Lifetimes • 2nd Single
As faceless as it is, it's still really catchy and the most I've liked anything from her in ages. I can see myself going back to it, good move to be moving on from WW already.

Family Fortunes Olympic Edition Results
Ooh pleased to be a joint winner, and well done King Rollo! Although I should've gone for Steve Redgrave for the Sydney gold medallist question, was between the two and that would've got the win for myself :P Had no idea which sport is a 'flop' but I just went for football because it has a lot more prestigious tournaments and I don't think it's a sport that really gets associated with the Olympics. Went for Istanbul on the basis they're one of the potential cities putting themselves forward for 2036, couldn't think of what else to go off.

PARIS 2024 | Racket Sports
Incredible for Dan Evans and Andy Murray to see off five match points to win against Japan. Murray's career not over yet!

Woman's World • 1st Single
1. Roar (pop perfection) 2. California Gurls 3. I Kissed a Girl 4. Never Really Over 5. Woman's World 6. Chained to the Rhythm I agree she doesn't always peak with the lead though, so I'm still curious about the upcoming album. For me, "E.T." was the best single from TD, "Hot N Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas" are both better than IKAG, and "Swish Swish" is the single from Witness that I got behind. The single that peaked lower than what came after it? I've never got that into CTTR, but Bon Appetit is dreadful and what I believe was the beginning of the end for her.

A Quiet Place: Day One
The fact that Frodo the cat was the second most important character made this right up my street. The ending was so emotional, honestly I was almost in tears when

The Traitors US • Series 3
I finally finished season 2 on iPlayer. Obviously nothing was going to be able to top Diane's funeral, but I think Ekin-Su is as good as this season could've got, just how there was no logic to Parvati's choice. They could do with shields/immunity idols that can be used to protect from banishment, imagine Parvati whipping one out at the roundtable when the votes were against her. This sagged for me a bit towards the end, I don't think it was necessary to bring Kate back, and it was kinda ruined by the Bravo people all sticking together until there wasn't much choice. Or maybe they were just that dumb. I think that's why for me, the civilian version is better, as you don't have these pre-existing relationships that have some influence (outside of twists like Ross and Diane). The final episode, and MJ's face as the flame turned red!!! I felt so bad for her, especially as Trishell originally voted to banish again because she suspected CT?! MJ was rubbish at the game but she didn't deserve that. Season 3 cast - excited for Britney and Chrishell! They were both traitor victories (Cirie and Alex)

Woman's World • 1st Single
I like this more than the majority of her post-Prism music (the exceptions being "Swish Swish" and "Never Really Over" - yes, I'd rather listen to this than "Chained to the Rhythm"), the chorus is rather catchy, the music video is quite fun (I'd just been watching a video about Trisha Paytas, and then watched the music video straight after, so screamed when she popped up). I do think some of the reactions have been a bit extreme and it's not been nice to watch the pile on that's taken place all over the internet and social media. I'm not sure how much I'd re-visit it going forward though because the Dr Luke thing does taint it. The fact it's meant to be a women's empowerment anthem, and he's involved, can't really be looked past and it's right for that to be called out.

Wimbledon 2024
Might have been nice to see a closer match, but it's also nice to have a contrast from last year and not to have nerves as a viewer. Excellent play from Alcaraz today (and for the sake of my sweepstake, let's hope the Spanish have achieved all the sports victory that they need for one day).

Wimbledon 2024
What a thrilling final game, and a great deciding set that could've gone either way. I am gutted for Paolini, I hope she can continue to play at this level and win a slam at some point, but it's also nice for Krejčíková to be able to shake off the 'one slam wonder' label.

Wimbledon 2024
Ended up rooting for Vekic, how gutting for her to be so close :( But what an achievement for Paolini, some tennis commentator on X says that she's only the fourth woman this century to make the French Open and Wimbledon finals back to back (both Williams sisters and Justine Henin being the others)! It would be nice to see her win, cherry on the cake of an amazing season so far, but I just feel she'll follow the same fate as Ons Jabeur (losing back to back finals - one to Swiatek, one to Rybakina)

Wimbledon 2024
Not his fault that de Minaur got injured, or that Zverev threw away a two set lead. He was the one having to pull out of a QF at Roland Garros so I'll let him off this time now that he's the one benefiting. Rooting for Rybakina and Paolini to win tomorrow, let's see this really random women's draw end with at least some consistency.
-
Wimbledon 2024
Nah, Zverev being ahead at a crucial stage is exactly when to expect him to lose :D Disappointed Rune couldn't put up as much of a fight as well. I think we're on course for a re-match of last year's final, and tbh I think it would be iconic for Djokovic to win his first tournament of the year now, when he had surgery so recently and no one expected him to be able to play.

Wimbledon 2024
Swiatek and Jabeur out! The former isn't that much of a surprise, this isn't her surface and her slam record outside of the French is very inconsistent for someone who before the year is out, will be the 7th longest world #1. But I'm sad for Jabeur. Surely there will be more upsets to come and we won't just end up with a Gauff vs. Rybakina final

Wimbledon 2024
Never had any doubt about Emma dispatching Sakkari with ease. Big shot at a semi-final match up with Coco now. The draw just keeps opening up with Badosa taking out Kasatkina.

Wimbledon 2024
Tsitipas' record at the Australian and French Opens versus Wimbledon and the US Open is kinda crazy, it's like he gets tired or just gives up halfway through the season. Boulter and Draper taken out by Dart and Norrie :o The first result wasn't too much of a shock, but Norrie winning in straight sets felt like quite an upset. Hope he's up for the Zverev challenge

Wimbledon 2024
^Shame it didn't go to a 5th, but what a match and what a fight from Berrettini. Hope he can get back amongst the top players over the next year. Raducanu got past Mertens very easily. I wouldn't expect Sakkari to be too much of a challenge, if she could get to the quarters that would be an excellent result. Good, one of the few players that I have an active dislike for. The way he made himself bleed by smashing his racket against his knees

Wimbledon 2024
Wimbledon was his best performance at a slam last year, so I don't think it's a stretch at all for him to be the favourite when he's also now world #1. I would give the edge to Alcaraz though, especially given that Sinner losing to Berrettini in the second round wouldn't be that much of a shock if the latter is fully fit. Yeah, I didn't expect that match to be such a tough win for her, so I don't want to set my expectations too high. That quarter of the draw is looking pretty open though without Sabalenka... Big upset, and her sister got through as a lucky loser  I think she got jinxed by some tennis commentator on Twitter pointing out that she's going to be the exact same age (to the day) on the day of the final, as Sharapova was when she won Wimbledon

2024 Tennis Thread
Emma Raducanu got a bit lucky with the seeded opponent she was due to play withdrawing this morning, so she's through to the second round of Wimbledon after defeating a lucky loser. Sabalenka withdrew as well, with a shoulder injury. Big loss for the women's draw.

2024 Tennis Thread
I see a third or fourth round exit for Djokovic, surely it's going to be too soon, he was having a poor season even before the surgery. The Wimbledon draw took place this morning and what sticks out to me is that Sinner vs Berrettini could be a second round match-up! Swiatek vs Kenin is an interesting first round as well after Kenin caused a first round upset last year against Coco.

A Quiet Place: Day One
gjx-iHGXk9Q A prequel to the two other A Quiet Place movies, this has just been released in cinemas. I've not seen the other movies, but I saw the trailer for this at the cinema a few weeks ago and thought it looked good (was particularly drawn in by the presence of a cat :heehee:), and since it's a prequel, I might give it a go.

2024 Tennis Thread
Three British women through to the quarter-finals in Eastbourne as Raducanu and Harriet Dart also won today! First time that Emma has beaten a player ranked in the top 10, and she was a match point down during the second set tie-break, so that's a big one for her!

Kinds of Kindness
Can't get enough of Emma Stone, Williem Dafoe and director Yorgos Lanthimos? Less than six months after the release of Poor Things, here they are again! NGOL2_mI9Hw The trailer doesn't give much away, but I think it'll be good to go in not knowing what to expect, other than it containing three separate stories. Doesn't seem to have much hype as it's outside of awards season, but Yorgos Lanthimos is such an interesting director and I loved Poor Things so I'm excited. Out Friday

Inside Out 2
Not in any trailer that I saw, so I'm being cautious not to spoil it for anyone as I'd have been annoyed myself if I'd read about it beforehand.
