  1. Adam And The Ants - Prince Charming Siouxsie And The Banshees - Arabian Knights Soft Cell - Tainted Love U2 - Fire Ultravox - The Thin Wall 3 I already knew and 2 discoveries (Siouxsie and U2) this week. Although the Ultravox song was also one I only discovered relatively recently. Next fave discoveries were Kim Wilde's 'Water On Glass' and Debbie Harry, next faves I already knew are Duran Duran and The Human League.
  2. Aw you didn't x (but I did kinda want to nominate 'Image' too so glad you did that one) As I had typed out initially then: 2024 The Cure - Alone Everything Everything - The End Of The Contender Tyler, The Creator - Noid I thought I may be able to swap out EE for Kendrick's 'squabble up' but we do have 2 Kendrick songs nominated for the year already so it's fine x
  3. Waiting to see if @seven. will beat me to nominating a certain song for 2024 so I can pick something else instead 👀

  5. Well... Mariah starting out further ahead of Wham! than she did last year, and that's about as much of a fill of anything interesting happening in the chart as we're going to get for the next 2 months. x I was anticipating it but still aw that the boost for 'Berghain' was just for a day and it's back to lower than it was before now. I guess there's still quite a lot of Halloween stuff ahead that'll probably all be gone tomorrow so hopefully it can still stick to the top 200 then or failing that be back in on Tuesday when newer songs tend to recover.
  6. Ahh I completely missed when researching that this is the same person as Fla.mingo (the weird artist name makes slightly more sense now). I did love 'Die', looks like this song will be quite different sounding but still looks promising!
  7. I will get something in tonight so will be a record number of entrants I guess, hooray x
  8. Michael Bubré posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Mariah and Wham! didn't start charting until the 2nd week of November last year.
  9. The stream numbers are posted for the entire top 200 every day: https://charts.spotify.com/charts/view/regional-gb-daily/latest It dropped by ~700 streams from yesterday.
  10. ROSALÍA has a much bigger following on BuzzJack than pretty much any other Hispanophone artist to be fair, I do love 'PIENSO EN TU MIRÁ' obvz (so anyone who hasn't heard it you still should do, maybe should play it at the SyncTube anyway xo) but I think would be a fair veto regardless of how well 'Berghain' does.
  11. I had to give it a few listens to let it sink in more as it felt quite overwhelming on first listen but what an epic start to this era *.* (I do wish Yves Tumor had a slightly bigger part in it but ROSALÍA and Björk both sound excellent on it x)
  12. What song did you try? x (James Blake and ROSALÍA getting new UK top 40 hits in back to back weeks would truly be the blessed timeline - still not holding my breath for 'Berghain' charting that highly though, I'll be more than happy with top 100 x)
  13. 'Goo Goo Muck' is charting as well! (at #115, but still x) edit: just realised the post you were replying to was about this lol, ignore me
  14. I would assume it has a lot higher of a baseline streaming level outside of Halloween than all of the other Halloween songs as well so not like it'll be trailing away to negligible numbers even after the weekend!
  15. You would think if 'Thriller' was granted a reset there's no reason they wouldn't do the same for the rest of the Halloween songs, or at least the ones that would be making the top 50 or so since that seems to be around the cutoff that prompts the OCC to notice a reset is due. I wonder if they have just quietly completely dropped the rule about not charting within the last 3 years as it now looks like they're consistently ignoring it. Would love to see 'Spooky, Scary Skeletons' making the top 40, iconic to see it cracking the top 10 on Spotify for the first time today though either way, plus 'Psycho Killer' making the top 40 for the first time *.* and a nice new peak for 'Dracula' there too, curious to see if it'll come back to the chart for Halloween next year. Also excellent to see a big NMF boost for ROSALÍA even amongst the Halloween songs, really exciting to see this song actually sticking around so far but I will continue to be skeptical that it'll last much longer. I was burnt once before with the hope that she'd get a top 40 hit as lead artist when 'TKN' painfully stalled at #41 x It's fallen 1 place to #13 on global Spotify today but that is with 6 Halloween songs jumping ahead of it!
  16. I have received word that another person was also wanting to send the same artist... please check the songs of thread people xx (especially if you're trying to send an artist with the initials CC though I fear me calling attention to this just means we'll have another 6 people try to confirm said artist in 182 lol) On a related note, Sarah Kinsley won PJSC
  17. I was just coming here to ask this
  18. ROSALÍA longevity kween (it has managed a second day in the global top 10 as well x)
  19. Olivia Dean?
  20. 'Not Fair' being ahead of 'The Fear' is a choice x Kind of iconic that 'Fuck You' is so high without ever charting though.
  21. Well I've heard the Sarah Kinsley song now and probably to the surprise of no one I thought it was mid x (I don't really hear much MUNA-esque in it, Robyn is a better comparison)
  22. The consistent gains throughout the week for the Lily album have been very impressive - I'm not sure I can think of another album that started with a similar trajectory? It's behaving more like a film soundtrack than a studio album (Encanto and KPop Demon Hunters both made fairly little impact when they first dropped but then grew quickly over the span of a few weeks). Just from looking at the positions I was going to say I hope 'Madeline' might be on course to overtake 'Pussy Palace' but I see there is still a big gap between their stream numbers so I guess that's not happening, I will instead root for 'Ruminating' to overtake both 'West End Girl' and 'Tennis' to become her third song x (I suppose Bad Bunny's last album had a similar ish trajectory except on a much lower level with only a small handful of its songs charting, and it ended up running out of momentum fairly quickly) Sorry I'm late but here to stan ROSALÍA now!! xx I'm definitely assuming for now this is going to just be a one day phenomenon as it doesn't sound remotely like a chart hit but I'd love if Jonjo's anecdotal evidence pans out here. The fact that a song like this has made the top 10 on global Spotify even for a day (and bringing Björk and Yves Tumor along for the ride) is crazy. Hopefully if nothing else it bodes well for her album managing a solid chart placement in a couple of weeks after 'MOTOMAMI' fell just short of the top 40 (I hadn't expected that to chart at all at the time either, mind). This is arguably her first appearance in UK Spotify where she is the main attraction of the song (it's her third song as lead artist to chart after 'TKN' and 'LA FAMA' which were heavily assisted by the Travis Scott and The Weeknd features respectively, and her other previous appearances were features/collabs with James Blake (as part of an album bomb), Travis Scott again, Billie Eilish and LISA) - I say arguably as I guess Björk would still be a bigger name in the UK overall than her but she's probably not driving many streams on her name power in 2025.
  23. MUNA would 100% be vetoed regardless x
  24. All this demand for MUNA-esque songs but when I sent an actual member of MUNA to the Pop Forum Song Contest she didn't even finish in the top half. Pfft xx
  25. Turns out that's literally the opposite of when I did this theme for the other retro contest then
