Norrie out to Rublev, but his second successive 4th round of a Slam so that's not bad. Things looked dodgy for Swiatek earlier but she managed to come back from a set and a break down. Still think the women's winner will come from the Garcia/Gauff QF.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022
There was some exciting news announced last week about the upcoming Junior Eurovision @1562760495152902144 The UK are taking part for the first time since 2005 :cheer: Great to see the BBC get on board whilst there's so much Eurovision fever in the country. We did really well in 2003 and 2004 so hopefully we can replicate that success and the BBC put in just as much effort as they did with "Space Man" this year.

Yes, don't do to him what you did to poor Harriet :P I'm conscious of the fact that in the fourth round he'd come up against an opponent who's beaten him in the past couple of months, but he lost to Ruusuvuori at Queen's and then beat him easily in the first round here, he's beaten some great opponents this year. Very impressed by his performance against FAA given he was a semi-finalist last year.

^ Beaten a Grand Slam champion in every slam this year, two at the AO on her way to her first QF! What a year for her so many years into her career. Harriet Dart lost, I tuned into the second set where she got bageled and she was doing so bad. Pressure of being the new British #1? At least Emma still has something to hold onto now.

Emma out :( Was prepared for it to happen, given that she couldn't have opened against another seed I think Cornet was pretty much the worst possible draw she could've got. Rybakina another round 1 upset as the current Wimbledon champion and a player who should really be top 10 off of it. At least for the Brits, we had Murray, Draper, Evans and Norrie all through in straight sets.

Another top 10 seed out, Daria Kasatkina at the hands of Harriet Dart! A great fight back from Dart after being a break down in the decider. Andy Murray managed his first straight sets victory at a Grand Slam since Wimbledon 2017.

I'm doubtful Rafa has it in him at the moment, it's very wide open this year with five fighting it out for the #1 ranking at the end :o Crying at Emma's draw, facing Alize Cornet in the first round. Grand slam experience doesn't come much more than that and she ended Swiatek's mega winning streak at Wimbledon. #80 in the rankings beckons

Borna Coric became the lowest ranked player to win a Masters title last night, by defeating Tsitsipas in Cincinnati. Only dropped one set (to Nadal) en route. He was 152nd at the start of the tournament after coming back from injury, and will now be seeded for the US Open.

Looks like Norrie beat Alcaraz for the first time in four meetings last night :o New career high on the way for him next week :D

I didn't see the Serena match due to the time it was on but I think Serena is pretty easy to beat these days unfortunately, and I think Emma did play well against Azarenka but also Azarenka was really bad yesterday so I can't tell if this is the start of good form. But this is two consecutive tournaments where she's won back-to-back matches at least, something she's not managed at a Slam so far this year. During the disappointments of this year I've just kept up hope that maybe she'll just be an amazing New York player :P

Great to have Halep back in the top 10, someone who feels worthy of being near the top of the rankings. Raducanu and Serena are first round in Cincinnati, that'll be interesting :D Can't be mad at whoever wins.

So happy that Draper is getting a breakthrough at a Master's but next he's against Carreno-Busta who doesn't appear to have been in danger of being broken in his first three matches, which particularly surprises me when he's been up against Berrettini and Sinner, so this could be a tough one.

Thank god Medvedev won Los Cabos or we'd be looking at Zverev becoming #1 next week whilst out injured

To be fair I thought it was a tough draw for Emma, having to go up against the defending champion in the first round, so I went in expecting a loss  But it was pretty shit to not win a point in the first set tie break and then to lose six games in a row in the second. At this point my hopes for her in the US are just to make the third round so she could at least say it's her best Slam performance of the year, anything beyond that will be a bonus.

I am team Manchester too and after the fuss over presenting our votes from there this year, I suspect it's probably the BBC's preferred choice going into the bidding process so let's see how they go. Although for the convenience of being able to stay with family if accommodation prices are too extortionate, my top choice (outside of London which outside of convenience would mean no holiday for me :kink:), is Sheffield xx

Sounds like she's possibly the biggest local name they could've gone with, how exciting! That NQ clearly hurt for them this year and now they aren't messing around. Checking out a few of her songs, she has some tunes! QB8NuvDML2I RdVx-GrnQzk 5GUYcnAMZ5c mZo94QhrX7k

WHO. Who did this?! I know Shum is very loved in the fandom but I'll always prefer Solovey, for me it's much easier on the ears and the first loss of these results. Show Me Your Love tries to be a bop but I find it a bit of a shouty mess. Glad that Be My Guest has made the top 10!

Wimbledon 2022
Looking at the Wiki for the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, it appears that all of their current players on the tour are actually Russians who have switched over. To be fair to her, all her slams have been with Kazakhstan and it's not like that woman who switched to Georgia just before the tournament. The first set yesterday made it look like it would be an easy straight sets victory for Jabeur but I think she really lost it when she couldn't convert three break points to take it back on serve in the third. Was funny how Rybakina didn't appear to care about winning at all, her reaction was as if it was just the first round she'd got through

Wimbledon 2022
Hopefully it's advantage Kyrgios - he's had more time to rest and recover having not had to play a semi-final, and I see it appears to be 2-0 in his favour when it comes to their head to head (albeit both times they've played appear to be on hard and it was five years ago), would be disappointing to see an easy win for Novak.

Wimbledon 2022
Rafael Nadal has withdrawn, Taylor Fritz must be fuming after how tight the end of their QF was. Kinda here for Rybakina to win in the women's, I think it will be hilarious if someone born in Russia ends up winning anyway even after banning all those playing for Russia.

Expected bottom two, couldn't find the motivation to go and remind myself of them :kink: Shame that Mika Newton's entry was nowhere near as iconic as she ended up being in 2019.

Cam Norrie through to the quarters :D Think he has a great chance of making it to the semi-final now
