I'm sure the EBU run a much tighter ship these days and the contest has moved on a lot so I'm not too nervous about Italy hosting, I doubt the final will clock in any longer than last night tbh (helps that barring a special invite to Kazakhstan happening, there will be one less performance and one less televote score to reveal :heehee:) I think "Every Minute" may have stood out slightly more and got a better jury score, but I feel like the performance as it was in Melfest suffered a bit in the same way that Benjamin did in looking too much like a music video? Idk, I'm not convinced it was a missed opportunity either. I think The Mamas could've got the best result, they just radiate such joy but who knows if the casual viewer would've felt that. I think what last night showed is that we need a return from Pagan Fury.

I hope Andorra come through on their promise to return in 2022 but I'm slightly worried given that San Marino underperformed expectaions. I don't think there are any real withdrawal risks, at least I hope not...I've heard that interest has dropped a lot in Romania but ffs, a lot of countries have suffered through much worse NQ streaks than three in a row and it's not like any of those NQs were undeserved! Hoping that this year gives Sweden a bit of a kick, not that 14th is bad in such a strong year and I actually find it impressive that they did better in the televote than the jury, but it's still an end to a six contest top 10 streak and now it's been shown that they can't fully rely on the jury to keep propping them up... I actually didn't mind it so much this year compared to 2019 where the disappointed reactions of Michela and Lake Malawi still haunt me. It seemed like there was a close up reaction of most of the acts no matter what televote score they received and everyone with a low score appeared to take it really well (with the exception of Senhit, her face was a picture), I guess they come to expect it as a possibility. The order of the reveal doesn't bother me too much but I would prefer 30+ minutes to be spent on the televote and 10 minutes on the jury vote rather than the current set-up, but I guess the current way is the easiest for covering up a televote winner that doesn't win overall. Such time dedicated to what 200-ish people think doesn't sit right. The top 4 on the televote all came from the second half but the top 10 of the televote was actually a 50/50 split between first and second half

^ Not sure France would go with Paris now that they've announced they're hosting Junior Eurovision there in December :thinking: Think they may go the same way that the Dutch did with Amsterdam in that it already has enough tourism and use it as a way to boost somewhere else perhaps. I'm surprised at how quickly Iceland are being written off by some people (both on here and elsewhere) when they're supposedly the 'lost winners' of 2020 (which I still don't like them being seen as, we didn't get to the rehearsal stage last year and we've seen how much they can change things, Ukraine were not seen as a contender before rehearsals this year)...the song isn't that different and as a package it's basically the same thing? I don't think sympathy votes are much of a thing at Eurovision but if it's a tight race, even an extra 15-20 points could swing it and I don't really see a negative impact to them not performing live in terms of result with how well it's blended together. Kate performed better in the jury than the televote.

Iceland are winning, I'm now convinced (and at peace - sure the song isn't in my top 10, but for me it's preferable to any of Italy, Ukraine or Switzerland). It's the song I can most see doing really strongly on both the jury and the televote, even if France win the jury and SenQUEEN tops the public vote.

I'm not too concerned about Iceland or Malta potentially having to host as who knows if we're back to 'normal' by then? Things could still be at reduced capacity, but even if we're lucky enough to be back to a pre-Covid world, I'm sure whatever venue they could come up with would be able to welcome more fans than Tel Aviv's conference centre :lol: I'd be kinda annoyed if Italy manages to win tbh. Just cos I still don't 'get' this song, and they were big favourites with both Mahmood and Francesco and I LOVED those entries, so if they were gonna win, I'd rather it have happened with one of them :( Iceland is probably the one that I'm having the easiest time seeing as the winner now, if they get a comfortable televote win I don't think the juries will have them low enough to not be the overall victors. I don't think it's new news that I find Daði annoying, but I do rather like what I've seen of the staging and I think it's an entry that will stand out massively. Hope Rob is right about Cyprus. Fully expecting her to not quite match Fuego but do better than Replay.

The one that sticks out in my mind is how Blanche tanked in the press poll in 2017 :lol: I've just looked up 2019, they had Hungary above Belarus/Slovenia on day 1, Estonia lower than Georgia/Belgium/Portugal on day 2, day 4 had Arcade 4th and KEiiNO 7th out of 9 countries...actually, Arcade also had a score of 45 as well so maybe Destiny is mirroring it They're fun but I take the numbers and positions with a pinch of salt really and prefer to read what the written reviews say

That's surprising, I don't imagine it's that expensive to produce as all the versions use the same building so surely that helps spread the cost? I'm really disappointed after what a good outcome series 3 had :( Hopeful that Netflix will take it on, but I'd rather it stick with Channel 4. Any future UK series will likely have less episodes if it's Netflix produced..?

The English version is SO much better. Still not sure it would be top half of my rankings due to this being such a strong year but it definitely wouldn't be teetering around the bottom as one of my least favourites.

Agreed, but I think my pick order would go Kiefer > Tera > Ty > Breydon. The fake double eviction twist went as well as it could've done really and thank god the latest eviction corrected the mistake they made during the fake eviction of getting Tera out over Beth, that confused me so much. Beth must be one of the most annoying houseguests I've ever seen on this show.

I've warmed to Courtney as it's progressed but I struggled with him at the start as he was team Savannah and I was team Terilisha. Would be happy with either Chloe or Trevor winning as Chloe has been my fave throughout and Trevor has been a good catfish (they've basically been a less iconic Manrika/Felix), but this is probably my least favourite civilian series of The Circle so far when thinking of both US seasons and the three in the UK. I've still enjoyed watching it but having watched the three UK series since watching the first US season, this now feels a little too short, could do with a few more episodes to get to know them more and let the relationships play out and develop. But even comparing it to the first US season, I haven't taken to this bunch as much as I loved Joey, Sammie, Shubham and Rebecca.
