Cyprus · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
I don't think I realised just how similar they are until I was at a Eurovision quiz the other night and "Strobe Lights" came on, and one of my friends was like 'I'm not really a fan of this one, it's Cyprus isn't it'. On first listen I thought it was quite messy, but I'm really coming round to it, had it stuck in my head all day yesterday. And ngl, he's definitely the eye candy of the year.

France · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
During the live reveal I got caught up in the whole 'oh this isn't the nailed on Eurovision winner that we were all hoping for', but with the studio version and now knowing what to expect when I listen to it, this is really beautiful and builds really nicely throughout. Still a potential jury winner at the very least, perhaps it'll come down to the staging as to whether this or Austria takes the jury?

Amazing performance, not facing a single break point. If I hadn't got out of work slightly early, I probably wouldn't have caught any of the match, he got it done so quickly Up to #7 in the rankings tomorrow and extremely close to #5. Second consecutive Masters title for Mirra Andreeva in the women's side

2025 Formula One Season
Definitely a race worth being up at 4am for. Glad Piastri managed to get back into the race and into the points, I felt my heart breaking when it looked like he might have been out in not just the first race of the year, but his home race, after managing to complete every lap of 2024! Nice to have someone else leading the drivers championship for the first time since Spain 2022(?)

Draper to face Holger Rune in the Indian Wells final! Been an impressive run, taking out both Fritz and Alcaraz to get there.

Lola Young - Messy
I heard this for the first time (that I'm aware of) at a bar in Sweden last week. Should've checked it out sooner whilst it was #1, a great tune!

2025 Formula One Season
Why was I told that it would be 6am UK time on Sunday Eh, guess I can still deal when I'll have just done five days of getting up not much later than 4am for work. Will have my Piastri hoodie at the ready.

Australia · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
This is the "No Rules" of the year for me, I tried to resist initially but it's just so damn catchy. I think it helps that he delivers sexiness in the video in a way that has me like 'I actually DO want a taste of the milkshake man'.

Switzerland · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
I think this is a respectable host entry, it's very sweet. Don't think it'll be overly competitive, but it'll surely get enough from the juries and at least some televotes from French speaking countries like France and Luxembourg to avoid the bottom five.

Austria · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
One of my favourites of the year, and if France doesn't quite live up to the hype I would be very much here for this winning, but I agree that it's probably a bit too inspired by "The Code" to go all the way.

Now that we've had Bridget Jones, I think this might be my next most anticipated movie of the year!

Anora and The Substance were both in my top 3 movies of last year, so I'd have been happy with Best Actress going either way, but Anora does have the edge for me so I'm delighted to see it sweep and win almost everything it was nominated for (and Kieran Culkin is brilliant in A Real Pain, definitely the right choice there even if it wasn't a supporting role)

Azerbaijan 2025 Mamagama Run With U upbiPJ9uA70 Sounds like the most competitive they've been since Efendi, should see them back into the final at least!

Estonia (Eesti Laul) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Definitely stands a good chance of being my least favourite of the year, and I pray it's a NQ

Sweden (Melodifestivalen) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Greczula had some cool staging and it is a catchy song. Nice to see that already, two complete Melfest newbies have gone direkt (last year it was only Jacqline) Don't find those results too disagreeable, at least Dolly Style could still sneak the final via AC.

Jannik Sinner has accepted a three month ban. That means he's going to miss Indian Wells, the Miami Open, Monte-Carlo and Madrid when it comes to big tournaments. The Italian Open is the next tournament he will be eligible to play in.

Yep Estonia coming to have two dreadful entries in a row :(

Sweden (Melodifestivalen) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Agreed that this week feels hard to predict. I sadly don't really expect Dolly Style to get anywhere even though it's my fave, I think it'll only do well with the youngsters and get tanked by the older age groups. Life Again got stuck in my head after a couple of listens, really liking that one and I'd guess most likely to go direkt as Annika has the familiarity of taking part last year, and having a better entry this time. I wouldn't be surprised if people end up really disappointed with Malou's result. It's better than Bananas, but I'm not totally feeling the hype.

Malta (MESC) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
I don't know what will happen to this song before May, whether they get her to pronounce "Kant" more clearly or get the Graham Norton's of the world to specify that "this may sound like something else, but she IS singing KANT", but I am SO happy that Malta took this chance after three NQs. "Heaven Sent" was fine but really overrated, "Kant" is what I needed to win a NF more than any song ever. As someone with tickets to the SF2 live show, the choices of the past 24 hours or so have all gone perfectly *.*

Ireland (Eurosong) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Love how the international contestant missed out on the 12 from the international jury whilst getting it from the public vote and national jury  Really hope this is another qualifier for them, even without Norway to support them through the semi-final. Instantly my favourite of the year so far as well (though maybe not by the end of the weekend if Malta decide to serve KANT)

Sweden (Melodifestivalen) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Have had a couple of plays of Klara's entry, it's strong and I love the final minute in particular, but it's not quite matching "Run to the Hills" for me. Looks like she's bringing staging too, though I'm not sure it sounds like something that Sweden would send to Eurovision.

Slovenia (EMA) · Eurovision Song Contest 2025
I think this is a very sweet and emotional entry, and it's going to be underrated by fans right up until May. It's qualifying, and getting enough jury support come the final to achieve a better result than Joker Out and Raiven.
