Looking forward to their return! They put on a great show.
  2. My favourite single of 2004. Another favourite of mine from that year is Auf De Maur's Followed The Waves, but that only just scraped the top 40.
  3. Unless it's like the Vengaboys, where they all pretended to be from different countries when really they were all Dutch. Then again they didn't even sing on their records, so no surprise they fibbed about where they came from.
  4. Well technically the peak position of Strict Machine is #20, as that's the position it reached when it was reissued in May 2004. (It wasn't reissued to cash in on Rachel Steven's rip-off either as that came out in July 2004).
  5. Yeah, I did. It took a while to find it's feet, put it that way. Apparently Simon and Miquita didn't get on well to begin with either. One thing I did notice is that they weren't presenting with each other, they were presenting next to each other. Which is kind of what Alex and Alexa are doing at the moment. I actually thought the new show wasn't bad, but it was much better in it's original format. One thing I always remember in the early days of Popworld is that Mr. Bo Selecta, Leigh Francis was in it as well.
  6. 1) Outkast - Hey Ya (20 points) 2) Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For? (19 points) 3) Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out (18 points) 4) Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams (17 points) 5) Snow Patrol - Run (16 points) 6) Britney Spears - Toxic (15 points) 7) Streets - Dry Your Eyes (14 points) 8) Shapeshifters - Lola’s Theme (13 points) 9) Scissor Sisters - Laura (12 points) 10) Natasha Bedingfield - These Words (11 points) 11) U2 - Vertigo (10 points) 12) Lucie Silvas - What You're Made Of (9 points) 13) Anastacia - Left Outside Alone (8 points) 14) Destiny’s Child - Lose My Breath (7 points) 15) Usher Ft Lil Jon & Ludacris - Yeah (6 points) 16) Kelis - Milkshake (5 points) 17) Rasmus - In The Shadows (4 points) 18) Jamelia - Thank You (3 points) 19) Katie Melua - The Closest Thing To Crazy (2 points) 20) Kelis - Trick Me (1 point)
  7. I wish I could have placed a bet on the result of this now as I thought Christina would win! Good song.
  8. The Divine Comedy. Guns'N'Roses are just Axl Rose now aren't they? The Pretenders was just Chrissie Hynde towards the end.
  9. ATC- All Around The World- I remember that one! It got quite a lot of airplay as well. Good choice of cheese so far.
  10. I'm not the biggest dance music fan either, but I quite like From Paris To Berlin. It's really catchy. It'll probably end up annoying me though.

Hope they get someone good. Tarja might have been a total bitch, but she has a remarkable voice. It'll be difficult to find someone as good as her in that department. I wonder what she's going to do now though? Might be interesting to see what solo stuff she comes up with.
  12. I thought Bottom was very funny, although I was in high school when that was on so maybe that's why I liked it. I quite like 'Allo 'Allo from what I've seen of it, but to be honest I haven't seen much of it at all. I agree with thisispop about Men Behaving Badly and Absoulutely Fabulous- they have both dated REALLY badly compared to the likes of Father Ted. Just Good Friends was OK-ish I suppose. It's certainly no classic. I didn't mind Oh Doctor Beeching, but yeah it was just a poor imitation of Hi-Di-Hi. Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em was rubbish. Babes In The Wood was dire, and so is My Hero. Terry And June wasn't funny at all. I haven't seen any of the rest. I have heard of Diff'rent Strokes though. Gary Coleman pops up on TV now and again talking about it. The actress who played the teenage girl in that program became a porn star and commited suicide apparently.
  13. To be honest I think they were overrated to start with. They were hyped up like hell when Hate To Say I Told You So came out.

It was originally out in 1964 and she rerecorded it in 1976 with Marc Bolan.
  15. Yep, she was. She played Kristine Kochanski in the first two series and popped up again in series 6 before Chloe Annett took over for the last two series. Claire Grogan's character in Father Ted was funny though. "Don't call me a lovely lady, I've sold 20 MILLION RECORDS!!!"
  16. That song is actually older than Rolf himself- it was originally recorded in 1903!

Gloria Jones was married to Marc Bolan from T-Rex wasn't she? Yeah her's is the original. The song was 17 years old before Soft Cell got hold of it. As for Rhianna, I'm sick of hearing SOS now. It's telling that the best part of that track is something it nicked from another record.
  18. I love Mew! (The band).
  19. A7X

I like them musically, bever read an interview by them so can't comment on that.
  20. Like the song, the video is even better.
  21. They're alright I guess, but I don't think I'll be buying anything by them.
  22. It's dull. Hopefully this'll be the last we hear of them.
  23. I'm just wondering will Soft Cell make much money out of her nicking/sampling a bit of Tainted Love? The sample is from their recording of it, but as they didn't write it.
  24. I agree. Whenever Wherever and Just Like A Pill are both great songs. I've never understood why that dreary Beddingfield ballad is so popular though.
