Final TOTP show
Thank you! Why don't people realise that? If Shakira is the current number one, then she should be played at the end.

Final TOTP show
I thought it was OK overall. Some weird choices of clips though. It was a bit of an anticlimax that they only played the video of the number one song though.

Lily Allen slams Victoria's image
Didn't really old cartoons show women dressed rather sluttily though? Betty Boo for one, plus most really old Warner Brothers cartoons seemed to have a smutty 'sexy woman' joke amongst them somewhere. That Rescusers film snuck in a poster of a naked woman that passed the censors for gods sake. Most of these sort of cartoons hardly ever get shown nowadays though, posibly mostly because some of the jokes in them are un-PC. A general point- I really don't get why people think sex is more offensive than violence. Violence is tolerated all the time, and sex, something perfectly natural, is regarded as taboo. Strange. Although I can understand protecting children from sex more, if my own adolescense is anything to go by, you have no interest in sex and find it disgusting until you hit puberty and want to try it out because your hormones are going all over the place. Are we supposed to believe music videos somehow kickstart puberty earlier? I wonder if people are going to reply they are 'sure' it does without a shred of medical evidence to back it up. The reason the Pussycat Dolls, Girls Aloud and the others dress slutty and do lads mags is its another way to keep them in the public eye, more ways to raise publicity. Most of the people that buy their records are teenage girls and gay men. Unless the girls are lesbians, why would they be bothered by how the girls are dressed? They wouldn't be attracted to them. I remain unconvinced that if all these music videos had all women dressed as nuns that all the STIs and paedophiles in the world would magically disappear like some people are making out.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
It's from The Daily Star, so I'd say it's a safe bet that it isn't true. They'll only put Nikki, or any other evicted housemate, back in if they are extremly desperate for ratings, and I think the ratings are doing OK so far this series. I wouldn't mind Nikki coming back, as she was a good laugh most of the time, but she's been evicted fair and square.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
There's a rumour going round by Welsh speakers that what Imogen said was mistranslated. Apparently she actually said "I want to stay, I want to be here for the finale" rather than "I will stay, I will be here for the finale". To be honest, I like Susie. I think she is funny given how posh she is and I like the strict schoolteacher role she plays in the house. I think Glyn, Spiral and Mikey are stupid and ungrateful to be honest. They'll be the first to whine when they have no one to do all the cooking and clean up after them. I agree about Imogen having no personality, but the fact is she doesn't annoy me all that much compared to Spoiral and Michael. Spiral is just an idiot chav, and I can't stand the sight of Michael wandering around in his incontinent old pensioner grey underpants any longer :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: .

Big Brother UK • Series 7
Well its fairly certain that Richard & Pete are safe, so I'll go for saving Imogen and Susie. Susie is quite good most of the time, and I can just about put up with Dimogen. I can't stand Spoiral and Michael.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
I still kind of like Aisleyne, though her insipid 'I'm so blonde and blue eyed sweet and innocent and hate to do horrible things' whining about stuff like nominations one minute and going into faux ghetto biatch mode the next does get a bit irritating.

I saw a sample of what is apparently the Machiavelian test, and if that's what it is then those Big Brother tests aren't much more acurate than those things you can get on Quizilla or BlogThings. Glyn probably has more academic intelligence because he's still in school. I was always surprised about how much my parents seemed to have forgotten from school, but I haven't been in high school for five years now and I've forgotten a great deal about equations and igneous rocks because I don't really use that information any more.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
I didn't like Richard at first as he came across as very sleazy with whole 'sexual terrorist' c**p in his introduction video, but I like him more now. He's an intelligent guy and seems quite nice actually, even if he is very false. I'd rather he stay in the house just because it knocked the smug looks of Mikey, Dimogen and Michael's faces. russt68 made an excellent point as well that Richard is hardly as sleazy as Mikey biting girls arses and Glyn going through puberty. I think Nikki went because she was a 'love her or hate her' character. She provoked strong reactions in people, which is why she probably should have stayed in the house. It's certainly been duller since she left. I'm not sure whether I liked the girl herself or not, but she was very funny and has provided most of the best bits of this years Big Brother, so I can understand why she's so popular, and at the same time why she annoyed so many people. Either way, I'd rather she was in there than all the dead wood currently in.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Glad most people want Spiral & Michael or Glyn & Mikey to go.

I don't know if all the pairs will be up though. The way I heard its going to work is that each pair nominates another pair. Because of the combinations I think very few will vote for Susie & Imogen. Pete and Richard are probably safe, as are Glyn and Mikey unfortunately. Personally, if the nominations go the way its been rumoured it'll probably be Aisleyne & Jennie Vs Spiral and Michael.

Aisleyne & Jennie Susie & Imogen Pete & Richard Glyn & Mikey Spiral & Michael Which two do you want to go on Friday? Either Glyn & Mikey or Spiral & Michael will be good for me. Or better yet, all four of them. Sadly I think it'll be Aisleyne & Jennie who go.

Ah come on, it's not their fault Jayne got booted out. ;) I agree though that Glyn is repulsive and Imogen is just pathetic. To be fair to Jayne, she is much better a housemate and much more interesting a person than those two are put together.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
Ideally, I'd love Mikey and Imogen to go. Or Glyn and Spoiral. Realistically, I think it'll be Richard and Susie.

indoctrination of children..
Parents bring their kids up how they see fit though, whether that way is a good way or not. I guess if they are religious and truly believe in it they'll want to raise their kids that way too. I suppose the key thing is that parents will see their children as an extension of them- i.e if their child does well for themself then they have done a good job, if the child does badly then they've made a mistake somewhere, and there is some truth in that. But children are whole different people. They are individuals themselves with their own personalities and their own desires. So sometimes the child can go on to do well despite a bad upbringing and sometimes it isn't the parents fault if the child goes off the rails, although I guess the latter two are more true once their child has grown up, is an adult and therefore out of their care. The point being I think is that that person will eventually make up their own mind. Many people raised in a religious environment become atheists and many change religion, but if they chose to stay in that religion I guess its up to them. The point is, in countries not governed entirely by religious law at least, anyone raised with any religion will eventually make up their own mind about whether they want to still be a part of it or not.

Jayne I guess. She annoys me more than Richard. But I'd sooner get rid of all the dead wood than either of those two.

Lily Allen slams Victoria's image
Is there any actual proof for any of that though other than you being 'sure'? I think blaming pop stars for all the problems in the world is going way over the top, but that isn't anything new. Ever since the 1950s at least there have been people blaming it for the decay of society and predicting the world will end because of it. In reality I think it's often just a scapegoat to avoid dealing with the actual problems head on. The Pussycat Dolls are a rubbish, fine, but blaming them for paedophilia is going just a little too far. There are rapists, paedophiles, STIs and teenage pregnancies in countries where all the women are expected to be covered up from head to toe. In any case, none of this has much to do with what Lily Allen said. She just said Victoria is skinny (very observant isn't she? How many of us never knew that before Lily kindly informed us of it) and that her video doesn't promote mugging but the Pussycat Dolls somehow promote prostitution. Unless she ranted more on her blog apart from that, she never said anything about how young girls shouldn't look up to them and dress like them. All she said from the look of it was a typical Vicky Pollard-esque bitching session slagging off other girls for how they look and how they dress. Why people seem to think Lily's opinions are any more relevent than those of the next gobby little slapper I don't know.

Lily Allen slams Victoria's image
She picks easy targets doesn't she? Pretty much everyone has slagged of Victoria Beckham by pointing out the bleeding obvious- that she's too skinny, she has no talent and was probably a forerunner to all these 'famous for being famous' people we have now as all the attention on her wasn't her unsuccessful solo career, it was who she was married to and where she was going shopping. Lily herself doesn't have a much better voice than Victoria though. Plus, I'd say her overt 'it's funny to have someone beaten up and to break in their house and ruin all their stuff' video sends a lot worse message than the Pussycat Dolls generic seen it a billion times before 'dirty slags shoving their fannies in your face' videos do. Put it this way, if the Pussycat Dolls 'promote prostitution' I've yet to see a video which shows them accepting money from some guy who's just shagged them. Yes, you get them dancing around with some interchangable rapper but that's them and about a thousand other artists. If she considers that promoting prositution what does she consider her own video with her paying some chavs to beat that bloke up and break into his house and wreck it while she pours tablets into his drink and laughs as he gets upset about it all. ''Tongue-in-cheek'' and ''Just a bit or harmless fun'' probably. Why do some people hold her opinions up as pearls of wisdom? She's just some spoilt little rich girl who pretends she's a chav and says nothing that hasn't been said a lot more eloquently before. She just sounds thick. Pussycat Dolls, Victoria Beckham, Silly Alan- they're all as $h!t as each other.

Top 30 Physical Chart
:o. Shocked about Shayne Ward. Once again, thank god for downloads! That said, they really do push some songs very, very far down. It's a lot harder for indie acts to get high up the chart nowadays. A shame about Milburn, they'd have been top 20. But like the combined chart or not, it's more accurate at the end of the day.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
I think Jayne is only considered entertaining by default. She's kind of filling both Nikki and Lea's roles in the house at the moment, but she is nowhere near as interesting as either. I admit I'd rather get rid of the boring ones such as Glyn, Mikey and Dimogen before her, but let's be honest, unless Big Brother pull a lot of other twists to save her like last time then when she's up it'll be her that goes.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
He's my favourite. Pete is funny, he seems a very nice guy and is entertaining when he wants to be. The only thing is he hardly ever wants to be. He doesn't contribute much to the house apart from causing mass bunny boiling from a lot of crazy women who keep clawing each others eyes out to get a piece of him. I like Aisleyne a lot though. She's a good looking girl who seems very pleasent and has contributed a lot to the show- her reactions during the otherwise utter failure that was the House Next Door twist, her rivalries with Nikki, Lea and Grace and seems pretty grounded and one of the few interesting characters this year without any obvious mental health issues. So if Pete doesn't win for some reason I hope she does.

Big Brother UK • Series 7
No change for me, I never wanted Nikki to win even though I didn't want her to go. Pete still to win, and if not him Aisleyne. Dimogen, thankfully, has no chance of winning. She would win if it was a beauty contest, and indeed she has won Miss Wales, but she has less personality than a glass of water.
