Wimbledon 2024
^Shame it didn't go to a 5th, but what a match and what a fight from Berrettini. Hope he can get back amongst the top players over the next year. Raducanu got past Mertens very easily. I wouldn't expect Sakkari to be too much of a challenge, if she could get to the quarters that would be an excellent result. Good, one of the few players that I have an active dislike for. The way he made himself bleed by smashing his racket against his knees

Wimbledon 2024
Wimbledon was his best performance at a slam last year, so I don't think it's a stretch at all for him to be the favourite when he's also now world #1. I would give the edge to Alcaraz though, especially given that Sinner losing to Berrettini in the second round wouldn't be that much of a shock if the latter is fully fit. Yeah, I didn't expect that match to be such a tough win for her, so I don't want to set my expectations too high. That quarter of the draw is looking pretty open though without Sabalenka... Big upset, and her sister got through as a lucky loser  I think she got jinxed by some tennis commentator on Twitter pointing out that she's going to be the exact same age (to the day) on the day of the final, as Sharapova was when she won Wimbledon

Emma Raducanu got a bit lucky with the seeded opponent she was due to play withdrawing this morning, so she's through to the second round of Wimbledon after defeating a lucky loser. Sabalenka withdrew as well, with a shoulder injury. Big loss for the women's draw.

I see a third or fourth round exit for Djokovic, surely it's going to be too soon, he was having a poor season even before the surgery. The Wimbledon draw took place this morning and what sticks out to me is that Sinner vs Berrettini could be a second round match-up! Swiatek vs Kenin is an interesting first round as well after Kenin caused a first round upset last year against Coco.

A Quiet Place: Day One
gjx-iHGXk9Q A prequel to the two other A Quiet Place movies, this has just been released in cinemas. I've not seen the other movies, but I saw the trailer for this at the cinema a few weeks ago and thought it looked good (was particularly drawn in by the presence of a cat :heehee:), and since it's a prequel, I might give it a go.

Three British women through to the quarter-finals in Eastbourne as Raducanu and Harriet Dart also won today! First time that Emma has beaten a player ranked in the top 10, and she was a match point down during the second set tie-break, so that's a big one for her!

Kinds of Kindness
Can't get enough of Emma Stone, Williem Dafoe and director Yorgos Lanthimos? Less than six months after the release of Poor Things, here they are again! NGOL2_mI9Hw The trailer doesn't give much away, but I think it'll be good to go in not knowing what to expect, other than it containing three separate stories. Doesn't seem to have much hype as it's outside of awards season, but Yorgos Lanthimos is such an interesting director and I loved Poor Things so I'm excited. Out Friday

Inside Out 2
Not in any trailer that I saw, so I'm being cautious not to spoil it for anyone as I'd have been annoyed myself if I'd read about it beforehand.

The final of Stuttgart wasn't the biggest win of his career for long, as Jack Draper has just taken out Alcaraz at Queen's!

Inside Out 2
LEjhY15eCx0 This has just had the biggest opening weekend for an animated movie ever, worldwide. Not quite as good as the original for me, which was a perfect 10/10, but still very good. My highlights were the minor characters, the couple of times we saw and Lance Slashblade.

So happy for Draper, on course to be seeded at Wimbledon so that should help (unless he gets a Berrettini re-match in the first two rounds ) Katie Boulter managed to defend her Nottingham title as well, a good day for the Brits!

Jack Draper has defeated defending champion Frances Tiafoe in the Stuttgart Open, to progress to the semi-final. Good news as he's replacing Cameron Norrie as the British men's #1 from Monday!

Surprised indeed that "Kom" isn't a bit further up! Sad that we won't be getting any "Party Voice".

The women's final seemed like it could be exciting for all of about ten minutes. I hope the men's can end up just as one-sided, in favour of Alcaraz

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
Excited for this. Whilst I didn't think the first prequel was as good as the original Hunger Games or Catching Fire, I did enjoy it more than either part of Mockingjay.

I think Andreeva is the real deal, this is only her 5th slam appearance and already the 3rd time she's at least made it to the last 16, but it does feel like classic WTA that either her or Paolini is making the final. I was only able to watch the first set yesterday, but Sabalenka did not look well. She's not my favourite but it is a shame to see her streak of making at least the semi-finals come to an end.

My Top 60 Melodifestivalen songs from last 25 years
Amazing song  I don't think her entry this year was as good, but still a shock that she didn't even make AC. Considering that Tusse achieved a poor result by Swedish standards, they really should've taken the opportunity to send something in the Swedish language.

Djokovic has withdrawn with a leg injury, which makes Jannik Sinner the new world number 1! Also guarantees a first time French Open champion. Now's your chance, Ruud.

I really like this one and think it's quite underrated amongst fans. Was happy that it made Andra Chansen, felt like the right kind of result. Hope we see more of Jessica Andersson in this countdown, "Party Voice" at the very least! Also hoping Timoteij can do well as they tick the boxes of blonde, girl group and non-English language.

Iga Świątek: has to save a match point in the second round Also Iga Świątek: serves two bagels in the fourth round in a match lasting only 40 minutes Granted, Potapova isn't a four time Grand Slam champion like Osaka, but lmao

Swiatek vs. Osaka was huge, feel so sad for Osaka after how close she came, but a great match for her and hopefully a good sign for how good she's going to be once we're back on the hard courts The same Sakkari who lost first round at three of the slams last year? :D

All six British players out in round 1, think the commentary said that it's the first time for no Brits to make the second round of a major since the 2020 French Open. Shame for Katie Boulter to lose just now from a set and a break up :( The momentum really seemed to be with her once she won the first set after being 2-4 down.
