Eyes' Top 50 - 19/01/2012
Hello Eyes! I am sorry I didn’t review your chart until now, I know I said I’d do it by yesterday :( The first day I just couldn’t find the time, and the other day I totally forgot. :( Well.. nevertheless.. here is my review now! The songs in bold are songs I’ve discovered exclusively through your chart, and your chart only :D 1. [4] Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye ft. Kimbra (29 - 31 - 45 - 50 - x - 27 - 16 - 4 - 1) [8wks] 2. [18] Twilight - Cover Drive (18 - 2) [2wks] - Oooh, I really like this! Such a perfect, comfortable summer jam  Will definitely give this some more listens and maybe even chart it! 3. [1] Honey And The Bee - Owl City (26 - 44 - x - 21 - 4 - 1 - 3) [6wks] - This is actually in the top ten in my EOY chart :o Great to see someone still charting it! 4. [6] Turn Loose The Mermaids - Nightwish (6 - 4) [2wks] - Quite storytellingly beautiful and pleasant! Could grow on me, I think.. 5. [8] Titanium - David Guetta ft. Sia (1 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 3 - 3 - 4 - 6 - 6 - 5 - 9 - 11 - 14 - 18 - 24 - 42 - 46 - 46 - 16 - 8 - 8 - 5) [24wks] - Longest Runner 6. [2] Put Your Hearts Up - Ariana Grande (2 - 6) [2wks] - Great pop ahoy! :D 7. [3] Storytime - Nightwish (2 - 3 - 5 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 3 - 7) [8wks] 8. [11] What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger) - Kelly Clarkson (24 - 24 - 24 - 11 - 8) [5wks] - This was very catchy, but there is something about it that I feel uncomfortable with. I don't know, but I know I should be really enjoying it. Instead I'm conflicted! I think what ruins it for me is the lyrics, especially "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"-part. I don't particularly agree with it and I think it's overused. In addition the music video is imo poorly executed with poor coreography and is based on an uninteresting and uncreative idea :nocheer: 9. [5] Born To Die - Lana Del Rey (45 - 5 - 2 - 5 - 9) [5wks] 10. [12] Wild Ones - Flo Rida ft. Sia (17 - 12 - 10) [3wks] 11. [15] Shady Love - Scissor Sisters (22 - 15 - 11) [3wks] 12. [50] Alone Again ft. Jump Smokers - Alyssa Reid (18 - 16 - 22 - 41 - 48 - x - 50 - 31 - 12) [8wks] 13. [7] Do It Our Way (Play) - Alesha Dixon (3 - 7 - 13) [3wks] - Nice song, and such an entertaining music video to boot! And everything done in one take too? Always.. always.. always impressive! :heehee: :D 14. [37] Midnight City - M83 (12 - 4 - 13 - 14 - 23 - 15 - 21 - 38 - 41 - x - 37 - 14) [11wks] 15. [20] No Light No Light - Florence + The Machine (41 - 25 - 25 - 20 - 15) [5wks] 16. [10] The One That Got Away - Katy Perry (1 - 3 - 4 - 4 - 5 - 7 - 7 - 10 - 16) [9wks] 17. [9] Fight For You - Jason Derulo (32 - 18 - 4 - 6 - 9 - 17) [6wks] - I'm probably one of the last to hear this now, but I don't generally keep me updated on Jason Derulo. Not one of his best songs according to what I like, but it was okay. 18. [17] Cannonball - Little Mix (6 - 1 - 2 - 5 - 17 - 18) [6wks] 19. [--] Flares - Prance Faris (19) [1wk] 22. [14] Naked - Dev ft. Enrique Iglesias (17 - 10 - 8 - 15 - 14 - 22) [6wks] 23. [19] Princess Of China - Coldplay ft. Rihanna (2 - 1 - 3- 7 - 9 - 18 - 15 - 14 - 14 - 19 - 23) [11wks] 24. [27] Faster - The Saturdays (1 - 2 - 1 - 6 - 3 - 11 - 27 - 24) [8wks] - ^_^ 26. [23] Warzone - The Wanted (36 - 39 - 48 - 31 - 29 - 23 - 26) [7wks] 27. [22] Levels - Avicii (13 - 31 - 42 - 38 - 29 - 32 - 22 - 27) [8wks] 28. [26] 212 - Azealia Banks (16 - 9 - 11 - 19 - 12 - 3 - 4 - 6 - 13 - 26 - 28) [11wks] 30. [--] Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen (30) [1wk] 31. [40] Mama Do The Hump - Rizzle Kicks (36 - 39 - 40 - 31) [4wks] - I've seen this on the top end of the UK charts, but never got round listening to it. They certainly have an interesting style in music, and I can definitely see the appeal and why they're so big over there. Cool name too, even though I don't understand what "Rizzle" actually means :heehee: 32. [16] Heavy Stone - Kyla La Grange (1 - 2 - 3 - 9 - 10 - 16 - 32) [7wks] 33. [24] City Boy - Donkeyboy (30 - 24 - 33) [3wks] - 35. [32] Get Ready, Get Set - The Saturdays (13 - 21 - 32 - 35) [4wks] - Ooh, this has a sort of bubblegum twist to it. Nice! 36. [--] Stand Behind The Music - Anjulie (36) [1wk] - :D 38. [33] Happiness - Alexis Jordan (1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 6 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 7 - 5 - 11 - 12 - 26 - 29 - 46 - x - 35 - x - 33 - 38) [20wks] 39. [28] Hold On - Skepta (28 - 39) [2wks] 40. [42] You And I - IU (37 - 42 - 40) [3wks] - Cute girl, cute song and cute music video! I especially loved when she turned her head just like the goose  42. [--] Crush On You - Nikki Jamal (42) [1wk] - Elegant! 44. [34] Speak Out Now - Oh Land (42 - 34 - 44) [3wks] 45. [41] We Found Love - Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris (1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 4 - 5 - 8 - 13 - 13 - 11 - 22 - 19 - 22 - 34 - 38 - 41 - 45) [17wks] 46. [--] Bordet - Gabrielle (46) [1wk] 47. [50] Do You Feel What I Feel - JLS (50 - 47) [2wks] 49. [46] 1000 Ships - Rachel Platten (6 - 13 - 9 - 17 - 27 - 46 - 49) [7wks] - It seems to drop out soon, but I'm glad to see it chart for so long for you! ^_^ 50. [30] Paradise - Coldplay (6 - 5 - 5 - 3 - 7 - 7 - 7 - 11 - 13 - 21 - 28 - 26 - 34 - 23 - 19 - 26 - 26 - 30 - 50) [18wks] - What? I can't remember hearing this song! I haven't listened to it yet? Strange.. well.. I really like it! They're one of the biggest bands around for a good reason! :o Great chart! :D I absolutely found some chart worthy discoveries here!

Melodi Grand Prix 2012
I don't like "Somewhere beautiful", really :( If it wasn't for her voice, I could even classify it as mediocre.

THE BJSC AWARDS 2011
Done! Was rather hard in some categories, but I managed to nominate three countries/songs everywhere! Unsure about what was classified as 'indie' and 'dance', though, but I think I figured it out :P Or at least hope so :o

THE BJSC AWARDS 2011
Okay, okay! I said I would nominate before the end of the day, so I will start doing it in a couple of minutes!

Unknown Pleasures VIII : Songs & Vote
Wohooo, I love links! :D I do hope there is enough time for me to listen to all of these songs PROPERLY even with hosting BJSC. I guess I should start my listening tomorrow, then. Just to be on the safe side.

Melodi Grand Prix 2012
I think overall MGP has great musical diversity, which I think is a very good, interesting and healthy thing! I agree with you on that last bit, but aren't you pleased, looking at tonight's results? :D

Melodi Grand Prix 2012
Hmm.. I can't believen I'm not active in this thread. I am one of few norwegians on Buzzjack and I'm after all very interested and engaged in MGP. I should start saying things in here :D And I can start by saying that I'm glad "High on love" got through! :cheer: I think that was the best entry in this semi final, and what I think could do best if won (have only heard this semi final, though. I usually don't listen to the songs beforehand). Although I did like Irresistible the most. Incredibly catchy beats, especially! And I think they performed the song well. The Carburetors was obviously very predictable, but their fans have no perspective when it comes to eurovision. It's genre just have a big group of followers who probably hate all the other songs and most likely vote in protest or something *sigh* Either way, "High on love" was the most important song in this semi, and thank God "Så vidunderleg" didn't get through!

THE BJSC AWARDS 2011
I will give you my nominations before the end of the day, Tom!

BJSC XLI - Green Forest - Greenfroze - Confirmation room!
The semi final shows and results will be presented at a different location, completely unreachable by pods or any of the other transports available here. And I will reveal no more! :o I actually have one of those in a drawer behind me! :heehee: I haven't used it yet, just because I think it's so cool  :D

BJSC XLI - Green Forest - Greenfroze - Confirmation room!
The presidential king of Greenfroze and the national broadcast Tv network station Greenergy TV is proud to activate the Confirmation process and especially to present to you: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/BUZZJACK%20SONG%20CONTEST%20XLI/BJSCXLIBANNER.jpg This is the unique and official slogan for this contest. And there is a good reason behind our choice of words. Just think about it for a little bit; what does it mean? Naturally, music is understated in this context. It’s the connection we’re after. Because every single one of us participating, is life. We are life, hence we are more than our posts. More than our words. We are individual forces of life connected through music. We know what kind of powerful effects, emotions, thoughts and feelings music is capable of doing to us, and we choose to enter a song because of that. And because we want to share. Music connects our inner life, and music connects and unify the people of the (Buzzjack) world. One person can actually create/send a song on/from one side of the planet, and a group of people will listen to that song on the other side – and they might feel invigorated, depressed, happy, irritated, warm, romantic, dreamy, ecstatic, calm, nostalgic or even confused by that music. For the very same reason we’re all here; because of music, essentially connected by it. Now! Welcome to the green future of the present in the technologically magical nation of Greenfroze! The most sustainable life force of the BJSC world; the country where every aspects of a green lifestyle is fully and truly alive. Our politicians actively pursue green politics and have over hundreds of years successfully made possible the most environmental friendly approach to scientific research, infrastructure, education, economy, medicine, food production, industry and engineering. We will now showcase some of our revolutionary achievements through a series of photographs by the city of Green Forest. http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenforestcity.jpg http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/Greenforestcity2.jpg http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/futuristic-green-cities-tianjinoj.jpg Today we are honored to open this official confirmation building where each countries delegate will be transported in order to request and activate individual confirmations on national, musical representation. http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/GreenConfirmationBuilding.jpg This is inside in the core confirmation room. You can see the touchable screen where each delegate will be entering all the information needed to confirm. http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/Levelgreen.jpg There are several ways of getting to the CB. You can go cheap by bus: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/bus_1-1.jpg Faster, but a bit more expensive - by pods: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/pod1.jpg The highly comfortable way - by solar powered, personal urban tranits: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/Solar-Powered-Personal-Urban-Transit-System-of-the-Future-07.jpg Or if you want to have a little fun, there is always this innovative, small, awesome car: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af169/Greenfroze/Greenfroze/YeZ-Elei-useful-as-an-innovarive-system1.jpg But by no matter how you choose to travel, each delegate is responsible for getting to the CB and if you want to be the first one to confirm, you need to be there as soon it opens! Here are the rules of confirmation! 1. The most important rule of all comes first! BE INSPIRED! That means that you should try to send something that is most likely to be a fantastic discovery for most people. Preferably as many as possible. Make an effort out of it; because pure moments of life enhancing music is rare, and the main reason why we’re all here together. And you can actually provide one of those moments - which makes life worth living - to other people this way. So please do try to impress us somehow! 2. The second most important rule! There exists a thread in this forum. Yes, this thread. And in that thread there is a list of songs. Now, if one of your potential entries is on that list, it is no longer a potential entry. It’s banned. *sneaky laugh* 3. That also includes covers of any former BJSC song. 4. Any songs by Rachel Platten, Young London and The Charlies are not permitted to enter as well, due to their top three finishers in BJSC XL. 5. Don’t be a repeatador and send the same act as last time. Why? You just can’t. Oh and because it’s uninteresting, lazy and uninspired. 6. We all know it’s the beginning of the Eurovision season and if you’re about to send a song to me currently in the running to represent a country somewhere, like, well.. ANYWHERE, then click away from the message box and try again with something else - as eurovision songs are not allowed. 7. Oh and remember. You have ONE CHANGE to your selected entry. There is a lot of preparation to be done this time and I will be extremely irritated and flustered if people change more than one time, and this will make things a whole lot easier for me. So THINK thoroughly before you confirm! :o Now! All you need to do is send me your confirmation by PM to me (Freeze) in the following format: Country: Artist/group/band: Song: Music/Music video link: Download link with (preferably) an HQ version of your entry: (I’ve added that to the format because then you have the opportunity to give people the best quality version of your entry and MP3 collection would work automatically.) The deadline for submitting your choice is 26th of January – 23:59 CET (11:59pm for UK based participants). Everyone has had a long time to decide on what to send by now, and if my clock turns 00:00 I will delete every new conformational message sent to me, and if you haven’t sent an entry by then – you will have to wait a long time for BJSC XLII. It is first come first served, naturally, and if your song was sent before you or if your entry gets vetoed by the mods, I will immediately let you know about it so that you have the opportunity to change your entry. This will not affect rule 7, though! 39- Participants = One big final. (I will change the dates and stuff if it ever comes to that.) 40+ Participants = Semi finals. If you haven’t made a flag yet, then I would greatly appreciate it if you made one and sent it to me or posted it in the thread for flags before the 27th! Because the flags are all part of the graphical elements to make things look more special and interesting and to symbolize that every one of us are a part of the same world as individual countries. Oh and one last thing! I will be auto qualifying to the final. That happens to be my prerogative and it is my first time ever winning this contest, so I may not get a second chance to do so for a very long time (or even never!). If there is an even number of participants, then Ojnoj has also earned the right to AQ as well! START CONFIRMING! :w00t: ------------------ CONFIRMED COUNTRIES (in chronological order): 1. BJSC XLI Green Room - Green Forest - Greenfroze
Yes. A youtube/soundcloud link and preferably a download link as well.
