Why do female artists/groups generate far more Buzzjack traffic??
I think if you look across Buzzjack’s whole regular membership there’s huge diversity of taste, both pop and alternative, male and female. The phenomenon known as “stanning” which leads to threads that are 10s of pages long and often slightly fractious does tend to be reserved for female pop stars. But actually you’ll see a lot of people doing this aren’t very regular members and are just popping up for a particular event - as I say the regular membership is much more balanced and measured.

Not their most heinous release but still rubbish - Blazin’ Squad.

Round 8: Year End Survivor #125
Eliminated at 11:59 in the afternoon are Panic! At The Disco. This single reached #13 in March 2008 and had quite a good chart run. It’s their only Top 20 hit apart from 2018’s “High Hopes”. 4th: Panic! At The Disco - Nine In The Afternoon 10/29 votes (32%) 5th: Rob Thomas - Lonely No More 10/31 votes (32%) 6th: Saturdays - Forever Is Over 12/29 votes (41%) 7th: Craig David - Rendezvous 11/30 votes (37%) 8th: Sharam - PATT (Party All The Time) 14/32 votes (44%) 9th: McFly - Room On The 3rd Floor 12/30 votes (40%) 10th: UB40 featuring United Colours Of Sound - Swing Low 19/31 votes (62%)

Round 2: Year End Survivor #127
Very much in line with the odds, Steve Brookstein has been eliminated 1st. His cover of the 1984 #2 hit by Phil Collins was Christmas #2 in 2004 behind Band Aid 20, but climbed to #1 the week after Christmas. It was the #30 in the year end chart for 2004 as well as landing here in 2005’s chart, and has managed to finish 10th in both survivor polls. 10th: Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds 11/25 votes (44%)

Rob ranks the 2002 #1's
Not a fan of “Dilemma”: it’s pretty syrupy and the chorus is rather nursery rhymey, especially with the ding a ling style instrument that plays along. “Hot In Herre” is still brilliant though. Will’s double A side is OK really; “Anything Is Possible” is the more interesting track.

I’m afraid Ronan’s covers all leave me very cold: there’s nothing interesting about the performance. I don’t mind “The Tide Is High”: it certainly has more life to it than their version of “Eternal Flame”. But the Blondie version is leagues better of course.

He won’t be lonely as he’s off to a swingers’ party rendezvous-ing on the 3rd floor on Saturday. After appearing with Santana on the #3 hit “Smooth”, this solo hit for Rob reached #11 in May 2005.
