United Kingdom 2014
I'm just hoping that it isn't a really boring forgettable ballad though.

United Kingdom 2014
I'm beyond excited ! Are the BBC going to get EVERYTHING right this year?!
-
Ireland 2014
I really like this winners song - it kinda sounds like something I've heard before but Ireland should do well this year!

Boris for Deputy PM?
I love boris! I'd vote tories if he was in charge - hate that egg head Cameron!

United Kingdom 2014
Stacey could work but her song would probably be a very dated ballad. Joe has yet to have a decent song excluding ambitions so i presume anything he sang at eurovision would be awful. Josh - Seriously? one of the worst entries we have EVER sent. He's hot but that's it - he's never going to be a successful popstar. Honeyz - Dated/ Boring. Hope none of these are true!

Spain 2014
I was looking forward to hearing Ruth's song but her entry is nothing special. I think my favourite is Brequette followed by la dama but i think it's safe to say spain won't be winning again this year.

Oscars | Nominations
Here is what i want to win ( but i doubt they will) BEST PICTURE “Dallas Buyers Club” - Portion of History that i think a lot of people would not have been aware of. Great actors and a strong, emotional story-line. Hustle will prob win. BEST DIRECTOR Alfonso Cuaron, “Gravity” - For the obvious technical reasons. BEST ACTOR Matthew McConaughey, “Dallas Buyers Club” - Character showed much more depth than others nominated but it's probably leo's time. BEST ACTRESS Cate Blanchett, “Blue Jasmine” - Never been fond of cate but she was amazing in this film. Not a clue who will win - 3 horse race cate/sandra/meryl BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY “Her” – Written by Spike Jonze - I chose this because it is 'original' in thought - a 'scary' insight in to what our future could be like in a few years time! BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY “12 Years a Slave” – Screenplay by John Ridley - meh at this category BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS Lupita Nyong’o, “12 Years a Slave” - Poor list of nominees - prob the best performance. I do LOVE julia though. Shame Margot Robbie didn't get a nom. BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR Jared Leto, “Dallas Buyers Club” - Surely Jared has to win this?! BEST ANIMATED FILM “Frozen” - Disney at its best. BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY “Gravity” - I haven't seen all these noms so ill go for the obvious and say, gravity. BEST COSTUME DESIGN Catherine Martin, “The Great Gatsby” - Perfect! BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM “The Broken Circle Breakdown” Belgium - seems like the biggie. (if you haven't already check out the shortlist movie 'LORE' from 2012 - amazing cinematography) BEST MAKEUP AND HAIRSTYLING “Dallas Buyers Club” Adruitha Lee and Robin Mathews - because i can't imagine the academy voting bad grandpa! BEST ORIGINAL SONG “Let It Go” from “Frozen” Music and Lyric by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez - Has to be. BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN “The Great Gatsby” Production Design: Catherine Martin; Set Decoration: Beverley Dunn All in All i hope that American Hustle wins nothing as it really is over hyped but it has a cast that the Hollywood elite love so it will probably clean up. I just hope that Dallas Buyer's club gets the recognition it deserves!

Dallas Buyers Club
They both deserve to win Oscars. Incredible film.

Melodifestivalen 2014 / Heat 1 · Malmö
Well i think sweden has made a huge mistake... Helena's vocals werent amazing but it was by far the best song in this heat - i think she would have stood a better chance trying to represent greece again as her sound is much more southern European than scani pop imo. YOHIO - seriously? I think the wannabe japanese singer image is a bit stupid and won't pick up points across europe / crap song and okay vocal. Ellen Benediktson - Best vocals of the night and the song starts out well but turns reallllly boring as it goes on - this would not light europe alive!
-
Melodifestivalen 2014 / Heat 1 · Malmö
I love the Helena song but i think theyve autotuned her voice a bit too much. Shame she isn't entering for greece as i can't see the juries wanting sweden to win again so soon.

United Kingdom 2014
The sun newspaper reported today that the BBC has informed them that they are working with music professionals to obtain an artist for eurovision this year - so that means no public vote or the voice winner :( - but it is the sun so we can't be 100% sure they aren't making it up! They are also stating that the BBC want geri halliwell more than anybody else because she will bring 'camp' to the eurovision... terrible decision if true! The bbc need to see it as a song contest! It seems the BBCs mind is working like this: 2012 - Engelbert Humperdinck - Huge 60s/70s star 2013 - Bonnie Tyler - Huge 80s star 2014 - Geri Halliwell ? - Huge 90s star 2015 - a huge 00s star? 2016 - somebody relevant? & the uk finally does well!

Spain 2014
I hope she gets through! But would spain vote for a song in english? Maybe she could sing it in Spanglish ;p

United Kingdom 2014
Jessie J could write a pretty good pop song if shes on form... id rather her not perform it but if it means getting a decent song for once then fair enough! I hope this year the bbc will find a jade ewen style strong singer and get them to sing 4 amazing songs and then we pick the best one... then we send them to eurovision where they sing a great song in tune - look great AND dance. asking for too much?
-
United Kingdom 2014
I don't particularly like the idea of kitty but she can sing and would bring an image ... But could the bbc pull their finger out and find a decent song when they couldn't even do it for jade ewen... I think not!

Kimberley Walsh • A Whole Lot of History
I've really gone off Kimberly - she seems really fake and like she loves herself in interviews. I think there was a lot of jealousy towards Nadine but when you put it in to perspective, Nadine carried them vocally for most of their career and would have had to work a lot harder than the rest of them... and then when they had their comeback they teamed up against her and tried to make sure she got almost non of the limelight. Just look at their horrific final single where Nadine hardly sang... Kimberly was great at speaking 1 line in each song.

United Kingdom 2014
Ruth Lorenzo? Are they taking the actual piss! Can eurovision just be given to ITV already? Please! plus if spain don't want her she would be stupid to turn down the opportunity to represent the UK considering her career is dead in the water!

Naya Rivera feat. Big Sean - Sorry
i like it. Not amazing but yer.

Mel B - 'For Once in My Life'
It's an okay song but it's not good enough to set the charts alight. It also sounds nothing like her - she has been voice changed to hell! Her dancing and jumping about in the video is really bad too - kinda like a mum trying to be a popstar? Her want you back video is cool... she should have stayed being 'edgy'.
