The Saturdays: X Factor Needs More Girlbands
It has everything to do with both X Factor and the public because X Factor is the competition and the public literally fund it. And if you read what I said, I said that girlbands arent getting enough support and people (the public and the judges) aren't open-minded enough to give them a fair chance. It's the same with all girlbands. They are seen as guilty pleasure or in other words acts who people hate to love or love to hate but the success of the group points in the 'hate to love' direction else they would already have fallen under the Clea/Dolly Rockers etc category

Ego // 2nd Single
Somewhat static on both the midweeks and iTunes today. #12 on Irish iTunes, #21 UK iTunes and #36 in the midweeks.

The Saturdays- Ego
I was thinking the same though, Issues was a 3rd single after all. So whatever the 3rd single is needs to be of high standard as Ego, but Ego should at least help them back into the top 75 and keep them around in it for a while and as singles 3 and 4 come, the album should sneak back into the top 40 much like Cry Me Out is doing for Pixie Lott's album now.

The Saturdays: X Factor Needs More Girlbands
No they are not saying that can you read. Mollie flopped with her girlband in 2007 when they auditioned and look how huge she is with The Sats today so she does have enough reason to say that XF needs more girlband influence, support, giving them a chance etc and that XF should be more open minded to a different type of winner or finalist. And your in the minority for thinking they're $h!t btw, else they wouldn't have become one of the main girlbands in the UK atm unless you closed-mindedly think girl bands are just $h!t in general which I'm sensing you do

The Saturdays- Ego
Doubt what? That it won't kick start album sales?

They probably do. Ego is perfection beyond belief although I still prefer FIO. And btw you dont have to colour tag each of your posts, just go to 'edit profile information' and set your post colour there.

I know there's a thread. But nobody ever updates it, no offense to you but I started this thread so I could keep the description up-to-date. Nobody's going to look at a thread that has an out of date description.

If only some other people were capable of acknowledging this. Anyway, hope they get back into the top 20 soon and top 10 on Irish iTunes, come on Sats! :D

iTunes Chart: December II
No you neither said their first or second campaign was a flop. You used the adjective 'floppy saturdays' which correlates with Sammy's description 'the flops that the saturdays are' as saying The Saturdays themselves are flops. So defending yourself by lying isn't going to help because the manner in which you and Sammy post in reference to The Sats does bring across the image that you want them to die. And yes the sales of Wordshaker have vastly underperformed SO FAR, but that alone is not enough reason to call them: 'floppy saturdays' or 'the flops that the saturdays are' - if those descriptions don't come across as extreme fanboy-i-only-love-one-girl-group-and-hate-the-rest-ism, I really don't know. And can you please get over referring to FIO not being in the YE top 100 it's really pathetic, a #2 single and sales of 120k+ is decent no matter which way you look at it. What girlgroups are in the T100 for this year anyway, so please can we just move on. I don't have the energy for catfighting with people like you. Because there is just no way of getting through to someone whose as extreme GAfanboyloon as you are. :(

iTunes Chart: December II
They're not flops! You and Bert For Lashes keep calling them flops because that's what you two want everyone else to believe because of your bizzare inability to like more than one girl group. And quite frankly it's pathetic and extremely childish because we all know that a group that debuts with a Platinum-selling album and 5 top 10 singles is NOT a flop, whether you like it or not. The Sats aren't going to turn into flops if you calling them flops. It's better that you get used to the fact that there is another girlgroup that's gaining success other than your beloved Girls Aloud or Sugababes. And your idea that Ego will be their last single just proves how deluded you are in your fanboyloonism with the Sugababes, how on earth will a single that's turning out to be one of an artist's biggest hits result in the ending of their career? Get real, YOU want it to be the end of their career and just because you want it to be, doesn't mean it will be. And at the rate the single is performing, it will be FAR from what you want it to be so it really is best that you stop unnecessarily arguing with people in here, grow up, and accept the fact that a girlgroup other than the Sugababes are having success.

Come on Sats keep climbing :D , really want Ego to be top 30 on Sunday. The Xmas songs should push About A Girl out the top 40 in no time too, thank god such a vile song came and went so quickly

Ego // 2nd Single
Back up to #11 on Irish iTunes, if they can just squeeze into the top 10 there I'd think it'd be safe to say this could very well be their biggest hit in Ireland and their 3rd top 10 single as well. Come on girls! :cheer:

Chipmunk Wanted The Sats On "Oopsy Daisy"
I think it would have turned out quite superb based on how well they performed it together last week at the Jingle Bell Ball. _fFXR2OC6K0

Ego // 2nd Single
^ Hopefuly! It's doing so well beyond my expectations that I can't not imagine it being a big hit and the era saver! :D Down to #17 on Irish iTunes though but still great that it's so high there so early.

iTunes Chart: December II
Bert For Lashes, FIO was not a flop, this is what a flop is: But I'm not suprised, if the incredible Feedback and Discipline weren't hits then the average Make Me or Greatest Hits were going to head for a flop. @ Santa Ben: If you read my post at the top of this page you will see how try to redirect the argument to stay on topic. And I'm doing the same in this post. If some posters weren't so rude and attacking this debate would be relevant, on-topic and toned down. My references toward GA were facts, you can find them almost anywhere on the internet. It is a fact that See The Day, Whole Lotta History and St Trinians hardly or didnt scrape a minimum of 6 weeks in the top 100. And it is a fact that not more than half the singles GA have released have sold over 120k.
-
iTunes Chart: December II
Uh sure, a Platinum selling debut album, 5 top 10 singles - 3 of which sold over 200k definitely fits the adjective of "floppy".
-
iTunes Chart: December II
 OK, to make a comparison barely even half of the singles that the Sugababes or GA have released have surpassed 120k in sales so then according to your definition of poor sales that would mean both groups have sold poorly most of the time, which we both know isn't the case. It is quite obvious you just want to take a dig at The Sats and not ignore the facts I'm stating regarding GA whereas what you say about The Sats is completely bias! And btw, it is still too early for FIO to make an impact on the YTD since it was released in October, had it been earlier in the year it would be at a much better position now. The sophomore album's lead single should have never been released in 2009 anyway and that put FIO at a huge disadvantage so under the circumstances it did extremely well. A peak of #2 is a hit, you can't deny it and sales of over 120k+ is exceptional regardless of what format era a single's been released in.

iTunes Chart: December II
You misinterpreted. I used Sugafakes in reference to my first post and Soul Sound in reference to my second post. They didn't coinside with each other whatsoever. Anyway, I think everyone gets the point I'm trying to make! :D If Ego keeps rising on iTunes at this pace it should have no trouble in charting within the top 40 by the end of week! =]

iTunes Chart: December II
On ratio The Sats singles chart runs $h!t all over more than 50% of the Sugababes chart runs. And the record company obviously does care about Wordshaker's drop if they released such a flawless single like Ego with an equally flawless music video to accompany it and in addition they've already organised quite useful promo for the single so they obviously are banking on Ego to save the era and I wouldn't blame them because things were looking the same with Chasing Lights until Up and Issues saved the era, it's just a trend with Sats albums which is why it's better to only judge the album's performance after the 2nd or 3rd single.
-
iTunes Chart: December II
What's with the sarcasm? That chart run is fine and much better than AAG's 8-13-23-34. Forever Is Over was a huge hit, if it wasn't for Chipmunk it would've been no.1 and it's sold 125k so far! :cheer: 6 weeks in the top 40 is decent. Some GA singles like See The Day, Whole Lotta History or St Trinians barely even get 6 weeks in the top 100. Likewise with the Sugafakes ala Soul Sound, Follow Me Home, Easy etc etc. FIO is already on it's ninth week in the top 100 which is good, it may not be having the immense chart runs Up or Issues had but it held up extremely well under the circumstances that the Chasing Lights era only came to an end some two months before the Wordshaker era begun. Who cares, the album run is going to be so much better after Ego and the 3rd single start having an affect. The release was rushed and only die-hard fans knew about the album, it was so rushed that people still aren't ready to move away from Chasing Lights and onto Wordshaker as the sales and chart positions reflect. So obviously with more time and more single Wordshaker is going sell and rebound. And a top 10 album is outstanding irrespective of the chart run or whatever.

The Saturdays: X Factor Needs More Girlbands
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/03/29/article-1165635-02E8E3A5000005DC-566_468x453.jpg The Saturdays have claimed that The X Factor needs to produce more girlbands. Singer Mollie King, who auditionde with previous group Fallen Angelz in 2007, admitted that she was disappointed that solo performers and boybands are more successful on the ITV1 show. "There really needs to be more girlbands coming out of The X Factor because they always seem to go out at the beginning. I really don't get it," she told the Daily Star. Girlband Kandy Rain were the first act voted off the live shows this year. Miss Frank followed two weeks later. The Saturdays release new single 'Ego' on January 4. Source: Digital Spy
