The Pop Factor: Season 3 • What's next?
I kinda stopped paying attention to the rankings after the start so yas at MARINA recovering from some early low placings to end up rightfully winning the round x (and nice for Fontaines getting a much more comfortable result this time yay)

Well I guess Roosevelt did ok for an artist who has never charted x Have found a lot of his songs to have quite a similar vibe but not in a bad way.- Jade's top 10 songs of each decade: 1960s - 2020s (so far!)
Super behind with commenting on this thread oops but belated thoughts on the 90s picks: I know I always meme about the Susan Boyle version of 'Enjoy The Silence' but genuinely don't think I'd ever heard the song prior to hearing her singing it on Children In Need in 2011 haha - I remember being a bit slow to get into the song when it was first properly introduced to me via this site but I have grown to really like it now so a fine choice of #1 (even though it does still feel more like an 80s song than a 90s one). I think my favourite from Depeche Mode would probably be 'Personal Jesus' but they are very consistently quality, another act I've been enjoying hearing more songs from through the 80s SyncTube sessions. I knew 'Frozen' first through my mum's playlists and I remember being quite shocked when I discovered that A) it was Madonna (as it is so stylistically different from everything I knew from her at the time) and B) it was such a massive hit, but for the better ofc as it is wonderful and definitely would be up there with my favourite 90s songs as well <3 'Right Here, Right Now', 'Unfinished Sympathy' and especially 'Born Slippy .NUXX' are also ones that'd definitely be in the mix for a list of my own as well as I've loved them for as long as I can remember, I also don't drink or do drugs etc. but I can't imagine how insane the latter sounds under the influence when it slaps so hard while entirely sober x For a long time I only knew Radiohead for 'Creep' and it was kind of a revelation when I discovered they had such a large and beloved discography - honestly I still think 'Creep' is my favourite song by them although I know that's a very unpopular opinion among their actual fanbase, 'No Surprises' is gorgeous though. I joined a listenthrough on here for 'OK Computer' and it is a very good album, from what I know of 'Kid A' I feel that might appeal to me even more but as ever I'm terrible at getting around to listening to old albums x Also joined the listenthrough on here for 'Moon Safari', 'Sexy Boy' was quite a surprising inclusion on this list, I didn't remember being massively keen on it but was a bit better than I remembered when I relistened (I looked up my post on here about the album and I didn't really highly rate most of the singles but I said 'Sexy Boy' was good but would be better as an instrumental which I still agree with now). 'Live Forever' and 'Viva Forever' being next to each other on the list is iconic x Both also classics and great picks, I might have to be even more basic and say my fave from Oasis would be either 'Wonderwall' or 'Don't Look Back In Anger' - they are overplayed but for a good reason! While 'Viva Forever' is very easily also my favourite from Spice Girls, their music is mostly not really my thing but this song is a standout in kind of a similar way that 'Frozen' is for Madonna (although I know Madonna does have more songs in that style). The video is nightmare fuel though x Never really been much of a fan of 'Your Woman', the best part of it is the instrumental which is a sample anyway oops - I do think it's an interesting song and it's cool that something so lo-fi was a #1 hit but I still don't particularly enjoy listening to it unfortunately! I do actually prefer the Naughty Boy/Wiley/Emeli Sandé version Could go on for a long time again about the songs that didn't make the list but obviously the biggest omission for me would be The Prodigy who would definitely have more than one of my top 10 90s songs - I'm not actually sure I know what your favourite song by them is, I wanna say it might be 'No Good (Start The Dance)' but may be making that up. Crazy to see so many other big electronic acts in your commiseration list not making it in too (as well as Nirvana and The Cure)! Much love for 'A Design For Life' too <3 Will catch up with and post separately about the 00s and 10s picks, I will try my best to be caught up before you finish the 20s x- The Pop Factor: Season 3 • Boot Camp: Part Two in Bratislava (Solo Female)
1 MARINA 2 Kate Bush 3 Adele 4 Robyn 5 Jessie Ware 6 Agnes 7 Zara Larsson 8 Sophie Ellis-Bextor 9 Leona Lewis I hope we're done with the people ranking 'I Am Not A Robot' so low because there's no way in hell that should be doing so much worse than her last two picks, still one of her best songs. More good picks from Kate and Adele, and as I said already I think this is one of Robyn's better songs that I know. I didn't immediately recall 'Hot N Heavy' from its title but quickly came back to me when I heard it - not as good as most of the original edition of the album but a solid deluxe track, a diet bop. Agnes' weird pronunciation of the word 'hours' constantly takes me out of the song a bit, minor nitpick I know but it somewhat spoils what could otherwise be a pretty great song, still like the production on it a lot. I think I recall not really liking 'Can't Tame Her' at first but it grew on me over time iirc and is sounding pretty decent these days. Likewise I don't think I liked 'Bittersweet' at the time but it's better than I remembered. 'Collide' is not terrible either but it's the clear weak link in a fairly strong bunch here.- The Pop Factor: Season 3 • Boot Camp: Part Two in Bratislava (Solo Male)
1 Gary Numan 2 Sam Fender 3 Damien Rice 4 Roosevelt 5 HRVY 6 Calvin Harris 7 Darin 8 Tom Grennan 9 Sam Smith (sans Calvin Harris) Still too easy for Gary even with a song I hadn't heard before, that's probably my best discovery of this season so far <3 wondering if he's just gonna be #1 by default for me every round while he's still in. Again as I said already it's another one of Sam Fender's best songs, so same top 2 for me as the last round. 'Cannonball' is really the only Damien song I was particularly familiar with before this and it's very good - feel like I don't hear it that much these days so it was nice to revisit. Roosevelt bringing the vibes again. This HRVY song is actually fairly decent, huzzah! (Of course it's one that Mango doesn't like as much lol). Don't care much for any of the bottom 4 - I actually had no memory of what I thought about 'Desire' when it came out (totally forgot it even existed frankly), just did a forum search and it turns out I hated it at the time lmao, I guess in that sense it has grown on me as I didn't think it sounded that bad now but not particularly good either. Still better than 'Dollar Signs' though. The trick of sending a Swedish language song didn't work for me a second time for Darin, found this one pretty bland. The Grennan song is an improvement on his last pick but still not doing much for me - he does have a couple of songs I really like but none of them have shown up yet. Seemingly an unpopular opinion but I never liked 'I'm Not The Only One', I can barely tell any difference between it and 'Stay With Me' which I had got beyond bored of within a few weeks of it coming out so the follow-up single being almost the exact same song to my ears was DOA.- The BuzzJack Friday Chart Show Thread: 9th October 2026
It is already the most streamed album track though! (Despite being one of the weaker songs on the album imo but then so was 'Dance No More' x)- Radio 1 Playlist (09/10/26): I'm a sucker for a storm in a blue moon
Would love if 'Melatonin' can become a hit somehow, only just heard it a couple of days ago but it is a full fat banger x- The BuzzJack Friday Chart Show Thread: 9th October 2026
Neat to see 4 artists with relatively long careers (all since at least 2020) getting their first top 40 hit just within the 36-40 section! Most pleased for Yung Lean ofc (the song is growing on me albeit still far from his best) but cool for the rest of them too. I have read a lot about the Morrisson song, intrigued to see if it continues to climb. Although anyone approving it for being a charting Digga D diss track may take that back as I also saw Digga apparently has a response track coming which I'm sure has a good chance of charting too Kolter also making it 5 artists in all making the top 40 for the first time this week!- bjsc 189 ⬛ 🟪 🟦 odds and predictions
I mean I'm only saying it'd maybe be slightly less shocking if you DNQed than Rob. I'm sure you'll most likely both be fine as usual. x- Friday Chart Predictions
And it was manipulation when they did it too. Really not sure what your point is.- bjsc 189 ⬛ 🟪 🟦 odds and predictions
It's very rare I ever hear a Hendinia entry that doesn't sound like a safe qualifier (applies to Cor Lupus and Aeroche too) - that's not "because it's Hendinia", it's just a testament to Rob having a good ear for avoiding the DNQs x (I wouldn't be super shocked if Hendinia DNQ this month, but would still say it's more likely than not the streak will march on. If anything Aeroche might be in more peril x) Never forget that one of the closest times Hendinia came to DNQing in this streak was with Cobrah who then came top 10 in the final. So nothing is ever guaranteed.- Friday Chart Predictions
The manipulation is them getting to pick and choose what week sales count to by changing shipping dates on a whim. And they have done that repeatedly.- bjsc 189 ⬛ 🟪 🟦 odds and predictions

I am in contrarian mode and felt quite a lot of this semi was being overhyped (oops) but your song definitely isn't. <3 (it was a good semi, probably better than the average, but not to the extent people were making it out to be at least on first impressions x)- bjsc 189 ⬛ 🟪 🟦 semi-finals

At least there was 'Aperture' to give us one week of something slightly more "experimental" at #1 this year (although I don't greatly care for it myself).- Friday Chart Predictions
It's just Blossoms btw. They've never had a 'The' in their name.- The Pop Factor: Season 3 • Boot Camp: Part Two in Bratislava (Solo Female)
