Fantastic top 2. Both are among the best hit records of 2006. Really like Chasing Cars and Maneater.

- BuzzJack Record Of The Year 2006 -
I quite liked Hips Don't Lie, but I agree it isn't one of Shakira's best. Who Knew on the other hand is definitely one of Pink's best songs. Good track, glad it had a great chart run and has done well in this list.

- BuzzJack Record Of The Year 2006 -
Those two tracks are both entertaining enough dancey pop songs, so good that they've both done OK. Very pleased with how this thread is turning out so far. With the exception of Gnarls Barkley, all my favourites from the final 12 are top 4. :)

- BuzzJack Record Of The Year 2006 -
Most of my least favourites in the final 12 have gone now, namely The Feeling and Silly Alan. I really like Crazy, surprised it has done so badly in the countdown. Madonna and the All Saints ones are OK, nothing special. Not much of a fan of I Don't Feel Like Dancing. I think the Scissor Sisters older stuff is much better. Looking forward to the rest of the chart anyway.

Kind of glad The Feeling came last. Can't stand them.

Mariah Carey and others in the top ten worst xmas singles of
That version is awful. I thought No Use For A Name's cover wasn't too bad though. Of course nothing could top the original Pogues/Kirsty MacColl version. Great record, and definitely the best Christmas single we've had to date. I don't like Mariah, but considering All I Want For Christmas Is You is 1) A Christmas single and 2) a Mariah single, it isn't that awful.

2006...The year of flop follow ups to No.1 singles?
It couldn't really have been expected to match Crazy's success. That was number one for 9 weeks and is the biggest selling single of the year so far. Smiley Faces had a decent chart run as well. I don't think it did badly considering most people said they would be one hit wonders.

Ipswich Killings
I've never used prostitutes myself, but I think as long as there are horny blokes who can't get their end away and want a quick easy fix, and women who are prepared to do it for cash there will always be prostitution. So it probably will never go away.

Whatever happened to...
All this info is from Wikipedia, so take it with a pinch of salt: A- Jason Perry (vocalist) is working with Matt Willis  . Adam Perry (drummer) may be joining Bloodhound Gang, Daniel P. Carter (bass guitarist) is rumoured to become the host of Radio One's Rock Show. Alien Ant Farm- Tye Zamora (bass guitarist) left in April to go to college, and has been replaced by Alex Barretto. They have released two albums since ANThology, and, oddly enough, a DVD called BUSted. Sum 41- They had a couple of albums since All Killer No Filler (called Does This Look Infected and Chuck), which did OK-ish in the US and well in their native Canada. Dave Baksh (lead guitarist) quit in May, they'll be hiring a session guitarist to replace him, but he won't officially be in the band. Jason McCaslin (bass guitarist) is starting a side-project with Juliette Lewis. Deryck Whibley (vocalist) married Avril Lavigne in July this year and will be working on her next album. Wheatus- The line-up has changed many, many times. Brendan B. Brown (lead singer) is the only original member of the band still left in it. OPM-Matthew Meschery, who was the lead singer, main songwriter and provided most of the music, quit after the first album and now is a DJ on an American radio station. The rest have released a couple of albums since. Linkin Park- Said to be releasing their third studio album in early 2007. They say it "definitely isn't nu-metal". Unkle Kraker- Released an album in 2004. Rumoured to be releasing a new album next year.

Panic! At The Disco Declare Emo "Bull$h!t!"
They're obviously trying to jump on the anti-emo bandwagon having ridden the pro-emo bandwagon all the way to their current status. It'll serve them right if it doesn't work.

Lily Allen VS The Others...
If anyone is overrated, it's Lily Allen.

so is channel 4's forthcoming christmas message that
I quite liked The Simpsons alternative Christmas message. Not so keen on the Jamie Oliver one and I bet this year's one will be rubbish as well.

Ipswich Killings
According to the reports, a lot of the parents in this case didn't know their daughter was a prostitute. It's probably something they wouldn't want their parents to know about. Most of the prostitutes in this case are indeed women who went off the rails at some point and got caught up in drug addiction. As has been said, whatever you think of prostitutes and whatever situation these particular girls got themselves into, they don't deserve to be murdered. I hope they catch whoever is doing it soon. From what has been said it sounds like the enjoy the 'power' they might have from taunting the police or whatever.

Jamelia criticises Leona and Emma Bunton
It's a bit rich anyone involved with X Factor calling Jamelia a one hit wonder, when most winners of that show get two singles if they're lucky. I agree that she really should stop bitching just to get attention though.

- BuzzJack Record Of The Year 2006 - * FINAL *
1) Snow Patrol- Chasing Cars (100 points) 2) Gnarls Barkley- Crazy 3) Nelly Furtado- Maneater 4) Pink- Who Knew 5) Shakira Feat Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie 6) All Saints - Rock Steady 7) Rihanna- SOS 8) Madonna - Sorry 9) Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh 10) Scissor Sisters- I Don't Feel Like Dancin (10 points)

- BuzzJack Record Of The Year 2006 -
1) Nerina Pallot - Everybody's Gone To War  (7 points) 2) Nelly Furtardo - Maneater  3) Orson- No Tomorrow  4) Pink- Who Knew  5) Pipettes- Pull Shapes 6) Ordinary Boys - Boys Will Be Boys 7) Pussycat Dolls Feat Snoop Dog - Buttonz (1 point) I really like the top 4. It's a shame they're all in the same group in a way, but I think this is the best group of songs in this so far. This is the first one where I've quite liked all 7 songs, although I have gone of The Ordinary Boys in a big way, and I've never particularly cared for the Pussycat Dolls.

The Futureheads Leave Record Label, 679 Recordings
Hope this isn't the last we see of them. I liked a lot of the stuff on their two albums.

The REAL voice of Katie Price
No she can't. Even if this is fake, she sounds c**p on the 'real' version. But as Grami says, this record is just the oompa loompa and his plastic whore trying to get publicity for themselves in the name of charidee. It's nothing more than a naff novelty record like the Crazy Frog. You always get them at Christmas time.

UK Top 10 5 Years Ago!
Apart from Hear'Say and Westlife, that's a pretty decent top ten. My favourite is probably PPK.

The Worst Albums Of All Time
That one where she said she wishes she was as skinny as them? I think that quote turned to be an urban myth. Then again, it's also an urban myth that she has a 7 octave vocal range.

The Worst Albums Of All Time
I'm surprised that there are quite a few on that list who are actually worse than Diarrhea Carey. :o Shows just how awful most of them are.

Record Of The Year 2007
Take That will win I think, but overall I'd say that's a pretty good list of hit songs from this year. The only one I seriously dislike is the Sandi Thom one, but that was a fairly, erm, significant hit this year.
