  7. I think Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee, the blokes from My Name Is Earl are scientologists. Ethan Suplee is married to Juliette Lewis' sister as well. I also heard that Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) is one too. I can't believe so many people follow seem to be a part of the cult of scientology, although most of them seem to be celebrities, and lets face it, the inhabitants of Hollywood and Los Angeles in general have a bit of a reputation for living in cloud cuckoo land. But scientology really takes the biscuit. It is absolute nonsense and is an obvious scam. Seems perfect for people with more money than sense. South Park did quite a good episode on scientology, which apparently prompted Issac Hayes to quit the show, and in turn prompted Trey Parker and Matt Stone to give his character Chef a humiliating death. I have no sympathy for Hayes if that is the case as South Park makes fun of everything, and scientology is definitely open for ridicule.

I really liked Lene Marlin's 'Playing My Game' album. 'How Would It Be' was one of my top tracks of 2005 and I still like to play it a lot now. I think she did better in the rest of Europe than she did in the UK.
  9. I'd still rather have that than all the hip hop that fills up the US charts though. Also, those acts do tend to have very long chart runs over here anyway. But I definitely don't think airplay should ever be included on the UK charts. I think it's stupid the US includes it. Airplay probably does have an influence over here as to how long a song remains on the chart, but it should be on what people want to buy and not what radio stations constantly play.
  10. I think they may have to rethink the top 500 though. It goes on weeks on the chart, and since downloads were included you do get quite a few songs that spend 20+ weeks on the chart when before it was quite rare.

I don't mind McFly, and I quite like Transylvania. They are an act that have a loyal fanbase and practically zero interest outside of that fanbase, but I have nothing against them. There are far worse acts out there.

  23. True. I think Rihanna's song is the best of that bunch. The Snow Patrol track is a little dull (and I usually like their stuff), and Moron 5 certainly don't deserve to be number one. Interestingly, if Rihanna does get to number one she will share something in common with Gnarls Barkley's Crazy (getting to number one in the UK without a physical release) which is slightly ironic as it was Crazy that stopped her getting to number one with S.O.S.
  24. I really like the song, and I'm glad the reissue has beaten the peak of it's original release, but I much prefer the 2006 video. Bob Hoskins and everyone else in that video are terrible at lip-syncing. I suppose the new video has more to do with the actual meaning of the song than the first video though.
  25. I'm no fan of hers, but I find myself sympathising quite a lot with Lily Allen these days. :o Perhaps it's her own fault because of her early image/interviews, but it seems everything she says gets turned into her trying to start a fight or "attacking" someone. For example, I don't think any of her comments about Kate Moss were that bad at all, but the media seemed to make out they were. I think she does have a point about Dubya, and, as with most of Lily's comments, it's nothing that hasn't been said by many people already- including many Americans. And that bloke from Moron 5 is a smug tosser. That band make such bland music.
