Mango's Chart Quiz: SONG PICTIONARY: THE RESULTS
Can't say I'm kicking myself about any I missed, don't think I've heard of The Lovin' Spoonful. Coldplay is clever, and I get why people would've put "Christmas Lights" as I was convinced it was a Christmas song, but couldn't work out which recent one would fit. I never thought of what they were watching as a 'play', looked like a nativity to me. The bonus questions were all a fail to me. Boo to the couple of people who missed the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, that was the first one that clicked with me and I thought it was the most straightforward of 'say what you see', there was no mistaking the chilli peppers!

Surprised to see 'Lee' open with roughly double the takings of 'The Critic', I thought the latter was getting a much bigger push! It was one trailer that I felt like I saw every time I've been to the cinema over the past couple of months.

Mango's Chart Quiz: SONG PICTIONARY
Entered. Think #5 and #17 are my favourite clues. Can't wait to find out the answers to the few I had no idea on! Didn't expect to get so many, but it's not too hard once you start to really think about what the images are showing and putting words together in your head. Would love to see a future edition as it was really enjoyable to play, very creative.

🧸 Results: A Pointless Chart Quiz for 2024 🧸
Thanks for hosting, Wardy! So many people including myself, kicking themselves over not simply adding a '2' to the end of their answer for the Nicki Minaj question Fwiw, I like it when a round of Pointless includes a question or two that has very limited possible answers. Aside from questions where a loophole might be left open, I see it all as pot luck no matter how many possible answers - I mean, who was expecting "All I Want For Christmas Is You" or Sabrina Carpenter to both end up as pointless answers :D

The first man since Daniil Medvedev in 2020, to reach this stage without dropping a set. Very good going, and will see him break into the top 20 next week. I hope he can put up a decent fight against either Sinner or Medvedev, take a set out of whichever one he ends up facing, even if the expectation is that he'd lose to either.

TWINKPOP
Where do I order this on CD? So many amazing songs, impressed with the amount of Melodifestivalen and Eurovision twinks, but also plenty of tracks that I've not heard of and will need to check out asap based on the quality of the songs I do know! Even songs I don't know by artists I do (perhaps I'll recognise "The Dirt" when I play it, but not one that jumps out by title, so interesting choice for Benjamin Ingrosso  Also that Isac Elliot song better be worth it to be included over the absolute masterpiece that is "New Way Home")

Two pointless answers in a row :o Was happy with just one, and very pleased that I decided to go with Mariah over Wham out of the incredibly obvious options

I'll focus on being top half, and not that I'm towards the bottom end out of those with no incorrect answers so far :P

Great performance from Draper. Thought it was going to be a close match from the first two or three games, but then he just ran away with it. On the women's side, really pleased for Muchová to have another good run after missing so much of this year, and Bjork must be happy about Badosa.

Looks like I did the most common thing of starting from #40, and working up the positions whilst checking Polyhex  Should've continued that little bit further.

I was very confused by the figure for Kneecap before reading the commentary  I'm planning to see it tomorrow, but it only seems to be on at three or four Cineworlds in London, and only two or three times a day at each of those, so makes sense that Irish takings are included in that.

^ I got home at the exact point he turned things around in the decider, incredible comeback Emma Raducanu meanwhile is still yet to win a match at the US Open since winning the entire thing :(

The longest match ever at the US Open was just won by Dan Evans! He was trailing 0-4 in the deciding set, had breaks points against him in the fifth game, but managed to reel off six games in a row to take it 6-4.

Sabrina Carpenter - Taste
This is the most instant of the three singles for me, so I hope it can manage to match the #1 peak of the other two at some point, even if not this week Watched the video a couple of times and not once did my mind link it to recent real life events until coming into this thread  God the reach

Family Fortunes (Round 5) - The Results!
Well done Jay, wasn't rooting against you really, just had to shoehorn in a GA single (one that I didn't even go for :kink:) Happy with my result, I went for "I'll Stand By You" as it felt like quite the emotional moment during the recent tour which I thought could sway things as a fair few on the site went to it. "See The Day" definitely wasn't a consideration for me - I didn't realise it was a cover until now!

Only three points in it, I'm hoping that Wardy might be able to Jump in and steal it at the last moment ;)

Family Fortunes (Round 5) - The Results!
Boo at Madagascar really costing me. Yes, Alex is the lead, but I just thought it would be the Buzzjack thing to go with a female. Sugababes is a fair enough top answer, I think I considered them, but more people saying Westlife than S Club is a total wtf moment for me, when you think of popularity on the site and how recently S Club have toured.

The Jannik situation made for a funny headline that I saw on a newspaper yesterday, "he's no sinner" :D The draw for the US Open has been done, Jack Draper eyeing up Carlos Alcaraz as a potential 3rd round match-up. Emma Raducanu starts off against Sofia Kenin, with the winner likely to face Jessica Pegula, so tough draws for the Brits, though they've beaten those possible opponents in the past couple of months so could be good battles.

Shows that you think are overrated
It was in the top 3 most watched shows in the US for over half of its run, and received multiple award nominations and wins, so if that's not something that's 'rated', I don't know what is. (not that I'd be saying The Big Bang Theory, I loved the show and bought the box-sets in the pre-streaming era, and Young Sheldon is great too) I really enjoyed the initial run of Gavin & Stacey, but the last Christmas special didn't click for me and I'd rather they weren't doing another one. For me, I'd say the endless amount of cop/crime shows that were huge in the US, things like CSI and NCIS that have received multiple spin-offs. How were there so many, did people not get tired?!

After the round of Pointless that took place in the lounge last year, I know not to trust the rainbow nursery rhyme as a way of confirming the colours :D

It Ends With Us
I enjoyed this more than I expected, I thought it was very well done and it's a shame that it's caught up in behind the scenes drama because it's bringing focus and getting people to talk about a very important issue. I liked the backstory that was given to Ryle, and thought the ending with Lily .

Alexei Popyrin has become a very surprising Masters champion, after defeating Andrey Rublev in the final of the Canadian Open. The first Australian male to win a Masters event since Lleyton Hewitt. Alex de Minaur found shaking. Jessica Pegula defended her title in Canada on the women's side.

^ A £4.5m opening for "It Ends With Us", knocking Deadpool off #1! :o I did not expect anywhere near that, that's huge for a romance drama?! Honestly I thought it would just perform similarly to Blake Lively's "The Age of Adaline" from quite a few years ago, which opened with less than £1m.
