  1. I do really like this song but I think this is this years Mei Finegold where fans love it but it won't pick up shed loads of points.
  2. It does sound like it is going to be great! But I wouldn't vote for Russia even if they sent loreen as I don't think they should host again till it's safe for the millions of gays to ascend in the country.
  3. I never knew that either! Was a great entry from Serbia - don't get why it underperformed
  4. I don't get this song. I think it's awful. Serbia will probably do well because it's Serbia.
  5. I do think any country should be allowed to send whatever language they want to send. They're paying to participate and want to win so they should be allowed to make an appropriate choice. Plus the music they consume at home will largely be sung in English so it isn't like they aren't use to hearing it. However ideally I would like countries to sing in dual language. I think it makes most sense as they can appease the wider audience and bring meaning whilst also retaining culture and providing national pride back home. I do like some of the foreign songs but I struggle to sing them and have no clue what they are saying haha I think 2 recent examples which I have enjoyed are Urban Symphony - Rändajad (Estonia) which was amazing and I'd love to hear it in English and also Serbia - "Caroban" I also think singing in English can alter an artists style because they don't speak the language well. For instance when Lena performed her spoken English wasn't good but her singing English was excellent and had an essence of lily allen to it. She still rarely speaks in English in interviews and her current song sounds like Ellie goulding so I think that shows that she still doesn't master the language and is regurgatating accents/ styles that she hears. I really love lena but it'd be interesting to see how differnent she would be if she was a German language singer
  6. All of these are pretty crap. I do like zoe but I can't imagine them sending a French song. Johann Sebastian Bass is actually really catchy - I think if this got through it would be the novelty song people would vote for over the UK.
  7. Glad we have something uptempo. The song is very Middle Eastern sounding, it's alright but nothing special. He looks like a dad on a night out dancing to me 😂
  8. I actually think this song is awful. The singer is really pretty but it makes my ears bleed haha I was totally expecting Hungary be at it's usual best
  9. Sounds great! Not a ballad. But Israel have struggled to make the final with amazing songs the last few years and I can see politics getting involved and people not picking up the phone for them this year even if it's great but I hope I'm wrong.
  10. It seems like the Caucasus regions always style and bring good music videos. I do think people underestimate styling at the event - in my head if Slovenia didn't wear that awful dress last year she would have done loads better ha
  11. Oh and yes, please can we have the perfect Sirusho back rather than one of those creepy out of tune twins.
  12. Oh and yes, please can we have the perfect Sirusho back rather than one of those creepy out of tune twins.
  13. Ok so that was a hot mess. They might not even make the final with that as boom boom Chaka Chaka was better than this! This is obviously a political song without actually stating what they are soft implying. Nice music video though. I do like when contestants are given a nice music video are styled well!
  14. ezv9gNW37LQ Here is the Latvian entry with some choreography. It is VERY Loreen'ish - The start and end is very good and the middle would need some rethinking but with a bit of polishing up i think this choreography would make this song go down a storm at Eurovision! Less focus on just her vocals / no backing singers on stage with edgy lighting and removing a few of the cheesy dancer moves and i think they'd be on to a winner! Also in the youtube comments on this video, the guy she is dancing with says this: Avikk Parkour: I guess so...but unfortunately i won't be in Europe that time...so i will have to replace myself withsomeone else with the same Choreography. But the best part is - Aminata is there :) All she needs to win, she has it already...she can make it without me for sure :) Thanks a lot Pasi for the Appreciations :) Sounds like he is just saving face and the broadcaster is looking for a hotty for her to dance with! Which would also help ;p Can we have the Ukrainian hamster wheel man back, please?

Macedonia (Eng) The first 9ish songs are all pretty interchangeable and the last 15 i couldn't really care less about. I do think my favourite is Germany but the initial instrumental needs changing and she needs better staging and less jazz hands. Latvia i have put in second place because i think it has so much potential but i have a huge issue with her vocals and awful backing singers.. hopefully they'll drop them, fix hers and ideally shorten the song else it might drop down come may.
  16. I think the only way that it is going to do better than Molly is if it is surrounded by all ballads and stands out - which looks like it will be. However, i don't want it to do too well because that will re-install in the mindset of the British public that the contest is just an irrelevant joke and after taking it seriously with Molly that would be a shame. I'd personally rather the thing come last and the public to kick off so that next year we will have selections, transparency and a good song.
  17. He mentioned in his press conference that there were 2 ballads he was choosing from? BUT considering almost every song is a ballad this year, i can totally see australia trying to get something uptempo out of their plans as they really want to win and with a big uptempo gap they should be going after that.
  18. I do like this new song but to be honest it sounds like it is Ellie singing and i don't think that is a good thing as there is a fine line between inspiration and sounding like a tribute act... I'm not sure which this is from the first listen but it's sounding like that latter & I'm enjoying the electronic direction but i do hope she doesn't sound like ellie on every song. Also the song has been played on radio already and it isn't on itunes until may?!
  19. The revamp is very good indeed but i do think it gets too repetitive and like a few other entries should be a little shorter.
  20. I really like this. I'd rather it be a little bit shorter though as i start to get bored before the end. Very current and something you could hear on Radio 1.
  21. I still hate it =[ Also I bet the staging is another Arlene Phillips production because, you know, she's friends with the BBC.
  22. Maybe that'd lure Slovakia back :cheer:
  23. It's ok- it's more of a bad eurovision entry that pops up and I really don't like the tone of their voices. The sing gets better towards the end and they will struggle to make it through semi 2 but I hope they do for the sake of czechia's future participence!
  24. I wonder why the uk never brings back a former entrant anymore? Other counties do it with various success but I do think it's a good idea because there is already a eurovision fanbase/ recognition of the artist in place to an extent. Anyway I say this because I just saw that Jade ewen is doing some tour with Andy Abraham and the first series winner of the voice... Which seems like a total waste of her potential. For me, jade is one of the best singers we ever sent but the choice of song was incorrect and should have been uptempo like her déjà vu performance ... Anyway anybody else feel that we should send jade or another contestant back again? Or should we always send somebody else to have a crack at winning?
  25. I do love lena! Can't wait to hear this. 😁 here's to hoping that she releases in the uk annnd promotes. Won't happen but you can dream! She's such a good popstar to waste!
