Wikipedia - how accurate is the online encyclopedia?
I think Wikipedia is quite good for general/trivial information. This uni tutor I knew once said about Wikipedia "It's not an academic source, it's for pub quizzes". It's main problem, which is also probably it's main appeal, is that anyone can add or remove stuff on there.

Billboard Top 100 - 06/03/99
Angel Of Mine is a cover of the Eternal song. Maybe that's why Monica's version flopped when it was released over here (it only got to #55).

Chart Commentary from James Masterton 04/03/07
I don't always agree with him, but he's spot on about Cascada.

Ruby Amanfu - Sugah
That was a very good song, and I agree it should have been a bigger hit. Never seen the video before though. It's quite good.

No.1 Singles in 1992 in the Uk & Us
Oddly, Sir-Mix-A-Lot's 'Baby Got Back' gets a fair bit of play on UK music channels on those "classic hits" weekend things, even though it only made it to number 56. :o I remember 'Bohemian Rhapsody / These Are the Days of Our Lives' as my parents liked Queen. My mum also played 'Save The Best For Last' a lot back then. 'Stay' by Shakespeare's Sister is a fantastic song and I liked 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' and 'Sleeping Satellite' at the time too.

Should a 'recurrents' chart and rules be brought in?
I really don't think we should follow the US "any genre as long as it's R&B" Hot 100.

Celebrity Big Brother 5
I hope Jo does well. She seems a nice girl.

The Killers - A Great Big Sled
I like The Killers, but I wasn't that impressed with A Great Big Sled. Ah well, maybe it'll enter the charts next Christmas with all the other tracks that do well on downloads during December.

Girls Aloud's spoof All Saints track
I agree. Girls Aloud may have had more hits, but they've yet to make a song as good as that. I wouldn't say I was a "fan" of either act, but Girls Aloud may end up eating their words. They'll be has-beens one day, maybe very soon.

Chart shake up from 1st January
Yes. I think. It might not be as dramatic a change as people make out though. Remember when the download chart started someone said "In theory a 1960s album track by Bob Dylan could be number one on the download chart". Which is true in theory, but didn't happen. Also, remember the song that was number one when downloads were allowed to be included in the chart was.... Tony Christie and Peter Kay- Amarillo, on mostly physical sales.

the most annoying people of 2006
It doesn't really work like that. Everyone who watches Big Brother or whatever will have people they like and people they dislike in it. That's probably why those shows are so successful. No one is going to like all of the contestants, no matter how big a fan of the show they are.

the most annoying people of 2006
1) Heather Mills 2) Parisite Hilton 3) Louis Walsh 4) Grace (Big Brother 7) 5) Fergie 6) George Galloway 7) Sandi Thom 8) Lily Allen 9) Robbie Williams 10) Justin Timberlake

The Secret Family of Jesus
I missed it, but is the bloke who did it Robert Beckford? I remember a programme he did in Christmas 2004 called 'Who Wrote The Bible?'. That was very good.

Which would be the #1s of 2006
Cliff Richard with his Christmas single. I know a couple that wouldn't have been number one without added download sales- Orson- No Tomorrow and Nelly Furtado- Maneater.
-
Dr Who - The Runaway Bride
I thought it was alright. Catherine Tate was quite good.
-
Just Jack - Starz In Their Eyes
I liked Writer's Block better, but this one is quite good. Hope he does well next year.

BJ's Favourite Xmas Song Thread
There is a video for Christmas Wrapping, but it's just one a fan of the song did herself. I've not seen the original video (if there is one), but I think this fanmade one is quite good. The Waitresses- Christmas Wrapping 6Jy4X87fDk4 And also there's this interesting cover version of Walking In The Air by Nightwish. Nightwish- Walking In The Air (Live) ldOopyBy7u0

BJ's Favourite Xmas Song Thread
Agree completely with Scotty. This has been a great thread though, especially with the YouTube videos representing the good, the bad and the ugly of Christmas songs. Well done for doing this, thisispop.

iTunes Download Chart 2006
I wonder if Kelly's version of A Moment Like This will be able to chart next year when the new rules come in? That would be strange. It has never charted before in the UK has it?

Kaiser Chiefs furious with Girls Aloud
 That's kind of funny. Talk about santising. I suppose I can see why the Kaiser Cheifs are annoyed (and I guess why the lyric was changed on the Girls Aloud version as they have a lot of young kids as fans- BUT then why bother covering the song in the first place?). However- this article comes from Digital Spy and they apparently got it from The Daily Star... all I'm saying is it might not just be Girls Aloud who may have changed a few words from Kaiser Cheifs.
