ive done this before, and its worked well. basically, everyweek you post you top 5 or top 10 shakira youve been listening to during the week (this can be determined by mp3 player counts, or off memory). and then after all charts have been gathered, points are collected, and wollah - the shakira weekly chart. what do you guys think? if its a yes, then i can start this/next week.

i do agree with the chart rules about cancelling old singles, but i think the time needs to be extended. i think a chart like a ''re-entry'' chart or ''recurrents' chart which is a chart compiled of tracks no longer allowed inside the normal singles chart should be introduced. and also, a ''older song'' chart would mean that popular songs dont have to be deleted, and that places like hmv can keep hold of the physical singles after 2-3 years. a chart is basically compiled about what are the most popular records of the moment, which makes me think that the ''deletion'' rule is stupid. ''deletion'' to me should mean that the record companies does some kind of control to how much it should be play on tv or radio, not its sales, thats if they really want to concentrate on the next single.

and theres me wondering if peter andre would sink to a new low :P

i dont think the singles will ever die out. i dont totp had a great influence either anymore, its just a coincedence that there were weak releases this week.

id give it within 5 years. i hate kiddie competition shows like this - most of the kids on them are from rich backgrounds, and of course have more chances. they are always so cringey.

they defo should do another studio album. i mean a greatest hits with 12 singles + 1 or 2 new tracks for a group that hasnt split up ? WTF?

the thing with tv play is that channel like the box or the hits (which are the highest viewed music channels) dont really play a part in the tv chart. overall the tv chart only counts down how much each vid is played, and has nothing to do with audience. so channel like B4 on freeview especially lead the chart as they just have about 10 new videos in their database and hammer them for a fortnight. with the box, hits etc, shakira might not played loads like some on b4, but they have higher audience figures as people like to have variety in music artists etc, and not listen to the same 10 on b4.

i dont think cascada will climb. it hasnt had the best airplay or tv play, and is c**p anyway. i reckon shakira will hang on, her and rihanna had a 9k gap on sunday, and with the totp still not long ago, some ppl can still remember, and her airplay has gone up. rihanna was 99p last week dont forget.

excellent song! :lol: i bought the lily allen promo album this week for a fiver, i think its excellent! i love knock 'em out, ldn and not big so far.

if the next single is illegal, i dont mind, except that theyll have to do a bit a mixing to make it better for radio. the current version is a bit weak.

imo, i dont see janet and fergie actually selling that many tbh. and i especially wouldnt say that fergie will get high first weeks sales. so for them id say about 200k. id say christina will probably sell the most.

rihanna has a remix of ''unfaithful'' on the radio that is not available anywhere - album, single or download. i have had to resort to ripping off the radio. i dont think its right to do this, as it makes audiences think its on the single atleast but its not. opinions?
