  2. lmfao, and NSync had 2 diamond albums in the states and sold far more in one era than in Justin's entire solo career. What a weird thing to say. What Justin and Beyonce have in common is that they were the lead singers and were the breakout solo stars of their group, but it's looking like all of them may surpass the group.
  3. Yeah. Fazer has his own solo single coming out in June. He is said to be working with some pretty high-profile names and doing a Timbaland-type record (since he's obviously a producer more than anything else), so that could easily happen assuming someone relevant is on the single.
  4. C'mon Tulisa and Cover.

Great to see Alexandra doing this well despite being so unsupported. I wonder if she has more promo.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/singlesr....html#yourviews Disastuh is apparently being released on Sunday over here. Get your copies people, because she'll need all the help she can get. :(
  7. According to Digitalspy, JoJo - Disaster is out next week. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/singlesr....html#yourviews

No, she's on both labels. They're both handling her - she's said countless times on twitter that she's still on blackground and I remember an interview where she spoke about there being a lot of differing and contrasting opinions in meetings. And I'm not disappointed about the mere fact that it hasn't smashed, but rather that it hasn't been handled well at all. It's just bizarre that the single was released all the way in september and they waited over a month to premier the video & give it an adds date, and by that time it wasn't in the top 1000 or whatever. It would have been fair enough if they had done everything right and the single just wasn't strong enough/she needed big promo. But it feels like it had a lot of potential but was a complete waste. But IDK, they seem to be just watching to see how the single fares before they put any money behind it. I imagine they will bring out something new/different in 2012 and we'll see what happens.

It's all her label's fault. The song was comfortably top 40 with sales and it's now 42 on radio. Had they released the single, sent it to radio and premiered the video in the correct order/timeframe in addition to actually promoting it, it would have likely been at least a decent hit (there are so many people I've spoken to who love the song but didn't have any idea she was even releasing new music until I showed them). I do wonder if Blackground are purposely sabotaging her now because she took them to court. The label is just shady - I still remember what they did to Timbaland when he tried to sue them.

Her earlier performances of disaster were done while she was sick and didn't have any time to properly rest her voice. But her recent performances have been fine, so...
  11. Anyone know how Jojo is doing? I think Disaster was finally added to radio this week.
  12. Jojo is all the way upto 43 on itunes off zero promotion or anything. :/ Radio really needs to start playing her. It's taking way too long.
  13. Anyone know how jojo is doing? Is she flopping?

Anyone know how it's doing on radio? I don't want her to be a flop. Sob.
  15. It is so , so, so, so good. Completely eerie and haunting. A great song. Nothing like anything she has done and not like anything in the charts. BRAVO!
  16. But the internet is THE premier platform for music nowadays... And the album was never sealed off. She has been actively recording since 2007 to this present day, so it won't be outdated or anything. She said that they're in the finishing stages so my guess is that the main album will be out spring/early summer 2011.
  17. The album will come out. The whole point of this mixtape/viral video is to create some buzz around her and to get people to connect with her again. If she just came out with an album right now, it would probably flop unless the lead single was really special. The good thing is that she does still have some fans.
  18. I'm not a fan of Olly Murs at all, but some of the bitching in here is hilarious. Of course he deserves to be number one if it gets there. As some have already said, he isn't some comedy act like Jedward or Chico. He's a decent singer and even though the dancing is often silly, he is a very good entertainer with stage presence. Of course he has tried to get into the industry himself, but it's such a hard thing to do. So many of the most famous acts today were shunned from the industry in the beginning. I mean GaGa was a behind-the-scenes writer at first. For all it's flaws, the X-Factor gives people a platform. Though it has churned out some ridiculous winners and made some really untalented people famous, it has also produced the likes of Alexandra and Leona, which I think validates it. I'm just glad he didn't have to lift his shirt 34932034280 times to get to number one, unlike a certain talentless X-Factor boyband.
  19. It's just for publicity so she can get her name around. Full story here: http://www.rap-up.com/2010/08/23/jojo-expe...nds-on-mixtape/ JoJo has stepped out of the spotlight for quite some time, having released her sophomore album The High Road four years ago. Now, the 19-year-old Boston singer is gearing up for the release of her third effort, All I Want Is Everything, to be released at the top of 2011, by putting out a new mixtape titled Can’t Take That Away From Me. The songstress with a soulful voice compiled the new tape using songs she’s crafted over the course of a year. Listeners can expect to hear a broad range of topics and sounds on the project. From mainstream pop records to tunes tinged with hip-hop flavor, JoJo dabbled in many genres, including her favorite, which are the soulful records that compliment her voice best. “This mixtape is more experimental,” JoJo tells Rap-Up.com. “I was able to explore the full spectrum of things that interest me and inspire me musically. Whereas the album, I wanted to make pop records and radio hits and things that satisfy me, but particularly for [All I Want Is Everything], it’s more of a continuous body of work. The mixtape, I was able to do some things that were more soulful, incorporate live instruments, and say things that I wouldn’t normally say on an album. I was just able to take more of a risk. It is all over the place, just like me.” While her albums tend to have a cohesive sound and a common thread, the mixtape jumps around in a manner she’s content with. As for the title, JoJo explains that its meaning comes from a very personal place. “It was kind of symbolic of some things I have been going through professionally as well as personally,” she reveals. “Starting with the fact that I want to release music and you can’t really take what comes naturally to me, away from me.” Producer Chad Hugo of The Neptunes, and experimental artist Kenna, joined forces to create several tracks for Can’t Take That Away From Me. They’re the creators behind “Pretty Please,” “Kiss and Tell,” and “Shades.” Grammy Award-winning beatmaker Neff-U produced the mixtape’s title track as well as a song titled “Runnin’ on Empty.” Then there’s J. Gatsby, the musical director behind JoJo’s band and the producer of “In the Dark,” a record that finds the songstress moving away from that happy-go-lucky sound. “I think ‘In the Dark’ is different than anything people have heard from me before,” says JoJo. “It’s a very sensual record and there’s an undertone of sadness to it.” All in all, Can’t Take That Away From Me is JoJo’s re-entry to the music industry. Fans have sat idle waiting for her to drop new material and the time has finally arrived. “I’m interested to see what people think because I am experimenting with sounds,” she admits. “My fans’ opinions really matter to me so I’m going to be looking to see what they gravitate towards. And of course, I’m a little nervous because I haven’t released material in a while. [but] I’m confident that people will dig what I release.” Can’t Take That Away From Me will premiere exclusively on Rap-Up.com on September 7. “In the Dark,” the first single from the mixtape, will also debut here later this month. So exciting

BTW guys, she already said that Forever In My Life was 100% written for another artist and won't be appearing on her album. I do indeed like that song and I love some of the others but I know that her album will have SO MANY better songs than that. So don't worry!
  21. Go away, little girl. :)
  22. Lol I think it's starts off OK with the first three, then just COMPLETELY SUCKS after. Shame Alexandra wasn't in the country when it was recorded but she got quite a few adlibs at the end at least.
  23. LOL. God I really dislike this kid he honestly looks about he's 8, not 15. What a shame that RnB has come to this.

That Biever kid needs to go away, quick. Great for Alex though. Hope the promo is enough in the next few weeks to get her to no.1, then europe & the US. :D
