The difficult thing is that some under 16s would be ready for this, it just depends on their level of maturity. Trouble is, how do you measure that...force them all to undergo a psychiatric assessment before the live shows?

Aiden Davis - I don't get all the love for this kid here at all. He only managed one dance move different to that of his audition and you can sure as hell bet that the visual effects were not of his own brainchild. Hollie Steel - Second chance? No-one else would get that opportunity and she'd already failed three times with her diction in the first performance before the "tears". It all went to prove that she was not "ready" to progress and should not have been given another chance. Greg Pritchard - the lower end of his falsetto scale failed to the point of being painful to listen to...excepting that, he did pretty well Good Evans - Piers buzzed when the adults started singing, it should have been prior to that when the two young girls started singing woefully out of tune...after that it actually improved DCD Seniors - one of the best of the night, but nowhere near as good as Diversity or Flawless; a few of them lost their timing during the act and their initial costumes were hideous. The Dreambears - good fun, but Simon was right, it was a bit clumsy...as if they hadn't rehearsed enough...or were too nervous. Martin "Gos" Matcham - he sang better this time (except for some dodgy microphone control at the start) and the guitar solo was ok...the backing performers were the worst of the lot! Luke Clements - I guess he thought the melon-thing would be humourous to start with...but it wasn't! Then it was the same apple trick as his audition followed by the same old fire-juggling that I've seen many times before.

From what I remember of his audition, he just repeated the same few moves. I think George Sampson was much better than that. Hopefully he can come up with something better for the semi-final though.

The yawnfest of a standard saxophonist went through automatically? The incredibly out-of-tune grandfather and granddaughter next? These semi-finals are becoming more and more farcical as they progress. No doubt tomorrow (or rather, later today) will see the George Sampson drone take an automatic place in the final.

I've only heard the new single "Rusted From The Rain" so far. Sounded like a slightly heavier version of Bon Jovi (hope that doesn't put too many people off!). Not too bad though. Any idea of a release date for the album?
  9. I was expecting High End Of Low to be horrendous too, but I agree, it's not that bad at all :)

Not yet...from the article... Sounds hopeful that an agreement will be reached soon though.

BUMP...because there may be light at the end of the tunnel...the PRS are cutting royalty rates... Telegraph.co.uk: PRS cutting royalty rates
  12. I liked it when I first heard it, quickly went off it and now I'm liking it again.

Sickly? :P Just a couple of little girls messing about and thinking they were entertaining...I was saying "come on...buzz!!!" during most of their act.

Don't "love" any of them, but it wouldn't let me select none, so I opted for Black Eyed Peas...the best of a bad bunch. The only hate is Lily Allen. I guess I'm just indifferent to the majority of them!

 Not another of these daft stories about what any of the acts has/hasn't done in the past. The programme is about giving talented people their big break...who gives a flying fig about what they've done in the past??? If Shaheen or anyone surrounding him "underplayed" or denied his previous experience I didn't notice and couldn't care less, and would still only base my opinion on the performance given on the night. A performance that you evidently didn't like and whilst the performance wasn't dripping with emotion, it was hardly devoid of it, as you would claim! Agreed, it wasn't a flawless performance but was certainly one of the better ones on the night and I think he deserved to go through. Hopefully, in the final, he'll perform a slower, more soulful song in which he can display all the emotional facets that you feel were missing last night.

That's something else that I said too. All the blue lights and background whilst the ballroom dancers were on in their blue outfits was poorly thought out.

Just what I said when the act started :P

MD Show Group were (another  :P ) dance troupe - they danced to Michael Jackson's "They Don't Care About Us" and held up banners against knife crime etc. at the end of the act. Shaheen continues the Michael Jackson theme...he started singing to the Mark Ronson version of "Valerie"; Simon stopped him and got him to sing his second choice song "Who's Loving You". Hope that jogs your memory :D I hope so too!
  20. Not particularly keen on either of them, but Empire Of The Sun is vaguely easier on the ear.

Of tonight's acts, I liked MD Show Group and Shaheen best from the auditions.

  23. Staying true to what I said on the first page of this thread, Vlad The Impaler is not good at all. Fire has proved a slight improvement on that. As for the album being leaked - I'm happy to wait until the actual release date to hear more. PS - are you saying you don't like "Empire"??? :o
  24. The "deal" with the lib dems has been mentioned a few times in the past, but I think they're beyond that now. More than ever before, I think the Lib Dems will want to present themselves as a viable alternative in their own right against the two main parties when a General Election finally comes around...which will inevitably be June of next year.

DJ Talent - ...also pleasantly surprised he didn't make top 3...I think the only reason he made it this far is because Simon saw £ signs before him Shaun - awful attempt at meshing some kind of pseudo-opera with rock. Good song choice, but appalling arrangement. Merlin - "could've died"...but he escaped far too quickly, which ruined the whole thing! Hot Honeyz - as one of the judges said...more like lukewarm honeyz tonight Jamie Pugh - dreadful start, got a little better and a great end...but the poor start cost him dearly Peter - shouldn't have been in the semis, surprised me by starting well, but it just didn't go anywhere after that Gareth - superb...first time I can remember disagreeing with Simon Cowell's comments...he was completely wrong Flawless - definitely not living up to their name. I preferred Diversity in the auditions...and moreso now
