odd days at #1 before then).

? A song dropping to ACR from #19 would almost definitely still be out of the top 40 (see 'Human Nature' going 15-45 last week).

I'm sure 'Rein Me In' would be back at #1 this week regardless of having another physical drop or not (unless Taylor has conveniently decided to leave another 30,000 CDs to ship until this week), it's already ahead of 'stupid song' on Spotify even excluding its multiple versions. (Of course this isn't the first time people have kept going on about an entirely superfluous Sam Fender physical drop but hey ho)
  6. I'm well aware of that thanks
  7. Yes. That would also be solved if it would just go away. x
  8. No one is disputing that. It's just boring. As are the 500 posts defending it every week and closely tracking its every move for months on end. Mind I will take 'Rein Me In' being back yet again over Taylor somehow ratfucking her way to a third week while she is so far seemingly not getting a boost at all from the film coming out (it's actually down a place to #30 on Spotify today...)
  9. Well this is some bullshit x
  10. overpass' BJSC entry from earlier in the year being added! Great to see Florence Road and James Blake A-Listed too <3 (when was the last time James was on the A-List? I feel like his last few adds stalled on B/C but not sure) Didn't realise they hadn't playlisted Temper City already, very odd timing to suddenly add it now.
  11. Shame 'maggots for brains' seems to be falling relatively among her album tracks, I think that's probably my 2nd favourite song on the album after 'the cure'. 'stupid song' is great as well though (possibly my 3rd favourite) so more than happy for that to get the #1 instead although in a perfect world that and 'the cure' can both be #1s please x I know it's early in the tracklist but surprised 'honeybee' is holding up so well as I don't think it sounds much like a hit!

Those were the Sunday sales, not Monday!
  13. Paul McCartney has done all of these and as a trio so this isn't even a record in the first place

Olivia's album was on 65.4k yesterday (so pre-orders/first 2 days of sales + 1 day of streams) per OpinionatedYute on Twitter!
  15. I think my earliest memory of anything at all was from when I moved house at age 4 so some time in probably 2001 - definitely needed to have a look through the posts in this thread for inspiration to answer the question and I thought my answer would be something from 2002 as I have no memory of 9/11, but actually I do also remember being aware of the foot & mouth outbreak of 2001 as it tied in with my mum's work! (In terms of single news events rather than that being an ongoing thing for months, it's probably the Queen Mother's death, which I tangentially remember because I was aware it happened the same day my sister broke her arm which is another of my earliest 'personal' memories). I don't think I will ever understand why so many people cared so much about Diana's death to the point it's been mentioned in half the posts in this thread but I was less than 1 year old when that happened so obviously no chance of me being aware of her while she was alive x
  16. I feel like it's a song that'd be awkward to sing along to even without being drunk (it's very wordy and syllable-heavy) so I really don't get it but hey ho
  17. Is there any actual evidence that 'Rein Me In' is suddenly a football song now or are people just guessing it will be? (I can't really picture how it would work as a chant, nevermind the song having nothing at all even remotely to do with football although I know that hasn't stopped 'Sweet Caroline' et al.)

It's only ahead by about 40k on Spotify today and I'd expect it's likely to drop behind it pretty quickly. (And I'm sure it was posted already that the vinyl release is a very limited one so shouldn't be a factor really).
  19. Video streams contribute very little to the chart overall, let alone the tiny minority of streams that may come from people not skipping ads within 30 seconds (if those even count at all).

'stupid song' will probably be the only charting new track unless another song holds up very well over the week to stay ahead of 'drop dead'.
  21. I can probably be there for a listenthrough today
  22. Why is 'Go' back in the chart?
  23. I feel the 'return to her roots' thing is being greatly exaggerated / overemphasised with this Taylor song. Maybe it'd feel more like a departure if she did the fake country accent again but to me this song just sounds like any number of mediocre album tracks from her last few albums just with some harmonicas slapped on (which tbf is the best part of the song lol). I've heard it on the radio about 4 times and I'm already bored of it, hope it doesn't stick around too long. I'd forgotten that Mac Miller had never had a top 40 before even as a feature - came so close with his very first chart entry peaking at #41 but finally got there now! I've still not heard it oops (fallen behind with listening to top 100 entries, need to catch up with my polls again ) but intrigued by the length of it x 'Blue World' should have been a big hit for him <3
  24. Just noticing Q-Tip is now credited on 'Go' on Spotify - I was sure I remembered him being credited when the song first came out but couldn't find any evidence that wasn't just me Mandela effecting myself, better late than never though!
  25. 'the cure' would be by far my favourite #1 of the year so far if it can pull it off so initiating prayer circle x (Looking back at the list of #1s I'd say my current favourite is probably still RAYE but close with Dave, Ariana, Olivia's 'drop dead' and Harry's 'American Girls' - all songs that I like a decent amount but wouldn't consider them massive highlights of the year, RAYE being a bit dulled by overplay in particular). Meanwhile Taylor is about to have a monopoly on the 2 worst #1s of the year for me ('I Knew It, I Knew You' is a lot better than 'Opalite' but still firmly mid oop)
