I voted Lily Allen, Shakira was a very close 2nd for me.

It was released early this year in the UK, as was her first single Just Dance. Meaning she had nothing released in the UK pre-2009.

But also last week BR and MMH were pretty close on iTunes all week long and both sold 46k, whereas now BR is doule MMH.
