Big Brother US • Season 27
Ava's facial expressions anytime there's the slightest bit of drama/big speech/power reveal are killing me, I think she's my fave of the newbies from watching the episodes. It looks like we're in for a great season now we're already 2/2 on the target winning (this week by proxy) the veto. I really disliked Jimmy in the first two or three episodes when he was talking about wanting to send Rachel back to Alabama, but I'm living for the mess. Has there ever been such drama at the veto player selection before? 🤣 Was hoping for Kelley to do a Kaitlyn in her special comp, but I think it was too easy and there was too much time.

Wimbledon 2025
Great stat. And any of the last three years, Swiatek would've been coming in as a favourite (being the #1 seed), and we've ended up with a pretty random winner, then this year she came in with no expectation and she's ended up proving everyone wrong about her ability on grass. Hoping that Alcaraz also secures his 6th grand slam (would be the 3rd time that him and Iga have been champions together if he can manage it, each time on a different surface)

Wimbledon 2025
I would love to not do well at Wimbledon if never doing well equates to making the semi-finals on three consecutive appearances. Would assume that Iga has the final in the bag with how easy she's breezed through most of her matches this year, seems that she's got the grass figured out. Will be rooting for her and Carlos to both get their 6th slam this weekend.

Wimbledon 2025
A shocking amount of seeds out already, and surprisingly more men's seeds are gone then women's! Some aren't really a surprise (Zheng Qinwen went out R1 the last two years as well, Ostapenko is so inconsistent that she's always a good bet of an early upset), but Pegula had worn a warm-up tournament just last week, and I'd expected Alexander Bublik to have a deep run based on recent performance. Pretty boring first match for Draper, in that he was never under threat even before his opponent got injured.

Such a decline for M3GAN, but it's just mirroring the decline in quality from first movie to second. I was so disappointed. As for where it went wrong for the sequel, I can't say that I've seen posters about for it, so I think marketing has been poor. Maybe also a crowded market (with '28 Years Later' doing good numbers, as movies that could be fighting for some of the same audience)? And maybe fans of the original were just less willing to spend a heatwave going to the cinema idk.

Will definitely enter this now I've seen it, but will take a couple of days to ponder some answers on the more open ones, don't let me forget!

Wimbledon 2025
Krejcikova has been really unlucky with injuries since winning last year, and I don't think it can be a good sign that she had to pull out of Eastbourne this week (if she makes it to her first round match, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a second year in a row of the reigning Czech champion being defeated in the first round, as her opponent is a teenager who is on the rise and has made it to the Eastbourne final) Dreadful draw for Raducanu, certainly won't be seeing her in the fourth round again. Would come up against Aryna in the 3rd round if she got that far, but the second round would be against someone who won a title on grass last week. I think it has got to be Sabalenka's to lose. Her record looks worse because she's had to miss two of the past three editions, but she reached the semi-finals the past two times she's been at Wimbledon. Draper managed to get fourth seed to avoid having to face Alcaraz or Sinner before the semi-finals, only to have Novak as a potential QF opponent, but also the in-form Bublik as a possible third round match-up ffs

JoJo Siwa attempts to participate in Eurovision again!
Imagine if Poland had gone ahead and sent her this year...guess she would've been too busy for that CBB stint to happen 👀

Some interesting stats from the past couple of days Carlos Alcaraz is now on the longest winning streak of his career (think it's 16 following today's victory at Queen's) - surprised that it's now, not at a time when he's world #1 Alexander Bublik's victory in Halle yesterday was the first time that Jannik Sinner has lost to someone not named Carlos Alcaraz since last August (although we must remember he had three months earlier this year when he didn't have the opportunity to be losing to anyone!), and the first time he's lost to someone ranked outside the top 20 since August 2023

What an intriguing chart run for "The Ballad of Wallis Island"! Has it been expanding into more cinemas, or just benefiting from really good word of mouth? Heard some great things about it, so might go and see it midweek!

So the women's final will be contested by the top 2 seeds - the last slam that happened at was the 2018 Australian Open, not as far back as I thought it might have been There's a strong chance it'll be the same in the men's draw. I'll be rooting for whoever comes through the Alcaraz vs. Musetti semi-final.

I wasn't able to get a pre-order, but I went onto the Argos website yesterday morning and was able to reserve one for collection later in the day, so Mario Kart World got played on launch day

Brilliant hold for Lilo & Stitch, and a great opening for The Salt Path (though you'd hope so with how much I've been seeing the trailer for MONTHS now)

Lithuania on Eurovision : 25 years
I think "Luktelk" is fine (overrated by fans, but I can still bop to it if it comes on), but yeah, the rest in this section are all dreadful. I'm surprised "We Are The Winners" made it as high as it did in your ranking, I would have it with this bottom lot. The very worst kind of novelty, comes off far too smug. I'd say my top 5 for Lithuania would be "I've Been Waiting For This Night", "Stay", "When We're Old", "Happy You" and "This Time" ("Attention" and "Little by Little" just missing out, they're both underrated) Would be happy to see Estonia and Latvia, or a ranking of any country from 2000 to 2025

No, seriously, you MUST be erasing "Even If" from memory now if Olly and Mae have both been. Agog (but not as appalled) that Electro Velvet have yet to appear either!

Just had a skim through to see things are placing. Engelbert is a fair enough choice for last, but I've not seen Andy Abraham pop up yet, so I assume that you correctly decided that he was so awful, he doesn't even deserve an acknowledgement at the bottom of the rankings?

Brilliant to see Cam Norrie and Jacob Fearnley both through to the third round, where they will face each other to guarantee that one is making it to the fourth round! (where they will most likely come up against Djokovic, but still a great result for whichever gets that far) Jack Draper's path to the quarters has cleared nicely with the other seeds in his section now all out..

Deserved a lot more as it was pretty funny, but I think promotion was pretty non-existent ☹️ I only knew of it as the poster caught my eye on the Cineworld website. Not seen any of the current top 10 now, and I can't say the big releases of Mission Impossible and Lilo & Stitch particularly interest me. Assuming the Wes Anderson name will be enough to get 'The Phoenician Scheme' perhaps around the #5 mark in the next chart though, and I might check that one out.

Didn't see the match, but the stats look a little crazy with Kasatkina being broken in every one of her service games! Been some encouraging results this clay court season, fingers crossed for a decent draw at the French Open to help it continue.

Eurovision - Juries vs. Televote debate
I don't consider Kaarija or Baby Lasagna to be gimmicky at all, they're just fun entries. The performance of 'Tattoo' could equally be described as "gimmicky" imo, with her sandwich press staging. Maybe the juries should vote on the songs 'blind', without knowing which entry belongs to which country (although in some cases, language would give a hint), or at least try to get jury members who aren't familiar with the entries already or know what the odds are, as I agree they might be influenced by odds in some cases - so take out jury members who are former contestants, and more likely to have followed the build-up to the contest. Idk, just something to refine how the juries work, as a jury vote is definitely still needed (and not just because the current vote presentation is great for the suspense). The vocal has always been low down on what matters to me (for an uptempo at least). I'm happy that it helped Remember Monday get a good jury haul this year, but I'm one of those people who does view it as a SONG contest more than anything else (although Switzerland succeeded with both for me, a really lovely entry. I can only think that the zero from the televote was down to the staging not giving enough audience connection) Tommy Cash, I will never understand his success this year as the song was trash as well. I'll give him the staging being good with the fake stage invasion, but was that really worth 200+ points from the public

Amazing to see an original movie like 'Sinners' performing so well, though it doesn't look like my kind of thing at all from the trailer. I feel so out of the loop at the minute as I've only seen one of the current top 10 ('The Penguin Lessons'). Probably won't be any better with the next chart as I'm going to see 'The Wedding Banquet' today, but it must be quite a low-key release if it's not even included in the list of openings for this week.

I will go Draper in three sets. Doubt it will be as dominant as the Indian Wells victory given how good Ruud normally is on clay, but Casper really had to fight in his SF (and really I think it was Cerúndolo throwing it away, getting broken back each time he broke the Ruud serve)

Jack Draper through to his second Masters final of the year in Madrid, and he's now reached an ATP Tour final on all three surfaces.. If Casper Ruud goes and wins the biggest title of his career now, after just falling outside of the top 10, I will not be impressed
