'Already Over' Chart Position
No Tomorrow is a very good song, but everything else they did was dull. No surprise they have flopped so badly with this one.

Aging Boy Bands are Back in the UK: Westlife, Take That Top
Yes, I agree. Sadly, boybands always have obsessive fanbases though. Girl groups generally do not. The only one I can think of that did was probably the Spice Girls.

The Worst Albums Of All Time
Actually, I don't think the whole Ashlee Simpson thing is the same ballpark at all. OK, she may be a rubbish singer, and she is probably heavily autotuned, but it is still her singing, and the decision whether or not to sing live on a TV show isn't usually the decision of the act anyway. Sometimes they are told they have to mime. The only time I think it's a problem is when they are performing live in concerts and so on as fans have payed to see them there. TV shows and the like are just promotion anyway. I really don't see why that is the same thing as having someone else sing the song and someone else pretending it's them. I kind of feel sorry for Milli Vanilli in a way, as they certainly weren't the first to pull that trick. Their manager Frank Farian did something similar with Boney M, as the male member of that group just mimed to Farian's vocals. Anyway, back on topic, I haven't heard any of those albums thank God, but I'd put the Crazy Frog and Pointless Hilton as the worst two acts there.

Fergie | Nelly Furtado | The Fratellis | Killers | Zutons
I don't think any of those singles are that great to be honest, but anyone who heaps praise on that hunk of dog c**p that Fergie releasing hasn't any room to criticise any of the others out next week.

Predict Jamelia's Beware of The Dog's Peak
Something About You was a much, much better song. Beware Of The Dog is OK I suppose, but I really didn't understand all the fuss that was made about it initially, which seems to have died done. I think at best this will probably go top ten, maybe 8-ish. I'd be surprised if it doesn't go top 20. Releasing it in the run up to Christmas is a very bad idea IMO. She should push it back to the New Year.

Best Single by 'The Killers'?
Mr. Brightside for me. Second favourite is Somebody Told Me. Hot Fuss was a much better album than Sam's Town, but a lot of the songs from that have grown on me.

The Catherine Tate Show
The Lauren/Science Teacher sketch was very funny, but I think it was pretty much the only funny sketch in that episode.

UK Airplay Year End Charts - 2000,2001,2002
I was going to say, surprised at how much Kylie seems to have been played.

Billboard Charts
Looks like the decision to release different singles for different countries was a wise one. It's seems the US don't "get" slightly experimental pop, while it was a huge hit in most of Europe and Asia where it was the first single released. Wheras in the States Promiscuous, the more R&B/hip hop type of pop song was a huge hit there.

Take That For Number 1!
I think their new single is a load of boring old rubbish, but it'll definitely be number one.

Cover Songs. Your Opinions
All these songs considered classics are cover versions: Aretha Franklin- Respect, Marvin Gaye- I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Soft Cell- Tainted Love, The Monkees- I'm A Believer, James Taylor- You've Got A Friend, Roberta Flack- Killing Me Softly. And Elvis Presley- Always On My Mind, Are You Lonesome Tonight, Blue Suede Shoes, Crying In The Chapel, His Latest Flame, Hound Dog, Love Me Tender- I'd better stop with Elvis, I'll be here all day.

Meat Loaf vs Celine Dion
I think Celine's is the best version. I thought the vocals by Elaine Craswell, the singer in Pandora's Box were really croaky and she missed a few notes. Jim Steinman didn't produce the Meat Loaf/Marion Raven version, so it packs less of a punch. The videos for all three are interesting. The original video is weird. The storyline seems to be paramedics working on a woman after a motorbike accident, and it has lots of leather, glitter, live snakes and kinky sex references. The Celine one is rather like the Meat Loaf one in reverse- i.e she's singing to the ghost of her dead boyfriend in a mirror. He dies in a motorbike accident in the Celine one as well.

Best Rock band of the 90s?
It depends which way you look at it I suppose. Oasis during the Definitely Maybe/Morning Glory years were good, but since then they've been trading on their past glories. They certainly had the most mainstream appeal in this country. Rage Against The Machine and Faith No More, I agree were definitely influenial in the nu metal sense. Radiohead were excellent. Brilliant albums. I suppose, Kurt Cobain's "credibility" has been diluted nowadays, as he has become a sort of "poster child" for the '90s, but that shouldn't take anything away from how great Nirvana were in their short time.

Cascada - Truly Madly Deeply - hit or not?
It's rubbish. Terrible cover version. If though it's a cover of a famous song, it still sounds like a watered down copy of their first single. Another Eurocheese one hit wonder dance act I think.

The Killers - "Bones"
I really like the video. I'm not keen on the song itself though. Mind you, I hated When You Were Young at first and I like it now.

MC Harvey & Javine having an affair....
What I don't get is, why would anyone go for Javine when they've got Alesha?

Saddam sentenced to death
I think this is whole trial was just a way that Bush and the American government in general can have Saddam Hussein killed while being able to say they didn't actually kill him as they didn't give the sentence.

The Best Number 1 of 1999?
A very poor year for number ones. The best by far is Maria by Blondie. That said, it's interesting to look back. Baby One More Time was a massive hit and pretty much made Britney's career. Didn't Christina look so sweet and innocent in the Genie In A Bottle days? Strange to think what was to come for those two.

Buzzjack Record Of The Year 2006
1) The Killers- When You Were Young 2) My Chemical Romance- Welcome To The Black Parade 3) NeYo- So Sick 4) Madonna- Sorry 5) Justin Timberlake- SexyBack 6) Lily Allen- Smile 7) The Kooks - Naieve Although I hate the bottom three fairly equally.

Billboard Hot 100 - Top 50
I have to agree. Apart from Snow Patrol that top ten is awful.

National TV Awards Thread
Didn't most of those win last year as well? It seems it's the same things which win year after year.

Overrated film classics
While I'm not defending it or saying it'd any good, is Titanic overrated? Yeah, it made a lot of money and won a lot of Oscars, but I've not heard either members of the public or reviewers say many good things about it. I think The Shawshank Redemption is overrated myself. Morgan Freeman is good in it, but it's overly sentimental, the basic idea that he would be able to escape in the way he did is more than a little far fetched, and it goes on far too long, especially considering the novel it was based on was so short.
