I’ve never even heard of the song at No.91 :/ I was expecting to see OLCHLT much higher as I swear I remember reading that it had “sold” over 1m.

“Show Me Heaven” by Maria McKee was certified Silver last year but would’ve already been awarded Gold in 1990. Why would of this been?

I’m surprised All 4 One has *only* sold 200k since 2004.

Can anyone tell me why “Show Me Heaven” by Maria McKee was awarded a Silver certification last year but sold over 400,000 in 1990 and was awarded Gold.

This is based on sales from 94 onwards. “Stay” was released in 92.

Don't forget this list is based on sales/streams since 1994. "Stay" was out in 1992, add in its original sales and it would be around #21 on this list.

How much has “Shape of You” sold to date?

Do you mean 381k as if it had sold 481k in the 80s it would’ve already been awarded Gold no?

"You Can't Hurry Love" had sold less than 287k as of June 2019, so has sold over 25k since then?

I really wish they had done too. However they have already sold more than Bananarama’s last album from April which was released on vinyl and had lots of promotion the week it was out. Sold less than 3k and reached no29.

It says on the article that The Ronettes are on almost 300,000 sales so it’s safe to say that “Stay” has sold over that meaning it’s total sales are at least 800,000. It sold just under 500,000 originally.

Are streaming totals UK only? I don't have Spotify, but If I did and I see that "Back For Good" has been streamed 6 million times, is that UK or globally??

How do you know its sold 200k? Oh I thought a song could not get a lower certification than the one they had already achieved.

Thanks for the fast reply! Bit of a long shot but "Stay" by Shakespears Sister is celebrating it 25th anniversary this month. Do you reckon it may of passed at least 700k by now? It had sold over 600k by Feb 2012 but because it was released pre-1994 it will only get a higher cerfitication once it passes 600k digital sales is that correct? as it was originally certified Gold.

Do the certifications for songs such as "Turn Me On" include streams?
