The Shield is going out in style: The dearly departed cop drama leads the Television Critics Association Awards with four nominations. The Shield, which ended its seven-season run in November, will battle Lost, Mad Men, Saturday Night Live and Battlestar Galactica for the coveted Program of the Year. The Shield was also nominated for best drama series, best drama acting (Walter Goggins) and the Heritage Award, which honors series that have made a cultural impact. ER, M*A*S*H, Saturday Night Live and Star Trek are the other Heritage Award nominees. The Shield's drama-series competition includes Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Lost and Mad Men. On the comedy front, TCA likes 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, The Daily Show, How I Met Your Mother and The Office. Stars from four of those shows — Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jim Parsons, Neil Patrick Harris and Steve Carell — will face off for comedy-acting honors. Fringe, The Mentalist, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, True Blood and The United States of Tara are up for best new program.
  2. The new Doctor Who series is absolutely amazing. David is amazing and so are his companions. Donna Noble and David have great chemistry and the show is extremely cutting edge in its non-violent philosophy and sense of scope - the size of the universe, of time, the fate of humanity. I especially loved the most recent episode, The Stolen Earth. This episode featured several of the companions of the doctor, such as Captain Jack , Rose, Martha, Gwen, etc. I also recommend the spin off series to Doctor Who. This is a must watch for anyone interested in fantasy or science fiction.

Really loved Ghost Whisperer DVD and watched from the beginning. I have recently moved and began law school and have not kept on top of episodes. I just watched last week's episode to find Jim gone and the Jim actor playing a Sam character. The Jim/Melinda relationship was a great part of Ghost Whisperer, not many tv shows base around a solid marriage. Also found a new professor, who is not nearly as good. I realize the old actor has his own show now, but the new professor character is just lacking. Will not be watching the show anymore without Jim

Blair Waldorf is the so-called toast of adolescence in her world; she and her friends, Kati Farkas and Isabel Coates, go to a prep school and fancy parties with their rich parents. Blair is envied by her adversaries because she is thought to have the perfect life, not just because of her gorgeous boyfriend, Nate Archibald, but because she's also planning on getting into her dream college,Yale. With everyone worried about college(or procrastinating on worrying, which everyone seems to be doing), and senior year dragging along, her seemingly perfect life is interrupted by her ex-best friend, the beautiful Serena van der Woodsen, coming back into town after getting kicked out of boarding school. Serena comes back into her life, and into the eyes of Blair's boy friend. When everything Blair knows starts to fall apart, everyone will realize that her life is far from perfect. Will life in the the Upper East Side redeem itself of what it's really supposed to be? Or will the false facade reveal that the rich have the same problems as the not so rich (Jenny and Dan Humphrey), if not more. And just maybe Jenny and Dan are all the more happy with their simple, not so expectant lives.
