It obviously won't. They are completely different genres.

Oh, that was exactly my reaction to the lyrics lol. It's only a couple but I will say that the sexual songs are... a lot. Anyway, Lonely Hearts is out. I love the writing. auY354Ec-kg

JoJo has always been an out and out R&B singer who was pushed into pop because she's a pretty white girl. She doesn't listen to much pop and didn't even like Leave (Get Out) in 2004 lol. That's inauthenticity, it just happened to produce some classic pop tracks. This album is just a continuation of her Agape mixtape, the first thing she ever did without any input from A&Rs. I'm sure it is jarring for people who prefer her pop stuff, but this is who she is. Also (spoiler), only a couple of songs are sexual really.
  4. Didn't expect JoJo to even make top 70. I'd love a surprise playlisting.

The only similar thing is the chorus melody really, but they are similar. I think the beat drops in the second verse here and it ends with a lot of big notes.
  6. That's one way to describe bad harmonies.
  7. pretty much. The funny thing is that vocally, what actually matters, it's the opposite. Keisha and Mutya have such strong, distinct voices that have always blended so well together. Siobhan's soft, light tone fits in really nicely.
  8. Yes. Even less than a buzz single, it's more of just a teaser. I'm guessing it will be the intro on her album like back2thebeginningagain and Music. I think it's great. Her voice sounds gorgeous and it's very rare to hear an original concept in "pop" these days. Her singing from the perspective of overly critical armchair "fans" is really cool and striking. I was hanging onto every line. Despite how simple it is, the video concept and execution are excellent and maybe her best. Mad Love was great but it lacked the thoughtfulness and specificity that she showed here and on her mixtapes.

lol, you weren't lying about the shoutiness. I love her but sadly her voice has regressed a bit and her high belts are all really strained like on this song. That was very evident in all the We God Love performances. She wouldn't sound like this a few years ago
  10. Halsey carries every chorus on the studio version. I guess they wanted to show both versions since they will be performing the Korean version in the video.
  11. Nah. This is the start of a new album series and so there will almost certainly be 3 albums over the next year. I think the eldest member Jin will enlist in either 2020 or 2021. He's the least essential member so they could even release for another year without him. After that, I guess the rest will do some solo stuff.
  12. I think RV sound so much better than her...
  13. Surprised by the positivity here considering the negativity I've seen elsewhere. I can't believe people are still doing no choruses in 2019.
  14. They surely would have had to clear it since it's a new recording. I guess the question is how much/if they had to pay, or if they were able to explain: "Hey, we actually cleared this sample 12 years ago but now I have to cover myself so that the song will be online again and you can get your royalties". Whew. According to Nicki The High Road one of the greatest R&B albums of all time. ;)
  15. She got out of the contract, and she's now on her own imprint at Warner, but the label owns the masters to her first two albums. Blackground Records have taken almost all of their former artists' music off streaming and itunes, including most of Aaliyah's catalogue and Toni Braxton's Libra. They essentially no longer exist now, and the owner Barry Hankerson (Aaliyah's uncle) is pure evil, so it's unlikely that her old albums will be for sale anytime soon.
  16. Yes. She recorded the entire first two albums. This version of Leave is a bit more stripped down: ALvYb4QARzs It's not possible. She can only do this because she's essentially recording covers of previously released songs. Demonstrate wasn't released for sale, but it was premiered by blackground on soundcloud, which has since become a chart streaming site. Loopholes!
  17. As some will know, JoJo's first two albums (and Leave (Get Out) in many territories) have not been available to purchase or stream for years thanks to her evil ex-label that kept her locked up for years. Well, JoJo just pulled off the boss move of 2018, re-recording (technically covering) and releasing her entire back catalogue to streaming sites so that she can own the masters, and doing so on her birthday to mark her 'Clover Music' imprint at Warner. We love this legendary climax: PlNmWQuqrq4
  18. I find it hard to care. At her age and after already selling hundreds of millions, her main aim should be making great records, which she has done.
  19. Two k-pop songs in the top 20. One's a solo track and the other is a random album track that some fans decided to buy again. Wild...
  20. Jesus. You do realise that 6/7 literally don't speak any English? It's pretty obvious that they were trying to be expressive and humorous in lieu of actually being able to communicate. The alternative is sitting in silence while one member says everything. pN82EZiUkr4 Performing is kinda their thing. I thought it was good but having 2 injured members is generally not ideal.
  21. It's not a US-specific thing. K-pop acts always do repacks (like those good old deluxe editions) of their albums with just a couple of new tracks, just to squeeze every penny out of their fans. BTS are better about it though as they add enough new tracks for it to be worthwhile and this is the final leg of their long, weird album series and 'bangtan universe'.

They added an extra London date for anyone who would like to see the vocalist of our generation twice for a total of 34 quid... Pretty damn good for someone who has been dead for 10 years.

It's Amazing. I Can Only, Edibles, Like This, Honest, Clovers, Reckless, High Heels >>> Plus the changes to Good Thing are AMAZING and need to be the next UK single.

"Music." is out in Australia. The line quoted above...my God. You can hear her fighting back the tears. She already said she was crying while she sang this song and decided to go with this raw version rather than polishing it, but I still wasn't ready for the emotions. Incredible. The song is storytelling at its best.
