Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
Sounds quite like a Ryan Tedder production ^_^

"Halo" • Fourth Single
I really hope 'Halo' manages to chart inside the Top 10 sometime soon. It's been steadily rising ever since its release so it would be a shame to see such a great song fall short of the success it deserves.

No Can Do [Single Thread]
IMO the release off 'Change' was handled really badly. Yeah 'AYN' was their biggest hit to date and I'm fine with that but releasing the experimental 'Denial' and not-one-of-their-best-ballads in 'Change' straight after was a big no-no in my eyes. Admittedly, single sales were never gonna be huge after both the album and lead single rocketed to Number One, but I would have released them as follows: 01 | About You Now 02 | Never Gonna Dance Again 03 | Change 04 | Surprise (maybe Denial Double A Side)

Teardrops On My Guitar
Wow, bad choice when there are far superior songs from her catalogue for a UK release. 'Tim McGraw' 'Forever and Always' 'Fearless' 'White Horse' Would all have been better single choices....I fear with 'TOMG' people will just find her too childish and not actually appreciate how mature her music can actually sound.

If you wanna SLY CHICK---
It would have been interesting to see them lead with a ballad, considering they tend to leave them to one of the final releases off their albums.
-
If you wanna SLY CHICK---
'Side Chick' could have been anthemic if they'd thought straight and released it as the lead single off of Catfights instead of the hideous 'Girls.'

'The Fame' ● Album Discussion Thread
I really think LoveGame has a good shot at success if released correctly, it really does get stuck in your head and is a certain club-banger for sure. Money Honey Boys Boys Boys (See this as more of a summer hit over Eh Eh Eh tbh) Beautiful Dirty Rich Starstruck (Charting highly on the Bubbling Under) Paparazzi All have massive appeal as singles and GaGa could certainly 'do a RiRi' and milk her debut for all its worth.

I think what would have really helped 'Paper Gangster' is a third verse where there is a really long and unnecessary instrumental right before the final chorus. I just love the verses of that song

If there had been a Catfights tour...
Catfights & Spotlights Tour Intro The set is designed as a large city scape with tall skyscrapers and buildings surrounding a huge video screen placed in the middle of it, the band featured either side of it and a large stage that has many compartments that allow the performers and the various props used to rise up onto it. A heavy brass instrumental begins to play as gold sparks fly from the ceiling as the screen features a POV video of a car driving at high speed through the city before it screeches to a halt. The gold sparks emit one final shower before the lights turn out. The band strike up the opening notes of 'No Can Do' and as the lights return, the girls stand there, in short black dresses amongst a sea of shirtless men. I - Step into the Spotlight 01 | No Can Do 02 | Push The Button 03 | Stronger 04 | Round Round As 'Round Round' closes, the girls stand in the centre of the stage, a ring of men surrounding each of them as they begin to descend beneath the set. The stage begins to clear as an instrumental is played the band and a video montage of various flowers opening and closing appear on the large video screen. The lights emit purple and pink hues as violins accompany a string of dances onto the stage for the second Act. The girls re-appear wearing blue, green and pink outfits and they walk to the front of the stage to their microphone stands. II - Sweet Aromas of Change 05 | Change 06| Surprise 07| Side Chick 08 | Denial At the end of 'Denial' a rain storm begins to brew and the stage clears as fog covers the set. The video screen plays a montage of storm and rain effects as a slow violon solo is played. The girls make their return to the stage dressed in all white, flowing robes. 09 | Sunday Rain 'Sunday Rain' ends and suddenly a siren begins to sound and many dancers flock the stage as a heavy club beat begins to play. The girls disrobe to reveal far more provocative black outfits as they strut to the front of the stage once more. III - Angels and Overdramatics 10 | Freak Like Me 11 | Beware 12 | Red Dress 13 | Blue 'Blue' signals the end of the Third Act and the lights go out as the video screen returns to the fast paced video of a car racing through a city scene. Male dancers dresses in suits and top hats arrive on the stage as the car begins to come to a halt and the camera pans out, revealing two other cars either side of it. Amelle's spoken intro of 'You On A Good Day' begins to play as three actual life-size cars rise up from beneath the stage, each with a babe seated on it. IV - Revving the Rims 14 | You On A Good Day 15 | Hole In The Head 16 | Every Heart Broken As the Act closes, the cars return beneath the stage but the girls do not return with it and instead move to the back of the stage as a dance break down between 10 015 male dancers begin. V - Finish Line Ahead 17 | Girls 18 | Overload 19 | Ace Reject / Joy Division medley The girls close the act with a fierce display of pyros as they disappear for perhaps the final time from the stage. The lights begin to flicker as the video screen shows an elevator travelling upwards, picking up speed, until it is eventually racing to the top of its building. As it reaches the summit it slows and as the doors open in the video, the video screen opens in real-life and the Babes step out for their final song. VI - The Heart of the Spotlight 20 | About You Now They close the set with a bow before returning into their makeshift elevator, to an extended chorus of 'About You Now.' Thoughts please.

'Paparazzi' • 3rd Single Thread
I guess 'Bluffin with my muffin' is a bit out there but considering the 'disco stick' reference is continually used throughout LoveGame...I can see why some people would have an issue with that. I however certainly do not :D

Predict: Katy Perry - Waking Up in Vegas
Damn I wanted the far superior 'If You Can Afford Me.' Its such a shame that 'Thinking of You' flopped, this doesn't deserve to do any better. A great album track but there more worthy releases than this.

Gosh, The Fame and Starstruck are part of the songs that sell the album IMO. And no love for Paper Gangster around here? It's surging up there in becoming one of my favourite GaGa tunes :D

The Circus Starring: Britney Spears [Tour Thread]
So if you guys could choose to re-configure Britney's entire tour and set-list how would you do it? Seeing as she's only included 3, now possibly 4, tracks off the current record, mine would go something like this: Intro Many acrobats and various other circus performers dance around on stage as the Perez Hilton/Britney opening begins to play over the circular screens above the three-ringed circus. As the video comes to an end the the performers line up on the outer edge of the main stage while the remaining few form a small ring in the centre of it. The opening of 'Break The Ice' is heard with the 'It's been a while...' intro as Britney descends from the ceiling. As she reaches the stage she withdraws a long, sleek black whip and after a firm crack of it, the intro to 'Circus's starts up and the show truly begins... Act I - Welcome...to the Circus 01 Circus 02 Break The Ice 03 Radar Circus - Outro As Britney descends down the centre of the stage to the Outro, the various performers begin to bring forth many mirrors of different widths and heights. Their frames are dirtied gold and some of them have large cracks down the centres of them. They are positioned at different points on the stage as Britney ascends from the centre of the ring clad in a fitting black catsuit encrusted with gems; marking the beginning of the Second Act. Act II- Hall of Mirrors 04 Mannequin 05 Freakshow 06 Overprotected 07 Shattered Glass With the closing notes of 'Shattered Glass' the lights go out and the loud sounds of glass smashing is heard booming over the speakers as the stage is cleared once the lights resume. With the stage empty, smoke begins to appear as a lone chair emerges from the centre of the stage, Britney microphone in hand, seated upon it. Spears wears a long and flowing perwinkle blue dress. Act III - The Calm Before the Storm 08 Shadow (Maybe interchanged with 'Everytime' at selected dates) 09 Unusual You 10 Out From Under As 'Out From Under' draws to an end, the smoke suddenly stops and the stage is filled from all sides with swarms of paparazzi as Britney removes her dress to reveal a far more flexible attire as she moves in to the final number to close the Act. 11 Piece Of Me Britney manages to flee the ensuing paparazzi, who intent on capturing her picture, follow her off stage. Lots of strobe lighting begin to fill the stage as a montage of various Britney videos begin to play over the screens, ending in the infamous 'It's Britney Bitch.' The lights go out only to be immediately turned on again to find Britney returned to the stage, this time wearing a two pieced attire with several dancers on all fours surrounding her. Act IV - Centre Stage 12 Gimme More 13 If U Seek Amy 14 Toxic 15 Oops!/Crazy/Boys medley culminating in a shortened Me Against The Music dance breakdown. At the end of the breakdown, everyone leaves the stage as circus music is played and more performers appear to entertain the fans in attendance before the final act. A few magic tricks are shown before a cage containing Britney is lifted from the middle of the ring. Act V - Curtain Call 16 Lace And Leather 17 Get Naked (I Got A Plan) 18 Showdown Everyone takes their bows and leaves the stage while Britney returns to the cage, descending with it down the centre. Strobe lights flicker as an instrumentalised version of 'Break The Ice' begins to play before it's stopped by Britney's spoken words in 'MATM'; 'Are You Ready?' Encore 19 Me Against The Music 20 Womanizer Thoughts? :)

Circus Tour inidcative of single releases?
Do artists often release bonus tracks as singles? If so, Quicksand and Phonography should definitely lead the way :)
-
iTunes Thread: March 2009 (Part 2)
I really hope 'Halo' can pull it off and climb to the top....easily the most superior song on Bey's current album, and perhaps one of the greatest songs from Ms.Knowles' career.
-
Circus Tour inidcative of single releases?
IMO the perfect way to close this era would be 'Unusual You' and 'Kill The Lights' as the 4th and 5th singles respectively, maybe a Special Edition re-release with one final single to squeeze those final few album sales out of us before she takes a break and then works on the next album?
-
Circus Tour inidcative of single releases?
So looking at Britney's set-list, 'Womanizer', 'Circus' and 'If U Seek Amy' are the only tracks off the current album to be performed...does this pretty much confirm that these three will be the only singles released from the record? If so, BIG MISTAKE happening seeing as a few more releases for 'Unusual You' and perhaps a Deluxe Edition with a few new tracks could really help push the longevity of this album.
