  1. Damien's mentor seeing the near death experience and making sure it won't happen again I see x Lol at the double Sam Smith following the double Calvin before! Also I was wondering if we'd get any of Gary Numan's more recent material - not familiar with that era but I did love 2021's 'Intruder' so he has still got it, looking forward to a discovery from him this time after already knowing the first 3. (Also another good Sam Fender pick - I'd love to see 'Play God' get an outing but not sure how likely that is, this is maybe his 2nd best song for me).
  2. Not 24 Howers! Much better pick from MARINA for me this week after not being keen on her last two.
  3. Brélican posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Olivia Dean possibly coming to chart another song from her album with 'I've Seen It' (but maybe at risk of being her first song to chart but not make the top 40, though it's not far off at #49 in the update).
  4. People who use dark mode deserve to suffer I fear.
  5. I most likely won't be able to attend today (at least not for the whole thing) as usual for a Tuesday but fair enough - can definitely do semi 2 tomorrow.
  6. If I've been lucky enough to survive after the interruption of my plans for round 3, I've now submitted what would have been my round 3 pick for round 4 instead. But maybe I went out in round 1. We just don't know!
  7. This is a really intriguing collaboration, fascinated to hear what it sounds like. Both of their respective previous BJSC entries got medals from me so no pressure! (Would definitely recommend you check out Mareux's 'The Perfect Girl' if you've not heard it already)
  8. Oh...! I was 8th with 66 points after my own votes were revealed, didn't get a single further point in the five votes after that but somehow only dropped 1 place. Hooray for hanging on for a top 10 after all then! Only my second to date in Bop Idol and it's matched the position of my first with Tokio Myers. (My biggest Bop Idol hit being an Ed Sheeran cover is a bit aged like milk so at least it's only joint biggest now hehe) Only 3 of my votes finished in the top half oops so not the most I've been with the zeitgeist despite the good result for my own entry - Placebo were the only one of the top 7 I voted for (the best of the rest was All Saints who weren't too far off being a commiseration for me). At least my 12 from Kaku P-MODEL was up in the top 10 too and a good showing for another of my medals in Legowelt. A disappointing result for Peter Gabriel though who stood out a lot to me, also much too low there for Sweet Trip and Neneh Cherry </3 but a decent enough amount of justice achieved for Cusco. Thanks Rollo for the hosting, didn't get to engage with this contest as much as I hoped with me missing the listenthrough and only getting around to even listening at the last minute but still some great discoveries here.
  9. Lol oops I definitely peaked early! Well... maybe I can still make it 5 top 13 hits in a row across the various contests
  10. uhsting bringing the banger <3 (I return to the alt bloc as you requested and this is how you repay me though? xo)
  11. Kinda turns out the whole of the voting sequence was actually just quite pop leaning it seems ddd. 'You Lost Me' is an ok song, not particularly exciting to me but I've never really been a fan of Xtina outside of a couple of bops, she definitely has worse. Congrats @Scene on another song contest trophy x
  12. Really cool tune there from Neneh.
  13. 'For What It's Worth' charted (just barely) around the time I joined BuzzJack so I remember it quite well from those early chart stanning days - good to hear it again here.
  14. Ooh there I am x I perhaps peaked a bit early with my first 3 sets of points all being 12s thanks to @Chez Wombat, @Jade and @jimwatts for those as well as @Julian_ for giving me my first medal since then just now and @CowTzy, @Dobbo, @King Rollo, @nine¾, @matto and @Addy! for the other points so far! Hoping I can squeeze out another top 10 here which would make it 4 out of the last 5 assorted song contests for me! (this reminds me I never commented on the Nuggets results, I should go belatedly do that soon x). That top end of the scoreboard is not greatly to my taste unless the last few voters swing things majorly but yay for my votes pushing Kaku P-MODEL right up there - annoying that my favourite song of the contest (from first impressions anyway) is the only one that's not on Spotify, I tracked it down and downloaded it from Bandcamp to add as a local file for my shuffle playlist x
  15. A pretty good song from Kate 'Calgon' Bush - much better than the one from the last retro contest.
  16. But enough about 'Aeropickles'.
  17. UNKLE / DJ Shadow (not that he was involved with this song) tend to be reliable for a good contest entry, this was another banger from them.
  18. 😮 you should have taken my entirely ethical advice
  19. Does @Spiceboy know any other artists (I liked this song more than the one you sent to the other contest, that may or may not be surprising x)
  20. Legowelt also in the 'didn't know they'd been around so long' camp. Banger though, Till serving taste with the electronic entries once more x
  21. I was a bit confused at you saying it was a shoegaze song before I looked it up lol (the American Wednesday are great though, no slander xx)
  22. I thought Beth Orton might have been Herbs (but being Rich makes just as much sense).
  23. Sorry I'm a bit late to the party but quickly caught up and should be around for the rest of this, I see my song isn't unveiled yet (and won't be for a while if it's all order of receipt). Christina is not a surprising early leader but does feel like quite a pop heavy contingent of voters so far (which makes me think Modest Mouse could be well placed here). There are a few reveals so far that I had guessed correctly - although there's probably no prizes on offer for insightful predictions like Rollo sending Peter Gabriel or Chez sending the conspicuous former Terra Avium artist. I did think Charlotte Martin felt very Mattias-coded though which is maybe slightly less obvious! All three of those were good discoveries anyway (Cusco deserved a lot better with their BJSC entry x), also really enjoyed Dobbo and Jade's entries. There were a few dance/electronic acts in this who I knew mainly from BJSC and was surprised to discover they'd been around so long, Booka Shade definitely one of those!
  24. Oh I wasn't really paying much attention to the voting in the solo men this round, gah at that actually being the really close bottom 2 and the groups being comfortable by comparison (but no shock of course at Dido being well behind the rest in the women, poor hen). Ultravox had no business being so close to the bottom either...! And although she was obviously in no risk of being out it's a shame to see Sophie in the bottom 3 there, thought this was a really good pick from her. Happy to see Darin doing so well with an inspired pick though!
  25. I've actually sent Frankie Rose to another contest myself before (with 'Sixteen Ways' - just checked and it wasn't a contest that you entered (was in the Pop forum, not BJSC)). The universe wants this to be a strong #lookysephonia month xx
