Snow Patrol are really benefitting from downloads aren't they? :o

Has anyone noticed that a lot of the 'extra' Big Brother shows (Big Brother's Little Brother, Big Brother's Big Brain) seem to be showing Aisleyne in a more positive light now after being really negative about her for weeks on end? In fact the switch seemed to begin after Friday. Of course this is nothing to do with the fact that the voting has switched to positive voting now and rather than hype anyone up as someone we want to kick out they want to make everyone look as good as possible. I think that proves something that is actually bleeding obvious. Endemol care about nothing except money, money and more money.

I think it might have been called Streetmate. I remember Ronni Anacona's impression of Davina doing that on Alistar McGowan's Big Impression. THAT was legendary. I don't think Davina has talent to be honest. She just has a big mouth.

Apparently Davina used to know Grace's mother very well and was quite chummy with her. Davina is annoying. She's not much different from most of the ex-housemates. She's only famous for being on Big Brother.

I also wonder if Grace returning has helped Aisleyne's popularity? She's still the only one who's stood up to her and people seem to hate Aisleyne less from being reminded how foul Grace is.

I'd love it if Aisleyne won, but I doubt she will. If she comes top 3 that'll be fantastic though.

I want Aisleyne to do well, but she has no chance of winning. Probably third place if she's very lucky.
  8. Pete or Aisleyne.
  9. ghostwriter posted a post in a topic in Television
Yeah, I agree. The only two I'd like to do well are Pete and Aisleyne. I'd be happy if Glyn came 6th place as well, but that won't happen.

Nah. I'm the same age as Horse Face Grace and I have no sympathy for her. She knew when her 21st birthday was coming up. If the fame seeking little trollop didn't want to spend it getting booed by a crowd then she shouldn't have agreed to go back in the house, especially after the reaction she got the first time round.
  11. People have been going on about scrapping the singles chart for years now and it still hasn't happened. In fact, it seemed more people were loudly ranting about doing that just before download sales were added. Since downloads were added, the 'scrap the singles chart' rants have died down a little. I don't think the physical single dying out means the end of the singles chart. Look at America. Physical sales there have been practically non-existent for over a decade, but singles have still been released to radio and videos made to promote the album even if it is never released in the shops. Admittedly airplay has always counted on their chart which means even with low sales they had something to base it on, but downloads definitely sell a fair bit over there. Download sales have changed how the Hot 100 has worked- you have more number ones over there now. Plus, does anyone actually remember sales figures from years gone by? You remember songs you like, but how many will be able to say exactly how many that song sold? Very few. The fact is, download sales make the chart more relevent. I see no reason why the physical single 'dying out' will mean the end of the singles chart. Downloading is just a new format, like CDs replacing vinyl.

Sadly I think it's likely we will see Grace galloping into the House Next Door tonight. I was happy to see her go.
  13. The TV series was much better. The film just seemed to fall apart, especially towards the end. I agree Kristy Swanson was very good in it though.
  14. 1997. I think the first single I ever bought was Ricky Martin-Livin' La Vida Loca though. I didn't really buy singles much then, I just taped the ones I liked off the radio.
  15. Very good commentary this week. He's spot on about almost everything here, especially Shakira and Paris Hilton (and radio one deciding Paris is 'cool' when Shakira isn't?), and I liked his 'everyone has gone on holiday for the first two weeks in August' comment. I agree with him that it looks as if dance music is making something of a chart comeback as well.

I think most cases of musical 'rip offs' are overstated. There are only a few notes you can use, and they have to go together to make a tune. So obviously some songs are going to sound similar to other ones. With samples, as long as it's given clearence and pay royalties they can do what they like. As far as Unfaithful is concerned- it's an utterly generic run-of-the-mill song, that's why it sounds like so many other songs before it.

This twist is just stupid I think, and smacks of desperation. However, if any ex housemate goes back in it should be Nikki. I imagine this whole thing was just an elaborate ruse to get Nikki back in. And, just like the elaborate ruse that caused Nikki to get kicked out in the first place, it'll probably backfire on them. I definitely don't want Horse Face Grace to go back in though.

I think this twist is a little stupid and desperate myself. But I guess if any of them have to go back in it should be Nikki.

I hope Mikey goes. If he does, the only ones I don't like in the house will be Imogen and Glyn- and Imogen was quite good arguing against Mikey last episode.

The AOL Poll said Richard & Pete would be going last week, so I think we can say it's a load of bollocks. I really doubt Jennie is that unpopular. Aside from being a newcomer, she's done nothing for people to form an opinion of her either way. Susie and Imogen have more than their fair share of haters as well. Why people pay any attention to the AOL Poll is beyond me. I always go by the bookies, who have been correct every time this series. Mikey is currently the bookies favourite to go, but it is really close between him and Susie. Imogen and Jennie are way behind.

Susie was fantastic tonight! Very funny. I can't blame her for being annoyed either. She was in there having to listen to that awful music for half an hour. She did laugh and take it as a joke at first, then she got irritated, as I think anyone would after half an hour of being kept waiting and having that music played. I've always found her snootyness funny myself, as is her always acting like a strict school teacher. In any case, I think it's safe to say Susie's diary room antics tonight were much funnier than Glyn's annoying "6 and 9, 69 huh huh huh" stuff.

Is this confirmed? Odd choices. I thought there'd be bigger characters like Aisleyne or Richard up. Still, I like those two so hopefully this is true and we can get rid of more dead wood. Mikey is the most annoying out of that lot.

I didn't see the film myself, but I remember Timothy Spall doing interviews about a film called Pierrepoint about excutioner Albert Pierrepoint, who had to actually carry out hangings for people who had been given the death penalty, and apparently he was very traumatised about what he had had to do later on in life.

I'm against the death penalty. One of the reasons being the Myra Hindley/Ian Brady case. Brady apparently wants to die and has been on hunger strike for seven years surely keeping him alive is a far worse punishment in that case. As for Myra Hindely, if she was put to death then she would never have been able to reveal where some of the victims bodies were buried in 1987. I think though that if you're found guilty of murder (barring been subsequently found to be not guilty) then I do think life should mean life. I also think that prison should be much tougher than it's reported to be at the moment.
  25. I think Smile was based on a sample, so she probably nicked the melody from someone else anyway and put her ''yeah but, no but, am I bovverred?" lyrics over it. This parody is a bit rubbish though. The only funny bit is them singing Vindaloo at the end, reference to Lily's rich daddy Keith Allen there. I suppose this guy can sing better than Lily, but that's not exactly difficult.
